If you are referring to the impact of BRICS toward world economy then that's bad for whole world because most of the countries in the world are using US dollar as there national reserves and if you are asking what impact does this alliances will make for the whole world then that's will be a productive one too. Because if they do what they really say then there will be more goods in the market more diamonds, more agriculture business, more energy production units, more foreign business will tend to join.

And if they do it rightly, then along with Africa those who are from Africa spread in worldwide countries will get some relief and could do some more productive works. Overall, the countries are connected sorry not countries the impact of such decisions are connected between citizens of one country spread all along the world. One who is in Spain, US, in any other country doing something productive then the rate will increase.

No to mentioned the import and export will also increase of your country with other countries and also other countries will also make money so one country is making profit out of another.

Nope. There could be a war that will spill over there since the Wagner group is already there supporting the Niger coup leaders. The African leaders are pushing away the French bases in those countries you mention. Wherever the Wagner Army goes, there is always going to be a purpose and because they are on the side of African leaders, it seems like the West will have no power over them unless they fight over for the resources they wanna plunder.

All economies are already suffering though. I bet they all are just planning for economies to fall so they all could launch their digital currencies, the idea was been fed to many influencers.

Everyone should learn to have independency of their own, if we look at the aftermath of the courtesy visit from the African countries over the war to end the whole crisis, have we gotten anything new seing as change ever since, Africa is too small to make a delicable impact towards this if the US and NATO couldn't effect any change towards ending the war despite all their efforts, everyone should be on their own for now, if partnership and relationship mean harm then it's as nothing being done at all.

It is ironic.... how the political and economic systems of the countries work, alliances are essential for them because it allows them to have more resistance and new benefits for each nation. Now this alliance will probably have an impact on the economy perhaps not as noticeable to the rest of the world, but it could specifically bring good things to Russia, since if we think about it, this territory is going through a conflict that, although it caused it, has severely harmed it, trying to generate agreements with other countries can help it remain stable and not collapse due to the sanctions that have been implemented, one of the reasons why I consider that it has been The war against Ukraine has spread so much, since the countries that are against Russia have not managed to weaken it to such an extent that they have forced it to give in, due to this type of event, what i Wonder now is...for how long will it continue the war if it continues to be fed from outside?

I think Russia are strengthening alternative markets in Africa to reduce the impact of the boycotts that are placed on them by the "West". They also have surplus grain that can be used to garner support for their trading relationships. (Grain is one of the staple foods in Africa and Russia can exploit that by giving out FREE grain donations to garner their support)

There has always been a strong political tie between Russia and the African nations, because a lot of the African countries have communist roots. (They were colonized by the West and they were helped by Russia to gain back the control over their countries)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

There is always a shrimp behind a rock in anything including what Russia is doing this time, it is true what you say that he aims to make Africa an alternative market for them and avoid boycotts of western countries which make it difficult to trade and make profits, the alternative is create their own markets, this partnership will certainly help African countries and Russia to avoid everything that is being done by western countries that torture them.
Political ties cannot be released, this is the main way to make them connected to each other.
But what effect will it have on the world economy?, I think it is quite difficult to predict if it will be negative for the global economy, because this is only trade and political relations, unless Russia forces Africa to limit activities with countries affiliated with western countries, such as limiting the use of the dollar and whatever is done by western countries on African soil, the economic polarization will change. IMO

Just like your rightly put, Russia and African summit.
I believe is to majorly strengthen their economic ties, Russia too want to explore the African continent just the way the western countries are doing. Everything boils down to development of the African continent and what Russia stands to benefits in doing so, the African continent has suffered decades of underdevelopment and poor economy strength to strive. So having discussion's like this is a welcome development. But However, I don't see any war happening, whatever alliance the counties you mentioned are forming, is basically for business and economics strengthening because I believe they cannot be gathering for war purposes but for the good of their people. just as, Winston Churchill will say, "it is better to jaw-jaw than to war-war".

For now, we'd just have to look on and pretend the intentions of Putin are genuine. I mean, we all know that he doesn't try to hide his detestation of the West and anything that can affect them sorely, he's game.
I wouldn't call this an alliance but a subtle method for him to gain control of Africa because in truth, there's not much Africa countries are benefiting economically from them as he's not looking to invest but these African countries see no problem with that. For them, just having Russia with them gives them some validation of power.
So far, it's just four African countries that Russia trades with; Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and South Africa and since Africa contributes for about 2.4% of the world's GDP, I doubt it would affect. All Putin is concerned about from this so called alliance is to slowly dominate and since they are gullible it would allign with his vision of a multipolar international system

With the establishment of New World Order we entered a new transitional phase where the world experiences significant changes all over. One of these major changes is happening in Africa as many of the African countries are currently kicking the colonizers (ie the Western Bloc) out and are trying to regain their independence.
This means when the Eastern Bloc including Russia is currently at war with the Western Bloc, there will be a lot of such alliances between the East and Africa that is kicking West out. In other words it can not be analyzed as an isolated event, it has to be analyzed in the stream of events taking place around the world.

As for the effects on world economy, it is another step in the transitional phase during which we will experience periods of high volatility. For example France that was stealing a ton of resources from many African countries that have kicked them out is going to experience a lot of resource "supply" problems in the near future which will in turn have a considerable impact on the French economy. Meanwhile as those countries take over their own resources and money they will start seeing economic growth during that time.

