Is there any wallet for newbies? If there's none, I think we should have a wallet for newbies. As a newbie who wants to learn and more about crypto, I've learnt that owning a wallet is very essential in managing one's crypto assets hence the necessity for anyone who wants to get involved in Bitcoin must have crypto wallet.

So I'm asking if there can be wallets for newbies that'll contain tutorial measures on how to use it and it'll also be user friendly to newbies thereby helping them to learn all the basics of Bitcoin wallet so as they grow and improve their knowledge about wallets and Bitcoin in general, they can advance to pro versions of Bitcoin wallets. With this, to send, receive coins  and do other things like message signing will  be less complicated to newbies and will also make the use of Bitcoin wallet an easy task for all newbies

On top of the this board there is guide on bitcoin wallets, here is the thread, if you read through this you will definitely find a lot of information regarding various wallets.

As for the wallets that have say tutorial  in built in them they are certainly few, although short demos are there to guide you for your first transaction but to have everything as a tutorial I think only centralized exchanges actually offer this functionality. The most common one is the binance Academy.

But this isn’t a wallet but an exchange so do not go and save your funds there. Stick to wallets and if you run into any problems you can simply bring it up on the forum, there are capable hands to help you

It is just simple as do not let anyone to know your seed phrase. Anyone that knows your seed phrase will steal your bitcoin. Backup your seed phrase not online but offline on paper or steal sheet and have two copies of it. Avoid phishing.

Address is what you will give to people to send you bitcoin.

What should be known again for newbies? Nothing.

Use Electrum wallet or Sparrow and enjoy using them.

Read very well about malware. Also about passphrass.

Many Bitcoin wallet softwares are available for everyone. You can choose either custodial wallets like online, exchange account wallet or non-custodial (self-custodial) wallets which are more recommendable to use.

No thing like wallet for newbies as even non-custodial wallets are easy to use for newbies.

Reminder: Do not keep your money in online accounts

Recommended wallets

Electrum wallet is convenient to use as it is non custodial, light in storage space, available for desktop and mobile.

It is not really rocket science, possible for anyone to understand who has the ability to read, and understand what is the meaning of deposit/ receive and send.

Let's say you are downloading Electrum as your Bitcoin wallet, you can find the Download link on their official website.

https://electrum.org/#download

Once you downloaded the wallet.
Setting up your wallet:

1. Launch Electrum then You'll be prompted to create a new wallet or restore an existing one.
2. Choose "Create a new wallet" and click "Next."
3. Select "standard wallet option" and click "Next".
4. Choose you want to create a new seed then Electrum will generate a seed for you.
5. write down this seed and keep it in a safe place. This seed is essential for wallet recovery.
6. Confirm the seed by entering it in the next window.
7. Set a strong password for your wallet and click Next.

Now you completely set up your wallet.

Receiving Bitcoin:

Click on the "Receive" tab to generate a receiving address. You can generate multiple addresses if needed.

Sending Bitcoin:

1. Click on the "Send" tab.
2. Enter the recipient's Bitcoin address, the amount you want to send.
3. Choose the right fee as suggested by Electrum, you can also use https://mempool.space/ to find the actual fee and click "Send."

If you still need any tutorials then you can use Helpful Guides For Newbie on the Electrum Wallet posted by Ratimov.

A lot of mobile wallets are already pretty easy to use (outside of the typical 12-24 word backups that most people don't like). Check out BlueWallet — it's pretty much the wallet I recommend all the time to the newbies.

I think creating a wallet for newbies is not the best thing to do. Newbies should be educated not to share their seed phrase or private key and not to connect their wallet to an unknown site

In contributing to that I also think there should be tutorials held here on bitcointalk forum to educate newbies on the basics of crypto and also how to exchange them . Speaking from experience since I'm also a newbie ,I still find it difficult to understand how to change my coins to money .

There is no special wallet for newbies, all the wallets can be used by a newbie, depending on the amount of funds that you want to store in your wallet. There are hot wallets that are easy to use,all you need to do is to download the wallet and create it,with this you can use to store little bitcoin for your daily spending. One the other hand if you want to a wallet for saving a huge amoynt of your bitcoin, you will need a hard ware wallet which you have to use on an airgap device. Electrum is an easy wallet can a newbie can easily understand how to use it.

