Good day,
I have a question for you.

Are these cross chain swaps legit?
-atomicdex.io
-transit.finance
-rhino.fi
-thorchain.org
-rubic.exchange
-rango.exchange
-defispot.com
-chainflip.io

Do you have experience with some of these swaps?
Are there any that I should avoid?

Thank you

I've never used the above swap services, in fact this is the first time I've heard of these services. These sites are pretty new and risky to use. I'd never know or have an experience with any of them but just PancakeSwap. Whether they are legit or not but it was safe to use a reliable exchange as long as our tokens are available to them. But if not, we leave no choice but to take risks from these new swaps sites and see how it works.

But upon reading their names, doubts had come into my mind. Well, it was just my personal opinion but I have to say, we need to do research in order to find how reliable they are and try, that was an absolute way to determine f that is a scam site or now.

I'm not that familiar with these exchanges, with the exception of Thorchain. The project has been around for some time, and I have tried it in the past. As I have mentioned before, I find the fees/rates to be a bit high otherwise I don't have many complaints. Before using it, just keep in mind that the project is still under development.

Snipped

Before taking any decision on anything, first make your own research about them, these are uncommon swaps and i don't know where and how you come up with them altogether, my advice is if you think you can't risk loosing your crypto assets, make use of the ones you're very familiar with which were also common, lastly, your thread should be on altcoins discussions or exchanges, i recommend you move the thread right before the moderators does that for you.

If you are not sure about the services above, you should be able to use swap services that are more secure, such as Pancakeswap, 1inch, or Biswap, because I have used these swap services and I can say that these services are secure, fast and easy for users to use.

These sites are pretty new and risky to use. I'd never know or have an experience with any of them but just PancakeSwap.

Some of these sites have been around for a while, and some have a decent roadmap.
They also own tokens and have a ton of followers on Twitter.

Unfortunately, no BTC swaps are possible with Pancake or 1inch.

Of course I also informed myself, but I would like to get more information here in the forum.

But it is not an Altcoin topic, you can swap Bitcoin with these swaps

I can vouch on thorchain because I use that chain swap before when I'm invested on Rune. Most of the exchange is a dex or chainswap from a blockchain that is not that popular or with low liquidity.

I don't want to rule out that they are scam because I don't know it but you can always check their smart contract audit and community to verify if they are legit or not.

The website although are not new because every domain is at least 2+ years old and some are more than 5 years old. This indicates the platform has a lot of time to grow or to gain trust but why did these platforms left behind? (behind means these websites have lower traffic than the ones currently being recommended by other members like Pancakswap, or Uniswap, etc.). The names which you picked I don't know from where did you came to know about these platforms because the one named as atomicdex is now named as comodo wallet. This means your data is out of date.

But, still, my recommendations for you are the same, if you want to swap BTC like on DEXs swaps then do not trust some swaps which have less reputation, and who is forcing you to use these when you have a better options available. But, if you really wanted to swap on these platforms then (as I have no experience on these) try not to swap with big amounts.

Thorchain is the only one that I know too.

Fees are high because they are somewhat decentralized and do Bridge over chains , which is quite expensive.

It is not centralized as changelly , etc..

It's good that it's DEX.
They move with the times and the future will be decentralized.

To be honest, I can't understand why you say that they use blockchains that is not popular or with low liquidity.

atomicdex.io = BNB Chain
thorchain.org = BNB Chain
rango.exchange = they use thorchain ( BNB Chain )
defispot.com = they use thorchain ( BNB Chain )
rubic.exchange = ETH Chain
rhino.fi = ETH Chain
chainflip.io = ETH Chain
transit.finance = BNB Chain

I mostly know about thorchain.org and atomicdex (which has now been rebranded to Komodo wallet, it's been around since 2016) Some discussion in this thread about it - Atomic DEX discussion

https://rango.exchange is also talked about, but I have no experience with it - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5389259

Yep, avoid using some of the exchanges you mentioned that don't allow using real bitcoins. Although I didn't really try it, it's just that some of them only let you connect with one type of wallet like metamask. I can confirm they only accept wrapped bitcoins, we agree that such tokens are highly not recommended in the long term.

Low liquidity aside, most instant swap services that I know of would support multiple blockchains (coins) since it is necessary if you want to attract interest from users. I doubt a majority of users would be okay with trading wrapped tokens on the BNB chain since it can inconvenience them if they plan to trade on other exchanges.