Africa is essentially free domain. They're malleable to whatever geopolitical forces enter the region and the government is receptive to such forces. I've always believed its within African countries interest to distance themselves from foreign influence in order to rid themselves of dependency. The politicians benefit from these partnerships, never the constituency.

The immediate impact on the global economy is nonexistent because Africa as a whole has a small GDP. Shipping routes and logistics aren't a concern as of yet either, so there would be virtually zero impact in that regard. Private companies who have interest in African minerals/resources are probably paying close attention, though.

A good example of "the economic impact of the union of Russia and African countries Smiley
King Mswati III of Swaziland, after Putin, after the summit, canceled his debts (by the way debts of the USSR, not Russia), Mswati bought 19 Rolls Royce Cullian cars. For his 15 wives and himself. The people of Swaziland got... You know what....
And all this alliance - it is not for the sake of creation, but for the sake of creating a semblance of importance of Russia on the African continent. By the way, you remember that only 1/3 of those invited to the summit "Africa-Russia" came to the summit. And now evaluate the economies of the countries present. Most of them are depressed economies. How can they do anything? The only potential "benefit" is the minerals that Russia will try to monopolize in order to sell through African countries and get foreign exchange income.

And a few words about the "amazing coincidences" before the summit: how fortunate everything happened in Niger. It looks like the Transahara gas pipeline project from Nigeria to Europe via Niger and Algeria will never materialize. Europe was planning to receive 30 billion cubic meters of Nigerian gas through it. Guess what is the purpose of NOT selling gas to the EU? And who benefits? Smiley

While residents in places which do significant export - import trade with africa might be affected.

The rest of the world probably won't notice repurcussions.

Thank you @pooya87 for speaking the truth. Most nations pretend that Africa is insignificant to the global economy. Yet they are scrambling to establish their influence on the continent. The Western powers are pushing West African nations to go to war against Niger because they want to reinstall democracy. But this country has been under French economic exploitation and oppression. Their central bank is integrated with the French Central Bank yet the country is one of the poorest in the world. France is not concerned about the growth of the economy, neither are they concerned about good governance of Niger but their main concern is to exploit raw materials.

African nations should seize this opportunity to make hard choices. They should strive towards economic independence and not rely on either the Eastern or Western bloc. Their focus should be on how to make favorable bilateral deals with any bloc that will promote the development of the continent.

The immediate impact on the global economy is nonexistent because Africa as a whole has a small GDP. Shipping routes and logistics aren't a concern as of yet either, so there would be virtually zero impact in that regard. Private companies who have interest in African minerals/resources are probably paying close attention, though.
If Africa is insignificant in the global economy, why are Russia and the West scrambling to control the economy of the continent? Without African resources many industries in Europe will lack major resources and the impact will be felt globally.

I do believe in Africa's eventual prosperity, and that it's an underestimated continent. But it's still struggling a lot, following a long colonial history that made sure that what Africa can give to the world would be systemically undervalued, and that regions would simply be exploited by the richer nations. So for now, it's not looking good overall, with high rates of violence and poverty, very high rate of corruption and low GDP, a lot of dictatorships, etc.
Russia plays their card of opposing Western imperialism really well with Africa, making sure it is seen as the strongest force actively opposing the countries that made things so hard for Africa. Too bad that many countries don't care to see that Russia still follows a strong imperialist mindset, and it led to lots of colonization and suffering of other nations as well.
But whatever's going on there, it's small in comparison with Western economies and solidarity, so I don't think there will be any measurable impact of this alliance on the World Economy. Russia is slowly drowning because of the war it's waging against Ukraine, and it's going to drag other countries along with it.

The Western powers are pushing West African nations to go to war against Niger because they want to reinstall democracy.
Armed conflict is going to be the biggest challenge in front of Africa in the coming year or two. And considering how multiple African nations have expressed their support for Niger, there will either be no war or a much bigger war between multiple nations.
After that if Africa succeeds in kicking the colonizes out, that won't be the end. They should expect Cold War which will be in many forms from subsequent coups to sanctions and foreign made crises trying to destabilize and weaken the newly formed independence.

After all this has always been the strategy of the Western Colonizers! We've experienced our fair share of it over the past century or two in Iran. In fact these days are the anniversary of the 1953 US/UK orchestrated coup to remove the democratically elected prime minister of Iran to give the power back to the dictator of the time!

The good news is that the West is not the same power it once was and the Eastern powers are now revived and some are supporting that independence. On top of that new non-Western international organizations such as BRICS are going to provide the economical strength needed for Africa's independence.
The other good news is that Africa can also use the experience of others that have walked in that path before them and learn from their mistakes.

Another bad news for "African friends of Russia" is Russia's attempt to make these African countries its raw material appendages and kill their economies by switching to ruble payments. This project is a pathetic parody of China's project "BRICS dedolarization = BRICS Yuanization". Smiley

But if in yuanization they just involve not very smart rulers of some countries, then "rubleization" is built on lies, corruption and theft. I know that corruption in some African countries is on a gigantic scale. After the arrival of "Russian friends" the level of corruption will increase by orders of magnitude, and accordingly the lives of ordinary people in these countries will go down, although you probably thought that it could not be worse. In addition to the fall in living standards, these countries will also face wild destabilization, civil wars, and deaths. Why? Because this is Russia's favorite method of "solving" its problems in the region. I will remind you - terrorism/destabilization/civil conflicts "staged" and "conducted" by Russia - Armenia/Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine, now Niger and other African countries where military coups are being organized/prepared.
In a word - if you are preparing to be friends with Russia - prepare for huge problems and troubles that the Kremlin ghouls will bring to your countries....