There are lots of tutorial threads about bitcoin wallets in the forum already created by members for newbies and anyone to access it for their own benefits, so assuming you're not informed let me drop a few here for your knowledge:

Which Bitcoin wallet to use (by Lauda)

Which hardware wallet to use (by BitCryptex)

Safely download Electrum (by DireWolfM14)

Electrum wallet for beginners and advanced users (by BitCryptex)

TUTORIAL: How to use Electrum (for beginners)

For a newbie that loves reading and wants to learn, these threads above with other ones that can be found in the forum is much pretty easy for any newbie to catch up as there's no unique wallet directed to newbies.

If you have ever done online banking, using wallets to send and receive money will not be a big problem. You are already aware that you need to keep the password to your Fiat account safe. The difference is that you need to keep your wallet seed phrase and password safe. Most wallets have tutorials on how to use them and you can also find many tutorials on the internet. You should start using the wallet by transacting small sums. You can also practice using two wallets to send and receive funds between themselves to help you master the wallet.

In contributing to that I also think there should be tutorials held here on bitcointalk forum to educate newbies on the basics of crypto and also how to exchange them . Speaking from experience since I'm also a newbie ,I still find it difficult to understand how to change my coins to money .
You can not view videos in bitcointalk so don't expect to see such tutorials. But you can use the search option in the forum to get more information on wallets. This link also has a comprehensive guide on the use of wallets https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0.

There really is no distinguishment whether a wallet should be for newbies or for experienced. But if talking about the experience, many of the people that I've seen that are new to this are mostly using centralized and mobile wallets. They all have the same reason and that's all about the user experience and easy to use. So since a lot of threads and links have been given to you. You can start with those links and get an idea on what is a user friendly wallet or what you think is good and easier to use and then from there, jot down the differences of those ones and to the ones that are being used by the majority like Electrum.

There's no particular Bitcoin wallet designed for newbies but there are some good open source wallets you might want to take a look at like Electrum wallet, Blue wallet and Unstoppable wallet. Either of them is good for storing your Bitcoin but you still need to learn about wallet security. When creating a wallet you will be required to generate a seed phrase, write it down on a clean piece of paper and keep it somewhere very save. Do not disclose it to anyone.

You don't need to be a Bitcoin technical guru or crypto savvy to be able to use the wallets. As long as you can read, comprehend and follow simple instructions, you should be find. I would also like you to read the following Bitcoin wallet related topics written by forum members:

Their is no need having a particular wallet for newbie because I don't see what is so difficult for newbies not to be able to set up a wallet.  The wallet is very easy for anyone to use, there is always guild that helps beginners on how to set up a wallet.  The wallet always instruct user how important the seed phrase is and the need to keep it safe  and from strangers.  The most important thing about a wallet beginners needs to know about is to handle seed phrase and to have have better knowledge concerning security that can prevent them from the hands of scammers.

All Cryptocurrency wallets are newbie friendly and you can read and learn all about Cryptocurrency wallets within a day I don't know what part of using a wallet you are having a hard time understanding, there are hundreds of tutorials on Youtube about creating a wallet it's straightforward and easily understood.
The most important is securing the seed phrase and private keys but creating a wallet is so easy, when it comes to securing a wallet there is no such this as a newbie for wallet, we should learn how to secure our wallet, whether we started just today or have been a user for many years.

Thank you for the very comprehensive guide and help on how to start somewhere I sincerely appreciate your kind gesture. I will try my possible best to put it to good use and also learn as much as I can learn from it.

Why newbie need that while there are reputable wallets available? You are just exposing yourself on danger since to many scammers hunt newbie and be their victim so if you go on new wallet which say they are newbie friendly then you might get scam with them.
Just follow what people suggest since they are the bes base on their experience. So try to grab those wallet which is tested by many people since scamming issue maybe less chance to happen on those platforms.

