Time to collect altcoins now or later?

I could say some people had lost their money from buying into hype projects but it doesn't mean it was a wrong decision because we admit that many were also earning a lot of money from them.

No doubt that there have been a bunch of investors that have earned with those hype projects. The early they get in, the early they get out and that's essential because they know that it's not going to last longer.

I won't encourage people to invest in hyped projects but never I stop them from doing it. Perhaps, it was even more profitable compared to investing in known coins when you've got perfect timing. But yes, if you've got it wrong and just come during its peak, losses are possible to happen. You'll be wise indeed in the crypto market.

It is their money after all and they're all free to allocate their money in whichever hype projects that they want to put it to. But they need to remember that it's not always profitable because if they do something wrong or late for selling, they're going to see how the fluctuations are really moving these projects either from being a good project and not just all about hype or it's just all hype after all.

So is it really right to collect altcoins?  Or another dump will be coming before bull run? Should i postponed my invest or not? I guess that depends on the altcoins you are collecting, but in overall i think this is the right time. At least if your bags are part of the altcoinseason and rising with them.

As a personal note i have a similar feeling all around what i had in 2016. Most of people are in similiar disbelief of the future. It's just harder to spot because groups of people are way larger so you can easily be a part of a bubble of believers, and those groups are big. Groups of dissapointed non-believers are way larger though. I definitely feed altcoin season coming.

This skepticism is fostered when many suffer losses in a process where they are used to projects being pumped, but there is a repetition in the crypto environment and the game of newcomers early and late (FOMO).

I also agree that accumulation at this stage is feasible, as there is a lot of activity that is quite clear to shape an uptrend in the next stage, which I quite expect of a cycle. Price increases are likely to occur around Q2 2024. In the current context the doubts if removed by the recognition that we can accept losses of about 50% or more due to volatility and be completely confident that the new cycle will bring profits many times over.

Have you ever heard of a pump and dump scheme on a token? If yes then your risk of loss is quite large (when you buy the wrong token)

Bear market is best time to invest when token price down far away from the ATH. Many people thinks that token will again reach ATH but it is not true. we buying coins for profit and we have not to look that we will sell only when token again reach ATH. Similarly people waiting for big dip and missed the chance to buy in bear market. I think when you see potential in any coins which can give you profit and you believe that rising chance is more than just jump into coin and buy 33% and then wait for another dip. In this strategy, investors will not feel regret If token start rising and another chance If token drops more.

It will be pretty confusing if someone goes for the top 100 in the list of cryptocurrencies listed on CMC because when you go for choosing the altcoins you want to invest in, you will need to thoroughly evaluate the coins and tokens and the projects behind them so that you can choose the best ones and your investments don't go wasted. That's why, one should narrow down that list and then go for choosing how many they want for their investments.

If the investor is a newbie, I would suggest they go for the top 20 or maybe 30 and evaluate each one of them very closely and research about them and see how they have been doing in the near past just to have an idea about their recent performance, and then choose the best ones among them.

its always grim future for when we are in bearish but honestly will bearish last forever i simply don't think so.
there's reason why those whales keep accumulating even when the future of cryptocurrency in general seems like gonna be doomed.

Let's say that it's always a good time to accumulate while we're not seeing the bull run. What many do is they only accumulate when they see the healthy market and after that, they don't do it anymore because they're discouraged upon looking at the market.

That's when the patience is gone anymore from most of these investors. They don't buy when it's low but when it's up, they're buying. Overall market is not performing well. Previous history show that october is best for crypto but we are not seeing any push in market which is sign of fear and low interest of whales. BTC halving is going closer each day and this is the time where whales will like to buy btc rather than accumulating altcoins. I think that the wait will be better at this stage. One small dump will down the altcoins more and then we will get all our altcoins in low rate. I will recommend btc and Ethereum at this stage and for others coins i think wait is better.

This is just my thinking which maybe wrong. I predicted on the behalf of previous history and current market situation but crypto couldn't be predicted 100% correct and sometimes it turn other side unexpectedly.

Sadly markets doesn't care about fundamentals. It's a pretty much coin toss and depends on the community and hype, more than anything. And if something gets adopted for any reason, for any case, it just means more community and hype.

So you might as well do well investing into memes and nfts if they have large enough community backing. Doge has risen many times and it's all hype marketing without any other substance than a community.

As long as you know that the market is relatively lower than where it used to be in the past, and those of us who have been around for quite some time know it's true because we saw the bear market when Bitcoin went to around $15k last year, and we have seen it recovering back to about $31k earlier this year and now it's just a bit lower than that position, but we know that it's still very low and when the market is low, we know it's not a bad time to accumulate.

Those who find themselves confused and aren't being able to decide whether they should invest now or wait, they should simply go with the DCA method and divide their capital into multiple portions and use one of them every time the market dumps a little bit, so that they don't miss any opportunity including the present one.

Any time could be a great time to grab some altcoins if the traders know what they are doing!
If you are not sure with that then just wait until it's actually better, the market is still not a good shape and if we are talking about altcoins even though if we were at bull market then the chance of your picks to pump is still low because the nature of altcoins. You said you want "more" altcoins yet you don't specify your criteria of what altcoins you want.

you need some money for life, and some for hardware. alt looks like no desire to move, btc otherwise doing good move and not droping heavyly like alt today

Memes or nft was a hype that eventually ends, but projects like ltc, xmr or xrp constantly have a niche in the cryptocurrency market. Although I agree that any coins may not have stability and there are never guarantees. But it is better to choose for investment such projects, which were able to survive several cycles. By the way, there are such projects among meme coins too.

We are now close to the bull run but those said alt of yours can continue to bring more profits in the future. So, we should not drop the support for them as there are people who got contented easily and try other coins (it can be new coins). There also those who can't wait and replace the coin easily without knowing that the coin has more potential than the coins they pick as a replacement.

A fall of most coins doesn't always dictate for a strong rebound. Their fall can also be permanent because their mission is already over or they don't have what it takes to remain in the market. Meme coins are crap but I think there are still good NFT's out there which are worth to invest on.

Indeed. There are too many options if we consider the top 100 in CMC. Among the top 100, there are still many weak altcoins. It will be too risky for a beginner or for someone who has lack ability in analyzing the potential coins to invest in. Moreover, it will waste time if we analyze too many altcoins. So, I agree that we need to narrow the number of the altcoins. The top 25 is enough to be the option for a beginner. But make sure to ignore meme coins and stablecoins.

Top 20 is enough, there are already many altcoins to choose. When I was a newbie, I only focus on the top 10. I don't think too invest in too many altcoins, it is enough to invest in 2-3 altcoins besides we invest in Bitcoin.

Valid altcoins will never make you disappointed. Probably crypto industry maybe go though a dump before start of bull session but If you want to purchase altcoins now, then thats also okey! If somehow price go below, then price will also raise up soon. So don't worry but be aware to avoid buying altcoins which have Over prices already because of preliminary market pump. Better to have little patient to observe market before purchase.