Russian is a big partner for Africa, they not only provide arms exports, but also security with their mercenary groups like Wagner. Right now, there are a lot of conflicts in Africa and the West is struggling to support countries in central Africa. Niger for example had a military coup and the world is not working together to resolve the issue. There are countries now supporting Niger, then there are neighbour countries that want to attack it and restore the previous president and there is the former colonial power France that tries to intervene as well. What surprises me the most was a survey in the countries that asked the people who they would prefer to see and intervene in the conflicts, the majority voted not for USA or Europe, but rather for Russia. Russia seems to be more open towards the military needs of those countries and has no restriction on arms exports, compared to the West that focuses more on humanitarian missions. For the world this is a problem, because countries are not working together anymore and there is a lot of rivalry.

All peoples and states need to clearly understand that Russia never does anything for free. If they talk about it, then we should expect trouble and future military conflicts, hybrid wars with the help of private military companies financed from the Russian budget, devastation and poverty. Russia's neighbors have long understood this clearly. A significant part of African states already know this as well, which is why Putin did not achieve his goal at the African summit in St. Petersburg.

But before talking about the impact of the alliance between Russia and African countries, it is necessary to see what will happen to Russia itself in a few years and how the war unleashed by it in Ukraine will end. It is quite possible that African countries will have to deal with many individual republics in the place of today's Russia.

The use of dialogue seems to be the main weapon at the disposal of the ECOWAS. Delegates led by a former Nigerian military leader Abdulsalami Abubakar have been sent to meet the Niger military leaders and for the first time, they had access to these leaders and the ousted president Mohamed Bazoum. The coup leaders have also proposed a three-year transition program which to me is too long. These leaders should know that that region is under serious attack from ISIS, Boko Haram, and other militant group. ECOWAS troops will be unable to handle the outcome of a conflict in that region. The outcome will be more disastrous than what is happening in Libya. Protests are still going on against any military intervention by ECOWAS with many citizens willing to volunteer to protect their country. To show their solidarity Mali and Burkina Faso has dispatched warplanes to Niger.

The price for freedom from exploitation should be paid if Africa wants to develop. After all other nations have survived with multiple sanctions from powerful nations. They should go and learn from these nations how they survived these sanctions. Africa should not be under the influence of any bloc but we can be trading partners. If you really want to help us develop, don't focus on just our raw materials, build industries in our lands and help us achieve economic growth.

This topic is similar to the one gantez by titled, The impact of Russian and Ukraine war on world economy. The world watched Putin gather some African leaders for the Russia-Africa Summit at St. Petersburg in July. This was the first of its kind. According to them the aim was to strengthen the economic ties between Russia and Africa. During the meeting they discussed sustainable diamond mining, SME partnerships, agribusiness, energy cooperation, logistics routes, and financial security. What the whole world is observing now is detachment of some of these African countries, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, from the West and they are forming a strong alliance backed by Russia and a some other countries. We already know about the BRICS which include countries like Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Their aim at developing trade and economic cooperation among its member nations. Seeing all of these, what do you guys think will be the impact of the Russian African alliance on the world economy. We know there is no war right now but the rhetoric and tensions all over is being felt worldwide. Would the world economy suffer or would we be fine?

I don't give a single attention about Media and Russia this and that; wasn't United States been friendly to the African countries in the 80s, 90s and early 2000. The Britains where there before even the US until they broke the chain of colonizations to become fully independent and then US step in mill their natural resources but today, what is Africans position in the world today? Nothing!

Forming alliance with Russian was because Russia has something they have, partnerships can only happen when it is mutual for both parties, Putin has what the African have and because he knew US is dependent on them, he became the good angel, belive him at your own peril but that guy is a mecinery, heard they even free the loans there lend to Africa and new partnership begins, who does that? There is something fishy about his friendship but as I said, the media will let you know what you want to know because that's what they do best.

Wasn't the same African countries that are running to Russian were once partners of ECOWAS, they pledge for unity to uphold wesrern Africa but today, it's now in divisions because many of the countries has led a coup that has threaten democracy in the country, how will that work when people's choice is not allow to work. The military are only making mistakes they would regret but it's to early to know that for now.

If we talk about the impact, of course this will have an impact on the world economy, albeit slowly. If you want to defeat the West, don't go to war but destroy its economy, withdraw all countries rich in natural resources, especially mineral and natural energy resources such as oil, gas, coal, nuclear materials and others. Surely western countries are chuckling. And continue to change currency exchange rates in trade transactions, throw away dollars and euros, the western economy will surely be more and more destroyed.

So that more and more countries leave dependence on the west with fair and mutually beneficial cooperation without embargoes, pressure or discrediting other nations as inferior. Putin is indeed a smart leader in fighting western hegemony by attracting many influential countries, especially those rich in natural resources, to join non-Western international organizations such as the BRICS. Attracting many oil-producing Gulf countries will certainly be able to hit the western economy, especially in terms of energy and there will be no more petro dollars in the Gulf countries. Imo, the African-European trade was like modern colonial slavery. From chocolate to nickel, they supply Europe at low prices using a system of coercion and even using children. So they have a cheap supply of Nickel and Cocoa, while HAM and the UN are only calling for an end to fake African slavery. this is a good move for Africa to be independent with the help of Russia, they have a chance to escape European slavery. I support Russia in this.