Try faucets, also you can try creating crypto demo wallet accounts, there are specific tutorials, guides and mentoring you could learn from them and there are website also were you can begin as a newbie, when you're dealing with demo account you will not have to use real bitcoin or possibly the reward that may be given can be very little in sats since the intention was for learning purpose only.

With this, to send, receive coins  and do other things like message signing will  be less complicated to newbies and will also make the use of Bitcoin wallet an easy task for all newbies

There's a wallet best for newbies in this regard which can serve for learning purpose and easy to understand, they can make use of Exodus wallet but am not sure if all the features you mentioned were comprised in it usage.

Yeah there are wallets in every types and in every color if you wants a pink one or your babe wants in pink then you could also get one we have all types of colorful wallets. What wallet do you need. hehe. Just kidding dear. There is no such thing like Pro wallet or newbie wallet. Because if you started to tag things out on the basis of ranks then how you will become a pro one day.

Why will you chose to be newbie because if you will chose the newbie wallet you will not become pro one until you use the pro one. SO, all wallet are equal security and UI levels and to understand about wallets you have to learn the basic of them from different sources. Instead of asking for one that is better for newbie.

Because every wallet has sending and receiving options but some wallet are decentralized and provide some good level of securities like 2FA and Multisig etc. If you try not to use them then how will you succeed one day in making your side completely secure.

This is wrong, wallets don't have equal security, neither do they have the same UI, there are wallets that are more secure than others, like hardware wallets and good software wallets like Electrum, but there are also wallets that are not secure and very vulnerable to hacks, like web wallets, exchanges wallets, etc.
Because every wallet has sending and receiving options but some wallet are decentralized and provide some good level of securities like 2FA and Multisig etc.
'Decentralized' is an inappropriate term to use for wallets imo, it should rather be either custodial or non-custodial, mind you also that a wallet might offer features such as Multisignature and 2fa, and yet be unsafe, thus there are more things to access about a wallet than just that.

Base on your question, I observed that you are a real newbie in the forum, even though you were introduced by someone to the forum, your newbie knowledge is manifesting. Well there is no specific wallet for newbies, all wallets are for newbies, you can use anyone but the wallet which is good for newbies is Electrum wallet. It is very easy to use and navigate, it has simple features to understand. You can read this to know more about Electrum wallet

I did not meant by same level of security and UI as to be exactly same instead the basic levelof security and UI of all the wallets are almost same and i even backed by statement with an example of Sending and receiving UI of each wallet is almost same. But still if you think my statement need exact or correct meaningful words to explain things out correctly then i am more than happy to change them. But my intention were same as you are saying here.

Second, i said some wallets are decentralized which means some are centralized which have the meaning that some wallets like Electrum and there is a centralized wallet like Binance wallet or Trust wallet but yeah i can also use the words of custodial and non custodial i think in flow i said decentralized and centralized by hey they reflect almost the same meanings here.

We usually use the terms "custodial" and "non-custodial" for comparing wallets and I don't think the terms "centralized" and "decentralized" are suitable for that.
A wallet is non-custodial, if it gives you access to private keys and it's custodial, if it doesn't give you access to private keys. If you mean the same thing by the terms "centralized" and "decentralized", take note that trustwallet gives you access to your keys and that's non-custodial.
Also, binance isn't a wallet. That's an exchange.

Honestly,  we all have found ourselves in this situation of being intimidated or trying to find an easy route to make all these crypto coins around us work for us with the best wallet, but tbh it's all about getting out of our comfort zone to learn this technology.

And just so you know, the cryptospace has never had a newbie wallet but for ease of use, mobile wallets are built with great user friendly interfaces which should be a great start and it's all about getting that familiarity to get any fear out and you will be a pro in no time, good luck Cool. Btw the way, if you can operate a smartphone or any computer without any difficulties,  trust me a crypto wallet won't be any difficulty just don't send coins to the wrong person  Grin

The most important thing about a Bitcoin wallet is how secure it is, and that's what a crypto newbie should be more concerned about than the tutorial feature of it. To set up a Bitcoin wallet, one doesn't need to even spend the whole day doing it, because as you are setting up your wallet, there is already some guidance that asks you to create a new wallet or import an old wallet, but that's if you already have an existing wallet, and after you have created your wallet, you will still be asked to copy out your seed phrase and keep it in a safe place, plus some warning like, "Never share your wallet seed phrase with anyone." Like others have mentioned, if you're looking for a secure Windows wallet, then I'll recommend Electrum, while for mobile, you can go with Bluewallet. If you have any difficulty setting up your wallet or how to use it, then if you ask a question on the forum, you will still get a lot of help.

