What happened::
I am following one indian youtuber Wise advise for learning purpose. two weeks ago he warn about Bitget exchange with reference of twitter account whose fund seized by Bitget. I wonder to see because this was ny first time i heard about Bitget exchange. I am also using Bitget for small trading purpose. Some days ago Bitget exchange launched Signature compaign too here.

I checked out Trust pilot review and found out that many other users fund also seized by Bitget without any warning and customer support not solving their issue.

Reading Twitter post and trust pilots review I strongly believe that depositing big fund is very risky and we should avoid it. as far low fund i think it is safe yet.

Reference Link: https://twitter.com/EvanLuthra/status/1687485217299222529
Amount Scammed: $16,000,000

Some recent trust pilots review:

Date of experience: August 03, 2023

Quote

Ive used Bitget for over a year and this is the first time they are holding my funds
Similar to another person who recently posted a comment about it being 5 days without an email response to his support ticket. They boast that someone will get back to you about your email ticket in 12 hrs. It has been over 72 hrs and when i speak to the online support chat (for urgent matters only, a link in the email support ticket email) they say "their relevant team needs more time investigating the case". There's no evidence the funds left the exchange. The blockchain shows it went straight into my funded account and into the Bitget wallet with millions of dollars of crypto. This is the first red flag in my opinion and i wont be using them again. This type of shady practices screams of insolvency or a hack they are trying to cover up. Better to use another exchange.

Update 7/27- I have received an email support reply. Saying that my funds are under review and the site shows the funds deposited but not accessible

Date of experience: July 22, 2023

Most times I wonder why would people sending a huge funds into newly created exchange while we have trusted exchange that has been there for decades now and are pretty doing well without any bad records or much, that's why today I barely find time involving myself with those exchange because I know there aren't free from giving out silly excuses, most of the common excuses are kyc associated one that's why as a trader you have to ensure you did your kyc before sending in your funds to exchange, and it must be very little and you can decide to do it bit by bit to reduce the tension of one losing all their funds.

To be clear, I have no relation to Bitget exchange, I don't even have an account there, so this is not a defence of their name. I just don't like blanket accusations and guesswork.

I agree... would like to see some additional evidence as well. Their way of marketing themselves here is kind of shady, however. Most exchanges or projects that try to do what they're doing (paying accounts to slip in references to Bitget here and there) end up scamming their users.

Would also like to see evidence of their campaign, which very well might exist, but I don't know where.

For example, these accounts have all been talking about Bitget recently in an out-of-context fashion:

Vivageneviv - 55 posts
ananyabushra - 30 posts
Zee27 - 29 posts
Bitcoinpoly - 21 posts
Cryptobabe - 15 posts
Shuuuuu - 14 posts

They're just cramming in talk about how reputable the exchange is in places where it doesn't need to be, makes me wonder how much they're getting paid to do this. Probably not much, $1 a post at the very max.

Here is the official Bitget signature campaign https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5462250.0
As far as I can see, none of the ones you listed are officially campaign participants. But it would not be the first time that we have a private campaign where users shill for a brand.
And yes, it seems to be organized (or one person manages all accounts) because after being inactive since July, all accounts have actively started writing in the same way about Bitget. I will probably tag them all.

Really strange decision for individual to deposit such huge amount on new created exchange since their mind could change with that amount since in a single person they can already get a huge amount of money if they decide to exit. Also curious to know if there's illegalities involve with this since its hard to choose over those old reputable exchange and maybe there's something strange happening here on why they decide to deposit such huge amount on new exchange.

Honestly, I thought I was the only one who noticed that needless solicitation from OP on something very remote to them. It's not even something they're sure of. It's just a hearsay and OP ran with it. I can't fathom why they did it, knowing that the exchange is making efforts to get the issue resolved in the first place. Such  an unbridled display of uncharitable comment can ruin a business. We can't say because this is social media anyone can say whatever they feel like saying and get away with it without getting sued. I think it's about time online people  started getting sued for intentionally spreading lies in order to ruin others. I know it's going to be more difficult tracking people here to physical addresses unlike in Facebook and Twitter where it's already done.

~snip~

I believe this accusation could have been more formal and given much more attention if the said people, whose complaints you just saw, were the ones to open the scam accusation or you were in contact with them, which can give you much more access to detailed information regarding how the exchange scammed them or how the exchange is likely trying to scam them. Since you are neither the accuser nor related to any of them, I can see this as something that is just trying to ruin the hard work of an upcoming exchange for nothing since your claims are just based on an assumption and a third person's story.