What is being asked in this topic is "Would the world economy suffer or would we be fine?" when Russia and Africa began to build strong relations in the economic sector so that both of them could carry out several things that the OP had mentioned in this topic, including diamond mining, SME partnerships, agribusiness, energy cooperation, logistics routes, and financial security. But in this discussion you are explaining options for destroying the western economy, even though Russia and Africa are cooperating in several economic fields only to make themselves better than western countries.

Quote
So that more and more countries leave dependence on the west with fair and mutually beneficial cooperation without embargoes, pressure or discrediting other nations as inferior. Putin is indeed a smart leader in fighting western hegemony by attracting many influential countries, especially those rich in natural resources, to join non-Western international organizations such as the BRICS. Attracting many oil-producing Gulf countries will certainly be able to hit the western economy, especially in terms of energy and there will be no more petro dollars in the Gulf countries.
The Russian side may have thought of this beforehand because Russia also wants to become an independent country in terms of the economy, which gave birth to the idea of building a non-Western international organization such as the BRICS. So that countries that support Russia will no longer depend on the dollar and will only develop the currency of their respective countries in all international trade so that this might have an impact on the economic development of western countries which are still very supportive of the dollar.

Quote
Imo, the African-European trade was like modern colonial slavery. From chocolate to nickel, they supply Europe at low prices using a system of coercion and even using children. So they have a cheap supply of Nickel and Cocoa, while HAM and the UN are only calling for an end to fake African slavery. this is a good move for Africa to be independent with the help of Russia, they have a chance to escape European slavery. I support Russia in this.
I still don't think too deeply about this kind of thing because things like this are also influenced by the sophistication of factories that are owned in every country in the west. Because Africa probably doesn't have a factory to process raw chocolate and Nickel so that it becomes a more useful item in life, so it's still happening now and I don't think it's because of compulsion. But because the capabilities of countries in Africa are still very low when compared to countries in the West.

[....] Seeing all of these, what do you guys think will be the impact of the Russian African alliance on the world economy.
It's probably a bad thing for Western countries that rely on raw materials coming from these African nations. The Niger coup and the news of stopping export of Uranium to European countries created some waves already so imagine what would happen if all members of BRICS started to trade among each other exclusively.

We all know the important role of Africa in the stability of the global economy, and it is certain that any possible change in the continent's public policies will have a significant impact. However, in principle, it cannot be recognized that this change will be good or bad, since most African countries are subject to indirect colonization by countries outside the continent.
After the recent Russian-African summit, it became clear that there is a great wave of change taking place in the continent. It is clear that this is not confidence in the Russian ally as much as it is a desire to stop the Western countries' exploitation of them.
Currently, the situation in Niger is what will determine the change in the continent, whether it will continue or will return to the Western bosom.

I don't think people from African countries are fully aware of the implication of a close alliance with Russia and China. To me, Putin and Xi are not truly interested in the development of the continent, but they are interested in taking advantage of the political weaknesses and the economics of those countries to take over in an indirect way and dispose of the natural resources of the African people.

I don't doubt that after this coup, the Kremlin will intensify their propaganda machine in Africa to try to turn as many Republics as possible against the United States and the western model of democracy. Putin wants to count on more Small Russian Federations in Africa.

We all know that these new found alliance is not majorly for economic development or purpose but it may be the aftermath of such coming together. Russia is trying to build a strong friendship outside Europe and America being the one they are also shielding themselves from. Most of what we are seeing in the interest of Russia in Africa was born out of the economic sanctions from Europe and NATO for invading Ukraine. Russia and China are basically wanting to develop a strong unit among other smaller countries while they play the big man role of protection because of their military strength just same role US is playing in NATO and the world. But no doubt such alliance will eventually lead to economic growth from the competition of who is able to influence the Africa continent more. It use to be US and China (in terms of business) but now Russia is coming into the picture and I believe African continent might withness some growth in certain countries but there will be exploitation in certain cases.

Since the Ruble's pretty much closed off to the world economy, I don't think this particular alliance's going to cause some effect towards the world economy. Although the war mobilization and further attacks on NATO nations as well as Ukraine that this alliance could promote could produce some massive detriments to the economy as we steer towards a world war. Regardless, this only means that we should always be wary, and the US should prepare itself for war, cause the only thing we're getting out of this is if either country/alliance stops with their advance, or if they commit to the cause and issue a declaration of war which is more likely to happen than the former. Regardless, let's just hope for the best and assume that these countries are just doing these alliances for the sake of protection.

For me it looks like a well planned strategy for the future. For Russia the geography is not very well settled on the western side due to their ongoing war. On the easy borders they have the biggest enemy that is America closer than we think. This makes them devoid of strategic geography due to the current sanctions.