Try faucets, also you can try creating crypto demo wallet accounts,

I'm sorry, but it seems to me that everything is much simpler. Here on the forum, is full of guides, for example from Ratimov, which are literally explained on the fingers. And in order not to understand them, you need to make great efforts. Using faucets, in our time, it seems to me, is a waste of time. Instead, it's enough to carefully read the Electrum manual, learn how to store your seed phrases, and start being independent.
OP, "the bicycle has long been invented", it is not worth reinventing it again. Start with theory and move smoothly to practice.

For the first stage of learning wallets, I suggest beginners try using the BlueWallet wallet on a smartphone.
Choose a wallet that is open source and BlueWallet is a very easy open source wallet to use on android or iOS.

If later the way to use it is smooth, it will also make it easier when using other best wallets such as Electrum.
Make sure to store the seed phrase properly in a place that no one can reach.

To use it, you can visit this thread. I think it will help. [Tutorial] BlueWallet - Bitcoin Wallet Discussion

I will check about the Exodus wallet and how it works. Hopefully, I'll learn a lot from it as well

You can create an account and posting in this forum, it's mean you have device, electricity and internet connection, so definitely you can have a Bitcoin wallet. It's fine to use hot wallet (where you use a device that connected with internet) to hold your coins, as long as the amount is small and you can afford to lose because hot wallet is hackable.

I will check about the Exodus wallet and how it works. Hopefully, I'll learn a lot from it as well
Don't use this wallet, this is one of wallet that should be avoided due to closed source.

There is no separate wallet for newbies, a new member can use the same wallet that an experienced and professional member uses. It is everyone's personal decision to use a wallet. Different members use different wallets considering different aspects. If you are a new forum member opening an account on a wallet you will never be asked your rank on the forum or you can still use any wallet if you are not a member of the forum. Considering the security aspect, people always prefer the more complete wallets. Wallets like Electrum Wallet, Mycelium Wallet, MyEthereum Wallet, Hardware Wallet etc. are generally considered by people as more secure complete wallets. You can use any of these wallets as a new member.

Mind you that you don't "open an account on a wallet", if there's anything like that then it is a custodial wallet, and custodial wallets are not safe wallets to use because you are not going to control the private keys/seed phrase.
Wallets like Electrum Wallet, Mycelium Wallet, MyEthereum Wallet, Hardware Wallet etc. are generally considered by people as more secure complete wallets. You can use any of these wallets as a new member.
MyEtherWallet is an Ethereum wallet, OP is looking for a Bitcoin wallet, whilst Mycelium is not a good wallet to recommend when there are better alternatives like Sparrow wallet or bluewallet.

When you talk about Newbie wallet, I guess what you meant is an easy to use, and user-friendly wallet, right? Because "Trust wallet" is the best option for that, due to it's simple, easy to use interface and it's option to add a new token or coin while selecting the right blockcain while running an airdrop & bounty hunt, making it the most popular among newbies.  But if you are looking for Bitcoin only wallet, then "Electrum" should be the best option for you, as it's got one of the best security and an option for mobile users (i.e android).

While reading the original post (OP), I find myself drawing parallels to guides for preschoolers. You know, those kids who are learning their ABCs. Or taking it to a more advanced level, it's akin to programming books for babies.

I do believe that what you are suggesting is feasible, but it requires someone to take the initiative to start such a project. They should consider first whether it's worth the investment of time, money, and effort.

Above all, even if you're still a newbie, you can learn to use the wallets we have simply by reading the guides and articles that are currently available.