If this were a case of some physical company with legal entities backing them up, the company might press charges against you for trying to ruin their reputation with an unproven fact. I'm just saying you should be mindful of the kind of accusation you lay, especially when you are not the person who is directly affected.

I feel the same way too. The OP should have just made the title informative enough to save a lot of people the stress of even reading the entire thread before realizing it was all just a mere story.

probably trying to look for crypto exchanges with much relaxed KYC requirements so that they can wash their funds through them and also manipulate the markets of shitcoins with low liquidity listed on those exchanges and profit more. Those are the most probable reasons but yeah, that's what you get for being too greedy and not diligent enough.

First of all sorry for the loss. I could not understand why this type of amount can be sent to such a site where there are a lot of reputed exchange sites. I don't think this topic will be helpful in any case to get the money back but the community of this forum will be aware of the scam on the site.

If you check this twitter account, this is account of well known indian crypto user followed by big crypto influencers and projects. I accept that only one tweet is not enough to start scam accusation but If you check out Trust pilot review then it is clear that this is not only case and many people facing withdraw problem.

For giving warning about any exchange first i have to deposit big fund and when i scammed then i will make thread here?

I am still new here and still learning. I trying to be active and help community. If this thread is not helpful or against this section then kindly tell me so i I will delete my post.

Can you make up your mind, are you hearing about Bitget for the first time or are you using them for small trades?

I forgot to add one words "scam". I want to say that first time I hear about Bitget scam.

Yeah this really is not a proper scam accusation thread. Can I de-merit OP?
If possible, do it (Thanks Theymos for not adding de-merit ). Soorry for wasting time. i am trying to reach this user and will back if got any reply.

Just keep in mind that some reviews can be fake too. Are you familiar with the service mentioned in the review above? They claim to get their money back after they report the exchange to them, but I'm not sure they offer a service like that. Besides, if the exchange doesn't want to return your money back, I doubt the user will find success reporting them to a third-party service. Unless they are suing them. CMIIW.

I personally consider influencers a big misconception. They certainly did not gain their influence exclusively with good and accurate information, and for a monetary reward, they will publish anything. Their modus operandi is to publish bombastic news the real truth is not the most important for influencers.

Once again, to be clear, it is not my intention to defend this exchange, even based on my intuition, I think they are closer to the description "scam" than trusted. But that's just my opinion, and I can't make accusations just based on my feelings.
Of course, there is no possibility for me to send any deposit there, certainly not $16m like some smart influencers who share pieces of advice.

Surely you can create an accusation behalf of someone else problem, but you need to understand how trusted is the account or the case is really make sure the project is scam.

Since that influencer in twitter isn't that trusted, so I can't trust him, this thread is still a suspect, not a warning or make everyone to avoid this exchange.

No need to delete this post, you was making people who read this thread think Bitget is scam while the actually it's not known about the real truth. I suggest you can reach that influencer to join this forum.

That's the best action to do so that he can verify this accusation and give his side since if someone will just post this in behalf of him in this forum maybe this will stir up something then we cannot get any accurate information regarding on this case.
But also hope we can see Bitget can read this thread and answer the warning posted against them since this can help them and this community to know more information regarding on this issue.

I'm just going to leave it here if anyone is interested.
Like OP provided. It's is the same accusation, they are selectively scamming people.

https://www.blockhead.co/2023/04/11/bitget-exposed-as-chinese-scammers-starts-100m-asia-web3-fund/

also the trustpilot revies don't mean anything since people can pay to post fake reviews on that website.

It's just an assumption but that some if not all of these people who put large amounts of money in a new exchange are part of the scheme given that they can get it back if they're really part of the inner circle of the scammer. Unlikely to happen but it's a possibility, I am the same as you, I don't understand someone using a new exchange and then depositing large amounts of money, I mean you would probably be thinking twice and being really careful where you put it since it's a lot of money right? I think it's a common sense to not be trusting of new exchanges with that kind of money, not having that instinct is just begging to have that money get stolen.

What happened::

Bro we're not all gullible in this forum.
Here you claimed you've only heard about Bitget for the first time and in the same statement you claim to use the same exchange for small trades. This is really questioning your motive for writing this claims.

I checked out Trust pilot review and found out that many other users fund also seized by Bitget without any warning and customer support not solving their issue.

Reading Twitter post and trust pilots review I strongly believe that depositing big fund is very risky and we should avoid it. as far low fund i think it is safe yet.

Amount Scammed: $16,000,000

Your reports are actually misleading and inaccurate.