If they want to build the roads for future preparation then they have India as friendly alliance, and then exactly to the west of India they could have Africa. This gives them immense benefit of friendly alliance, strategies geography to run their operations and invisibly they could this under the name of bringing business partnership with the African leaders. Idk, but this really sound like Russia.  Tongue

I'm sorry to disappoint you. Russia's goals are absolutely not in favor of the countries it is trying to "take over".....
Russia's main goal in Africa today:
- To disrupt the project to bring gas from Nigeria to the EU.
- To create another hotbed of instability where France, the US and other countries will be drawn in to weaken their aid to Ukraine.
- Destabilize the grain market, and manipulate supplies, and primarily to African countries. To create the status of a "savior" and earn additional currency on the sale of grain.
- Gain access to the resources of these "friends" - gold, diamonds, oil, ..... to sell through their companies and receive foreign currency proceeds, without which the russian economy is bursting at the seams.

I think for you it is not a secret and not a discovery that PMC Wagner, in addition to destabilization, is engaged in raiding of deposits and raw materials companies, which "quietly" go under the management of protégés from Russia.

So much hate and pressure on Russia. What good really has your country or Continent dome for Africans,  Africa? There's a lot to be said but it's best the west  and whoever not in support of Africa's growth back off for good.
Your listed goals of Russia here are not true you're just terribly vexed for the fact that they are helping Africans chase Europeans who have done more harm than good to them. What are the motives of France pushing ECOWAS to hunt down Niger? Selfish No?
Russia and Putin just strengthened Niger, Burkina Faso and Co to help them fight against Nato and the West indirectly.

In reality the trade between Africa and Russia amounts to very little. It basically boils down to oil and grain, the first is extremely hard for Africa to get hold of due to all the sanctions making it difficult for it to be profitable to export and Africa can probably produce it cheaper right now. Russia's second major export being grain is also blocked in many cases from reaching Africa, due to the economic blockade it tries to impose on Ukraine in the Black Sea, which is rather ineffective but also reciprocated - making the area too dangerous for shipping right now. Being allied with Russia is pretty much a liability, the only thing they seem to be doing right now is creating greater instability in Africa by undermining sovereign governments and supporting rebels to overthrow them for no benefit to the average citizen.

Yeah, and I'm not hiding it. Because Russia has already entered my country like this - "we will help you", "we are brotherly peoples, we are your friends", "we will save you from the USA"..... Now we have dozens of cities and thousands of villages destroyed, hundreds of thousands of civilians killed, entire regions plundered, everything from factories and grain to toilet bowls stolen ...
By the way, they are trying to "gift" the stolen grain to African countries" as a "grand gesture". Giving stolen grain is of course a great policy.

And regarding your disagreement with the above mentioned goals of Russia - please refute it with arguments ? And let's discuss this truth, which you don't like, or my fantasies ?

PS Yes, and you can see for yourself what "help in the fight against NATO and the West" looks like. - compare Donetsk and Luhansk region before the Russian world came, and see how the DNR/LNR cloacas live now. The same goes for Moldova and PMR. The same is Georgia and Abkhazia....

It's actually the whole of Africa, and even the world. it's in their own interest to be led by Russia rather than the current US & her allies. Those who refuse are easily doomed unless they are True Christains operating independently.
But this is temporal, in less than 2 years they will be handed over to US again.

In regards to the economy, it depends on the countries, whether they will do what they are told to do by those that lead them, or whether they will do what is right. If they are told to do what is right and they do it and keep doing what's right, their economies will prosper. So, each country can choose to do what's right to prosper individually.

Actually, African countries don't want to be led by other powers, but by themselves. This isn't the 20th century anymore, colonialism is long dead.

That's why they're lining up to apply for BRICS membership, and who knows, it could jump from having 5 to a dozen or two in a very short time. And perhaps even force a name change in the process.

Good point about the long-standing demise of colonialism.
The question is what prevented a lot of countries in Africa, after they got their freedom, from establishing economies, lives...? the U.S., France, maybe Norway or Britain?  Who is it now fashionable to blame for--  their own laziness and corruption ? Smiley
Why is it that some African countries, being colonies in the past, have good economies, high standard of living, stability, good relations with the whole world.
Or is there something wrong with them ? Again the insidious USA and France, to spite the inhabitants of these countries, have created good conditions there ? Smiley

And only a bunch of countries live with coups, seizures, and destabilization, looking for "guilty".

You forgot about uranium. Until recently, Niger supplied 35-40% of uranium ore to France, but now it does not. Against this background, France has serious problems with fuel's safety for its nuclear power plants. Of course, it is impossible not to see the insidious hand of the Kremlin in this. Grin

Seeing all of these, what do you guys think will be the impact of the Russian African alliance on the world economy. We know there is no war right now but the rhetoric and tensions all over is being felt worldwide. Would the world economy suffer or would we be fine?
Africa's economy will improve mostly and be affected by the new changes because many of their resources in raw materials which have been transported across borders to be refined in other countries and create jobs for the people in that country will now be refined in their own country creating jobs for their citizens and sold to the world. For the world economy, it will have a leveling effect on countries that had industries that refine the raw materials from Africa. They will have a reduced supply of raw materials and as a result will be forced to let go of some workers.

Russia understands that looking for business partners is most likely with African countries, this is because besides Africa, almost all of them are allies with the USA, and other points, of course, the market in Africa is still very good, so this can improve the Russian economy, and of course for the world economy. would be a positive thing because it could see developments in Africa.

Russia's interest in working with African countries reflects its desire to forge new partnerships and explore opportunities for mutual benefit.
And in Africa there are many valuable resources and cheap labor, but there are many infrastructural problems and local conflicts. Therefore, it is extremely important for Russia to quickly seize all opportunities that can lead to the creation of new jobs and the creation of new companies.