In contributing to that I also think there should be tutorials held here on bitcointalk forum to educate newbies on the basics of crypto and also how to exchange them . Speaking from experience since I'm also a newbie ,I still find it difficult to understand how to change my coins to money .
Mate, there is nothing hard to understand about Bitcoin wallets because all the Bitcoin wallets out there are user-friendly.

As so many of my forum colleagues have provided links to recommended wallets that can be used by us all, you can go through the comments and get yourself a suitable wallet to be using, and trust me, they are easy to understand for all, which is why there is no specification for either a newbie or an expert in Bitcoin.

Totally agreed i was at fault as i said that in flow as i thought it might be somewhere easy for the OP to understand it but i think i should edit it to Custodial or non-custodial manner instead centralized or decentralized. I do know what custodial and non-custodial means but there are also terms for centralized and decentralized wallet and many people use them but still if members have issue and they think the usage of custodial and non custodial is better then i am all ok with it.

Newbies can also have their own wallet. It's not about ranks that you can have a wallet which means that everyone can have their own wallet and it's your responsibility to keep it safe so that no one other than you can have access to it. One more thing is that you should be careful to fraudulent activities like a fake wallet provider where you think you are going to import a wallet but they will only be able to know your wallet credentials. You can create a wallet using Electrum and it is for free. Before creating a wallet, reading the thread provided by zaguru would help you understand the types of wallets you can use.

I mean that wouldn't be necessary I mean there was no special treatment for newbies having their own wallet, and there was no perfect cryptocurrency wallet, but if all you want if information about the cryptocurrency wallet your lucky because you are in this forum, everything you need is already here to on starting your cryptocurrency journey so if you want a Bitcoin wallet I would suggest Electrum Wallet but there are still a lot of walletss out there that you could try just make sure to do the research about it, In my opinion, it is the most suitable and safest wallet for newbies, it is also easy to install I didn't really experience any issues on years of using it, you could just follow this instruction to Safely download and verify your electrum [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide].

I suggest continuing to learn more here in the forum, When i was just getting started choosing a wallet was actually difficult i mean it was just so complicated and everything was just new to me but if you're really interested in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin your gonna need to learn it and do it on your own.

I do not think that it would be feasible to create a wallet for beginners, given that they are beginners, and mistakes cannot be avoided unless you mean creating a smart wallet that can detect user errors, which does not seem logical if the user himself does not have sufficient knowledge of the basics of the blockchain.
On the other hand, there is a much better solution, which is to use the Bitcoin test network. It is a parallel network that operates with the same settings as the Bitcoin blockchain and was created for practice and learning purposes before passing to the main network. On this network there is a testnet bitcoin that has no market value and can be obtained for free from one of the available faucets or by requesting it from anyone who owns it.

So I'm asking if there can be wallets for newbies that'll contain tutorial measures on how to use it and it'll also be user friendly to newbies thereby helping them to learn all the basics of Bitcoin wallet
I was wondering what could have warrant this and from your statement, it points to the fact that, you want a user friendly and tutorial incorporated wallet.
Well, that’s what you’ve got on the forum, you can’t expect wallets to come with some ads and tutorials in between although, I see that on mycelium but the thing is, you feel more in control having an uninterrupted or undisturbed wallet through ads and those floating icons than you would in a wallet that lays out everything right before you.

What you need for tutorial is what you’ve got in this forum and that aside, wallets are often user friendly with most circulating about,
Send, History and Receive. The later to it might come in the form of, setting up fees (sat/byte), bumping fees, choosing a network and so on.

It’s more easy to operate a wallet and one could easily gain in on that.

Wallet is wallet It will not be anything else for beginners. So it is foolish for beginners to think of a separate wallet. But I have noticed that most people who are new to cryptocurrency use Trust wallet. this is enough for beginners as they don't hold large amounts of crypto. but gradually everyone should move towards a good non-custodial wallet and start using hardware wallet if possible.