I'm not familiar with any of the services you listed, but I second the suggestion to avoid them if all they offer is trading-wrapped tokens. I used Changelly and Changehero in the past, although their KYC is probably the biggest con if you want to protect your privacy.

Good day,
I have a question for you.

Are these cross chain swaps legit?

what you mean by legal, if you meant that it has a license to manage a financial activity, I don't think it. they claim to be decentralized However, they are exchanges that do not require KYC and may be closer to the idea of bridges between two blockchains.

Do you have experience with some of these swaps?
Are there any that I should avoid?
If there is a more trusted alternative and there is no reason to use them, what are you trying to do or what service do these exchanges provide and you are looking for it, we may find better solutions for you.

you can change your eth to btc (native), why is it bad if they also offer wrapped tokens?
Uniswap and all the other dexes do that too.

what you mean by legal, if you meant that it has a license to manage a financial activity, I don't think it. they claim to be decentralized However, they are exchanges that do not require KYC and may be closer to the idea of bridges between two blockchains.
I didn't mean if these sites are legal, I meant if they are legit (if these sites can be trusted)

Well, most of them have been crossed off my list.
-atomicdex.io = the coin looks dead to me, liquidity is dead too
-transit.finance = they use swft.pro as an exchange, that makes me suspicious, they dont have a pool or proof of reserve and i dont trust blind
-rhino.fi = Only wrapped BTC possible
-rubic.exchange = they use Thorchain
-rango.exchange = they use Changenow ( They have scammed before ) ( i dont trust blind )
-defispot.com = they use Thorchain

Thorchain is still in my list, the operators are very transparent in everything they do, the liquidity is also great, the Rune Coin also seems to be strong.
And there are some strong companys who work with them.

Chainflip stays on my list as well, the project looks promising, it hasn't started yet but 20 million has already been raised.
And there are also some strong companys who work with them.
They will probably be a good competitor to Thorchain, and competition stimulates the market.

do you maybe have other options to exchange eth for btc without kyc?
Do you know any other cross chain swaps that are legit like Thorchain?

I'm also unsure if i should use exchanges like Changenow or Fixflot, what do you think?

I believe that these BTC-Swaps (cross-chain) platforms are legitimate. While I haven't personally experienced these listings yet, I have visited their websites and Twitter handles. They appear to be reliable and user-friendly. I suggest starting with the popular ones initially, but you can also consider trying out newer platforms like transit.finance, rango.exchange, and chainflip.io.

Taking into consideration the topic: are there any reliable sources with reasonable criteria of swap/exchange safety online at all? Like we do observe coins and tokens news portals as CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and so on but are there trustworthy assurance portals which give us a clue to trust a site or not?

Changenow may ask for KYC, I think you are good to exchange through "middleman" to avoid KYC. I remember that pnnv.com/exchange also partnered with changenow on a verified basis where they ensure (temporarily) that you will not be asked for KYC.

However this is not reliable advice, at least I've never seen a bad review on this forum, and the founder is quite trustworthy having done some business. If you want to try it, do it with small money first.

AtomicDEX is true DEX, trades are on chain with atomic swap on native coins.  it provides a light wallet (komodo wallet is electrum server light wallet tech based). It mainly support UTXO coins, but add BNB and ETH recently.   Pros:  coins supported are large, almost all the coins are supported including many bitcoin clones, trading fees are low as KMD and many altcoin transactions fees are low. Cons: liquidity and trading volume is low.    This DEX is mainly for small retail traders.

Thorchain:   another true DEX that support bitcoin litecoin doge ETH and stable coins,  on chain native coin trading, not wrapped coins.  Pro:  native UTXO coins trading including BTC.  this DEX has liquidity and large trading volume.  This should works well for large volume trading.  Con:  on chain tradings,  fees could be large if the trading is on small volume.  Many altcoin small volume retail trading might be better off with AtomicDEX instead.

you can change your eth to btc (native), why is it bad if they also offer wrapped tokens?
Uniswap and all the other dexes do that too.
I think you misread me. I said you should avoid them if they only offer wrapped tokens, meaning that if they offer native BTC swaps then you can try them (after checking other things like their past problems, etc). Wrapped tokens are risky since they can get frozen, lost their value, and so on quickly. Besides, why would you settle with wrapped tokens if you can trade native BTC? Exposing yourself to wrapped tokens will just increase the risk of your funds losing its values.