Against this background, France has serious problems with fuel's safety for its nuclear power plants. Of course, it is impossible not to see the insidious hand of the Kremlin in this. Grin

Did not forget. Not listed as non-critical resource. Yes, you are right in the sense that France specifically has a problem due to the "long habit" of obtaining uranium in the country you specified. I completely agree. But, as always, there are nuances Smiley
Just open statistics on uranium mining:
World reserves of natural uranium are estimated at 6.14 million tons, of which 28% are in Australia, 15% in Kazakhstan and 9% in Canada. They are followed by Russia and Namibia, which account for 8% and 7%, respectively. Uzbekistan with reserves of 132 thousand tons (2% of world reserves) ranks 11th in the world.
Where is Niger? Oh ... He produces noticeably less than 2% of world production. Do you think France will not find a replacement? Well, I agree - it’s possible (I don’t have the information, I won’t invent it), they used to buy it VERY cheap, although I doubt that it was many times cheaper than the market. Now will buy a little more expensive . Where is the problem ?

PS Deliveries ceased in 2023, and only after the military anti-constitutional coup. In the event of a return to legality, state contracts will resume again.

UPD. I apologize, I mixed up the data. Objectively, Niger produces 4.7% of the world's uranium, and ranks 7th.
But, it's still less than 5% of the market, and only the problem of France

We live in a really cruel world... Some countries on the African continent want to mobilize for their ideal of full independence, but I don't know if they can achieve it. Cooperating with Russia means that you are isolated by the capitalist class. Can your young population stay away from pringles and play station? Can they live without lipton and doritos? Can they be provoked by 5th column activities when they are away from these products? I wish the war between Russia and Ukraine to end as soon as possible, but when I make an independent analysis outside this war, I see that rapprochement with Russia brings some economic challenges. Your rulers wanted an independent country, but have you prepared your young generations for this?  I think that rapprochement with Russia is not sustainable, so I think that this kind of alliances can have small effects on the world economy, but not permanent damage...

Two birds with one stone!

Putin just took revenge on Wagner bosses by eliminating them in the same distance from Moscow they used to be when they were trying to have their coup. This seems like the last step to remove all the domestic "enemies of Russia". #firstbird

With the situation in Africa and Wagner being present there going face to face with the colonizers (namely European "powers" like France) and the elimination of the Wagner bosses, it is possible that this would open Africa for France and others to invade easier. Specially since France is already getting ready to do so.
But that also means NATO will have to shift its focus from fighting Russia to fighting in newly opened battlefield thousands of kilometers in the opposite direction, which is obviously in favor of Russia and it is possible that they would start advancing in Ukraine at the same time. #secondstone

The way I see it these days the colonizers are facing two main options, one worse than the other.
1. They accept Niger putting a boot up their asses and accept Niger independence.
This means more nations would rise up against the colonizers kicking them out of the rest of Africa which means the end of Western Hegemony. Which means more economic crisis in the West. Which means more energy crisis in Europe. Which means the gas bills that reached 11k euro last year could reach 50k euros this winter. Which means more deindustrialization. Which means more people being fired from their jobs compared to last year....

2. They go in with full military force
This means weaker NATO in the Eastern front facing Russia which means Russia advancing more taking the last remaining cities to cut the connection to the sea.
This also means NATO forces being massacred in Africa since Africa today is not the same as 200-300 years ago where they could go in and enslave people. They're armed and ready and most importantly have strong "friends" ... Lets just say the sound of lawnmowers will be heard in the sky. Wink

Typical "wet dreams" Smiley

NATO will not take part in restoring order and destroying illegal gangs.
This is the destiny of France, and ECOWAS. Others don't care about these issues. Although I do not exclude that the terrorist country Russia, I WANTED to create another zone of tension and divert NATO to it, but, as always, screwed up, as expected Smiley
The Wagner terrorist gang has a rather specific structure and management. They are very devoted to their leader, who until recently was almost the right hand of the international criminal Putin. But the "spiders in the bank" staged their showdown. Now the Wagner fighters, who were "relocated" to Belarus in order to destabilize the situation on the Belarus-Poland border, are returning to Russia, and it is possible that they will arrange another "putsch". Especially when they captured Russian cities - they were very warmly received by the public Smiley
So there are options for the development of diametrically opposite scenarios - the strangulation of gang formations in Africa, including the remnants of the Wagner gang, and a new internal conflict between PMC Wagner and the Kremlin ghouls

This alliance between African countries and Russia is only serving Russia in my opinion and what I have seen from Algeria which is my country. President Tebboune visited russia to make the friendship stronger and show his support for the war against Russia with a mutual benefit as Algeria now can ask Russian soldiers to help fighting the enemy in our borders. In exchange of buying more Russian weapons and also provide them with resources that Algeria has in Sahara.
But for us as normal people we are suffering more from this alliance as trades stopped between us and European countries, paying more taxes and higher prices and cost of living, Algeria spent much money to join the BRICS organization and failing at the end which lead to huge losses without any results.
The impact of all this is only serving Russia since i believe it’s the same  thing happening with all African countries hosted in Russia unfortunately. Only politicians and names that benefit from this while normal people like us suffer war and poverty.

