Will it be safe to store assets on opera mini browser wallet?

I dey surprised to see say Opera Mini browser get wallet. E surprise me unto say I don dey use opera mini for a very long time I no notice am say that wallet dey there. Up till now I still dey wonder weda e dey safe for me to use or not, but in essence, I learnt something and what I learnt was that it is good to always Check for the features of anything around you or whatever you use because you just can't tell some major features and functions of it not until you do a further research on it or possibly a routine check to finding out some more features about it.

This is also applicable to human as well.  Going extra miles to discover your potentials  would keep you updated with your skills and energy as the case maybe. Nobody is dull or incapable. All Humans in one way or the other have some hidden potentials in them to discover and develop themselves. Just like I discovered Opera Mini app browser wallet today as I decided to do a routine check on the app browser, we can do same on ourselves to discover more hidden potentials in us.

Furthermore, I continued with finding more about the wallet and I noticed that the wallet features is quite different from other wallets I have used. Although you can generate wallet seed phrase and back it up. There is also test net futures on the wallet.

I believe most of us here are vast knowledgeable on wallets and it's safety that is why I brought it here because I was thinking of using the wallet but I remembered that my assets safety matters alot to me hence I decided to engage us in discussion here to know if it will be safe for using this wallet as I have not really seen opera mini do advert or anything of such to promote  the presence of their wallet on their app. Funny things happens these days so one needs be careful how they go about their assets when it comes to Safe keeping and choosing of wallets to store their assets.

Not until this moment, I must confess this is also my first time knowing that Opera Mini also have a wallet, because I just did a little research right now, and made to understand that the "wallet" is an inbuilt feature on the "Opera Mini" browser app, whereby it's also got other features such as A.I called "Meet with Aria" and a VPN for online privacy.
However, I have not use this before, and don't have much to say about it, but one thing for sure is that if this wallet is truly coming from official "Opera Mini" company itself, then it's likely to be legit. But moreover, always trade with caution by using an amount you can always afford to lose if you will like to give it a try (i.e test it).

I haven't used such wallet before and I don't know how secured it is. It is better that you stay on the safe side and used the most common mobile wallet that people are using like electrum and blue wallet instead of you thinking of trying something new. Remember it is better to stay safe when it comes to wallets that are needed to save your coins. No one is going to recommend the OP to store assets on opera mini browser wallet for obvious reasons. First and foremost for me the most important feature to look out for when choosing a wallet is the source type. That is, is it  closed-source or open-source? My question to the OP is this, is the opera mini browser wallet open source or closed-source. If it is closed-source you cannot inspect the code to know if there is a security leak in there or not to steal your asset. I have been using Electrum wallet for Desktop for some months now and I do recommend it.

It is okay and safe to some degree to try using the Opera mini browser wallet to store your coins. OP did a good findings which i believe not everybody knows about it here but I do not see it safe and advisable to use such wallet when one does not know the security features of such wallet. I have not really seen or heard opera mini doing any promotion or awareness of such wallet and from what I can see it looks like  third party affiliation which would require one to be very cautious while dealing. Better still, it would be nice one use it for lesser transactions as to avoid hearing the story that touches the heart.

I hate opera Mini browser because of it misbehavior when using it enter Bitcointalk. There are some the browser will disappear with whatever you have written. So it has been a very long time that I used this browser. The browser is not just friendly with me so I also abandoned it like that. For what you said op and what others have said, it is not advisable to use online wallet for storing coins. @Dr.Bitcoin_Strange said he has used it before and that means there is an element of genuineness it not I would have said you should not even use it for transactions. It's all been spoken by you. The security of our coins, as the OP also noted, should be our main priority. I have seen several discussions that oppose using online wallets, and I am confident that this one is no different. Not Your Keys, Not Your Coin is a catchphrase that reminds us that investing in such wallets is not a good idea.

But di best wallet to store your crypto funds na hardware wallets like Trezor, Coldcard, Password etc. but if you no fit afford a HW wallet you fit settle for an open source wallet like Electrum, Sparrow or Bluewallet to store your funds. Always remember to download from the official website to avoid stories that touch di heart.

I could not remember when Opera mini introduced this wallet, that should be around 2019 or 2020. I tested it out when they included it. It is not recommendable at all. Opera mini is a browser and it should not be taken more than being a browser when there are many wallets that are existing.

I will suggest Electrum, Sparrow, Bluewallet and Specter for bitcoin wallet.
I will recommend Unstoppable for altcoins.

If you want a safe option, use an open source wallet that can run on an airgapped device and make airgapped device for yourself. Or just buy an open source hardware wallet.

Hey mate please do not involved yourself with any silly wallet address because you can never tell about their backend because such wallet can be created to monitor individual asset whenever a fund is being transferred into the wallet it might got stolen from you without any noticed.
Sometimes if we are exploring or making some findings we should be very mindful not to endanger ourselves or even risk our live time savings into something we know that can't be trusted and reliable for any day, Yes I know it's good discover things by ourselves but let it be that such wallet is trusted alternatively have some positive reviews or ratings.

I think some wallet has been referred by someone above so if you want those wallet you can go directly from their official website to download it or you can as well check on playstore. Usually since I don't store my fund in one wallet, like sig address is from trustwallet which is not trust or reliable to store asset for long so what I does is to receive and the I send out to another wallet which I think is more reliable for me to store my funds.

I have gone through those wallets and they seems to be reliable compared to this and I have as well done my findings too. The wallets recommended are quite alright and well secured to use for storing of assets and funds as the case may be but even at then one should not be too comfortable with some of them as even the producers can not guarantee you your assets safety.

The thought of hackers alone makes me think twice before carrying out any transaction on chain because of my past experience. Scammers never relent on their scamming innovation to get at more victims. One really needs to be extremely cautious and careful so as not to fall prey to them.

To be frank with you I never knew opera mini has crypto wallet attached their app until I saw this post after OP had called our attention that day this post was made.
 I had to do the check for myself and confirmed it to be true that same day. I gave an advise that day and I would still say it again. From my findings it seems that wallet has a third party affiliation with Opera Mini browser so therefore any one dealing should be very much careful and alert so as not to be taken unawares because anything CB an happen and Opera Mini would not be held responsible as you are solely responsible for the security of your assets and funds.