Right you are The wallet never separates. Because the function of the wallet is to store the crypto and allow it to be managed as desired.  New Rau wallets are used to deposit crypto and old Rau wallets are used to deposit crypto for no other purpose.  But one thing here is safety, the more amount you hold, the more safety you need.  In that case it is necessary to use a separate wallet.so beginner or old bitcoin use can use same wallet as well

yes, I see some newbies I meet also use trust wallets. some even still don't have their own wallet and leave their assets on the exchange. even though they are not trading actively.
I was even surprised when I saw a friend who kept a sizable amount of Bitcoin in a trust wallet. and he doesn't know anything about hardware wallets. I suggested that he buy a hardware wallet but he ignored it. I can then only advise not to connect his wallet trust to the website carelessly. especially if they are active in the airdrop, there is a huge risk they will face if they carelessly connect their wallet.

This reminds me of the time when (almost) everyone used the blockchain.com wallet thinking it was the official wallet for bitcoins. Almost most of us used this wallet before understanding the basics of the blockchain. Then blockchain.com took advantage of the wallet's popularity, along with its blockchain browser, to launch its own trading platform. This is what is happening today with beginners and the Binance platform, as those who do not use their account on Binance as a private wallet use the TrustWallet. Unfortunately, it is not possible to correct the ideas of beginners about the differences between the different wallets, if they do not have the will to search, understand and learn.

Mind you that trust wallet is a closed source wallet, and it is not advisable to use closed source wallets (look at what happened to Atomic wallet), i don't use trust wallet, so i don't know if it is user-friendly like you say, but that's not still enough reason why one should choose "simple and easy to use" over their security. Electrum and other open source wallets i have used are also very user friendly and so easy to use, coupled with better security.

I don't think there is anything like newbies wallet but I know many of these non-custodial wallets always have a demo on how to use it. Anyone that is confused about how to use a wallet effectively can kindly search for videos online on how to use the Wallet safely if such a Wallet is a popular one people had been using. Any person that is confused too and can write to the team on complaints so that issue can  be resolved by the team. There are multiple wallets newbies can use on the internet that are very easy to use without any difficulty at all.

I think there are tons of guides in the internet that provide all the services and questions that you may need. In addition, you can also use a wallet and search for its corresponding YouTube videos for tutorials, etc. to fully grasp its entirety.

The internet is your friend- all of the information about a certain thing is one Google search away. Even if people were to create a newbie wallet, such use would be obsolete given that once you use a certain thing for a long time, you will become accustomed and knowledgeable on it.

That is why, I do recommend that you utilize the search bar in the forum if you have any questions about a certain wallet; search using Google; or create/open a thread for a discussion should you have questions about its use.

I know exactly what you are talking about and I agree that it can be daunting for new users to understand everything about a wallet but it's not that difficult once you get the hang of things.

I send all new users to use Blue Wallet because it has the best interface for an on-chain wallet with different accounts and ease-of-use. If someone needs a lightning wallet that is also incredibly convenient and with a clean interface, I refer them to Phoenix and sometimes Muun but they both have their own learning curves. New users need time to learn how to send and receive on lightning before they try to open their own channels and deal with Phoenix's fees, etc. Once they get familiar with how sending and receiving works, then I try to onboard them onto Sparrow Wallet for maximum control over their transactions and a whole number of good rabbit holes to learn from.

Hope this helps.

There is no particular Bitcoin wallet made for newbies only, every Bitcoin wallets are very easier to use but the problem is some are safe to use and some aren't, the difference is some are centralized wallet, they are custodial and the probably don't have private keys, you are going to log into the wallet using your email and password like when you trying to log into Twitter or your Gmail account, some give private keys but they have access to your fund..

The best wallets are blue wallet and Electrum wallet, download on your PC or mobile phone and keep the private keys to yourself only, do not share with any living soul, there is nothing hard about Bitcoin wallet, you can make transactions of them but verify the address you are sending the Bitcoin to because once you sent it out to another address there is no way to recover that Bitcoin.

Stay away from new crypto wallet that came out recently, they might be good but there is no way to proof them because no one or very less people are using such wallets, try staying with popular Bitcoin wallets that people are using, this is why I recommend blue wallet and Electrum wallet.

There is nothing like newbie bank right so why should there be newbie Bitcoin wallet. Before you join or take up wallet you should have done your research on how to run it up, there are always guides from the wallet that would help you navigate the wallet it self and everything is not complicated. I see no reason for a newbie account.