Hearing from citizens of a country and understanding their situation is the best means of getting a clear picture more than theoretical explanations. Most of the information we get from major news outlets are tainted or diluted to benefit certain people. From your explanation, Russia doesn't have the economic power to replace Western countries. Sanctions from some European nations are having a big negative impact on the Algerian economy because they depend on Europe for many goods.

This will be the problem of many countries that want to de-dollarize their economy or join the BRICS alliance. Most of them will suffer economic consequences because of their over-dependence on the Western bloc. For now, The NATO state economy will be very difficult to bypass. Even Russia has not fully recovered from Western sanctions, so it might not help other nations economically. Economic autonomy from the West will be a hard task that will take costly sacrifices to achieve.

Seeing all of these, what do you guys think will be the impact of the Russian African alliance on the world economy. We know there is no war right now but the rhetoric and tensions all over is being felt worldwide. Would the world economy suffer or would we be fine?

A big war in Africa would be devastating for the world and make all the problems we face in Africa today much worth. A big war would lead to large scale immigration to other countries, further putting pressure on food and water security. Any conflict would probably lead to a quick reaction from the UN to try and contain the misery. I don't think Russias goal is to create big conflicts in Africa, because they don't have the military reserves at the moment to support their allies. It's one thing to have mercenaries operating in Africa, and something completely different to have a large scale war. Now with the dismantling of Wagner there will be other mercenary companies taking over. Providing military aid to African countries is one way to get influence. For the world economy not much is going to change, the need for medical aid will likely remain high and western countries will have to keep up their development support.

cooperating with Russia actually has pros and cons for countries on the African continent (but I doubt this cooperation will have any impact on the world economy), we know for ourselves that Russia is hostile to NATO countries but good friends with other big countries like China, these two countries will definitely provide assistance in various fields for countries on the Africa continent who cooperates with them, starting from the exchange of technology, natural resources, and also the military, but many criticize this cooperation because of the assumption that Russia is a country that is cruel and very authoritarian in politics, this can trigger geopolitical imbalances in the countries of the African continent who work with them!

A perfect, of course in quotes, example of the toxicity of russia. Any relationship with Russia leads to the degradation of its partner. And degradation in a broad sense - from mentality to economy. The problem is that "lovers of Russia" don't want to study history to understand that no country that got in touch with Russia (or the USSR) became better off or improved the situation of its citizens. And only those who were able to cut this knot of "friendship" - now became full-fledged participants of the world community.
Read history - even in the times of the USSR "bought" high-level politicians in many countries - from primitive bribery, to the creation of "specific events", which were then used to manage and manipulate people. Many, even European politicians have a huge "closet of skeletons", and the key to this closet, and he himself - lies in the Kremlin ....
In a word - I do not recommend to get in touch with this contagious and toxic regime. It is like in 1939 to support and be friends with the Nazis of Germany. Although Rashism is much more bastardized than Nazism.

Putin wanted to create a bloc which he would control the economy of African States. As it is said in another thread, why can't African countries create their economic bloc and control their economy by themselves instead of creating economic bloc with the oppressive whites. Russia has bought some of the West African countries to join the bloc. And that is why the recent junta in Niger Republic was also supported by Russia so when the West African Economic Bloc wanted to strike Niger Republic for disturbing the democratic governance in the country Wich is not institutional, Russia was strongly against the move. Russia supported them with some strong warfare personnels and weapons.

This Western interference of African development is still making the African countries more underdeveloped. Let them allow the countries in Africa to develop themselves. This BRICS will never developed any of their member states in Africa Instead they will use the resources in those African countries to develop their own countries. And this is the neocolonialism in Africa States.

African countries have every chance of success! But ... there is still a lot of work to be done. For example:
- End unprofitable and toxic relationships. Unprofitable - it's more about China. Toxic - about Russia
- destroy corruption
- start investing in the economy.
- Leaving projects like the UN projects "to save African countries from hunger" is pure corruption, and a swamp of degradation, which leads to the fact that the governments of these "rescued" countries help the UN corrupt officials earn money, and the local population gets used to doing nothing and waiting for the next handouts in the form of "help"

Well, not only that, most of the African Countries are having war with each other, some of them are even still having a civil war inside their countries. They can't even make an alliance with their neighbor, Putin will need a billion dollar solution if he wants to actually benefitting from his alliance with the African countries.  I guess having all those land with rich natural resources not always blessing, it's more of curse.

Every single nation in the world could be a better nation if they did those  things, but unfortunately the ones who want the power most, are the ones who deserve it the least. We are not going to get great people and great humans who will be in the politics, people surrounding them wouldn't allow it. You have to give to get, that's how politics works and if you give, then you are not going to be a good person.

This is why it is going to be tough for anyone to get any better on the long run, that's just not possible, not at the moment at least. I believe that we are going to see no African, but also no Asian, American, European, or any other nation to get any better. It just wouldn't be possible for corruption to end.

Just a correction no country is using USD as their reserve currency. I mean even if a few countries are their proportion is very small compared to the rest. Since long time countries are just putting their own currency as a reserve and simultaneously maintaining a forex reserves which comprises of all the currencies so in that way BRICS won't really damage anyone to be very honest. Infact I feel more than BRICS there should be a defensive alliance among the east to really counter balance the NATO these days.

Instability, rampant gangs and "military governments" are the ideal environment for the introduction of "Russian peace, or at least the real capture of resources, in exchange for arms and support of Russian terrorists. They seize key elements of infrastructure, mines and extractive enterprises, put there terrorists from PMCs, and all this by bribing or "buying" the new "rulers".

The latest "beautiful" example: On the territory of the airport in Mali, the so-called PMC Wagner took under its command and control, and uses it as its own base. This base also contained, previously purchased by the legitimate government of Mali, several Turkish-made Bayraktar TV2 drones, which fell into the hands of Russian terrorists.

One can read about the seizure and appropriation of many mines in African countries by the same PMC Wagner and similar "representatives of Russia".

International sanctions and the isolation of Russia from civilized states are forcing Putin to seek connections with rogue states like Russia, or to expand cooperation to sell their products with developing countries, including African ones. But Putin’s attempt following the summit in St. Petersburg was unsuccessful. We'll see what happens next. Russia's influence will increase in some African countries, while in others it will weaken. After all, African countries do not present a united front. Each country has its own interests and they depend on many factors that are constantly changing. But I don’t expect that Russia’s plan will succeed. Russia is weakening because of the war it started in Ukraine, and everyone can clearly see this.

Russia's goals in Africa are very simple, and it's not about helping Africa.
1. Destabilization of the region where the gas pipeline to the EU should run.
2. Capture of resource regions/enterprises, to gain currency.
3. Destabilization of Africa and subsequent new wave of "unruly EU", by waves of migrants.

That's it, there are no other goals. Ah yes Smiley Of course, at the level of official visits and speeches, there will be about terrible colonialists, about freedom of African countries, about honesty..... But remember, in Russian, peace is war. Truth is a lie, life is death. Help is plunder and destruction. Proven by the MNR, Ichkeria, Abkhazia, DNR, LNR,.....

1. What gas pipeline are you talking about exactly? I have never heard of a project of this kind before. The two closest African countries to Europe with significant gas reserves are Egypt and Algeria, both of which are in alliance with Russia without the need to blow up the situation internally.
2. I agree with you on this point and I think it is somewhat legitimate since no one will provide free assistance without getting anything in return. Russia is not a pure angel and Africa needs support to rise again.
3. Migration waves have existed since the 1990s, that is, before Russian influence existed, and I believe that Europe is more responsible for them than Russia, since it has been impoverishing Africa for centuries. I mean here France specifically, which I consider more dangerous to Africa than Russia.

Any "effect" it would have is because of an overreaction against the alliance. Don't get me wrong I clown on Russia as much as the next guy but this "alliance" that they struck with Africa is of no consequence unless they are to take actions against countries that are considered enemies of these. Which they aren't cause that would mean world war by the by. So what they are right now is purely partners in economic stability if you could even call it that, one country helps the other by providing it with enough economic aid to hopefully allow it to stand up, and perhaps strengthen its relations with it to further drive just how negatively the Americas affected them. I say we can't do anything but watch and observe, any country making a move against this will be considered an act of aggression and would have dire consequences.

Answering:
1.  TSGP gas pipeline
"Algeria, Nigeria and Niger have signed a memorandum to complete the construction of a gas pipeline of more than 4,000 kilometers across the Sahara to Europe"

https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/algeria-niger-nigeria-sign-mou-saharan-gas-pipeline-2022-07-28/

3.If at the first stage, I agree with you, then later it became a tool to destabilize the EU. Lately it has been OPEN. Let me remind you - from 2021 to today, Russia has been purposefully bringing large groups of migrants from "friendly countries" (Asian) through its territory, then transporting them to Belarus, organizing camps there, preparing them, providing them with means to destroy fences on the border with Poland and trying to "throw" them there. Google - everything is in open sources with photos and videos. I assume that after 2014, after EU started to put pressure on Russia because of terrorism in Ukraine, this process became controlled by Russia.

Let us clarify some points so that there is no confusion:
- There are three pipelines extending from Algeria (Hassi R'Mal) to Europe (two to Spain and one to Italy), as shown in the attached picture. The line you are talking about is to strengthen this supply network and not a new line, knowing that this network does not only provide gas to Europe, as Tunisia and Morocco also benefit from it, in addition to Algeria.
- The project of this line began in the 1970s and remained the focus of studies for years before its effectiveness was confirmed, in addition to confirming the technical possibility of its completion, which only happened in the 2000s.
- Considering that Russia is working to disrupt the project, it must be taken into account that one of the most important factors that was disrupting the project is the security issue due to the activity of terrorist groups on the borders between the participating countries. The Ain Amenas incident in Algeria is an example.
- Algeria is an ally of Russia and has ambitions to join BRICS. Russia can convince Russia to disrupt the project without the need to inflame the situation in the rest of the agreement countries (Niger and Nigeria).

You are well aware that russia is a terrorist country. Not only "classical", but also economic. And there are plenty of examples of this. For example, one of the goals of destabilizing the eastern regions of Ukraine and their occupation in 2014 was purely economic, or rather resource-based. If you study this information, you will see that from 2010 to 2014, in those regions were discovered and explored huge deposits of shale gas. And the volumes that for many decades could provide all of Europe with gas, cheaper than gas from Russia. We were already preparing to sign contracts with international companies to develop the deposits, and... russia came to our country with war....
Now Russia has shown the whole world that it is a fake country, at least as far as its "greatness" and "power" are concerned. So now it is just helping to organize coups and destabilize transit countries to disrupt this project. It can't start a full-fledged war in the region anymore.
