What main coin do you mean? and what kind of privacy does monero offer? Main coin means beating bitcoin or becoming the king of altcoins? in crypto it is not only about privacy but also about technology, popularity and transaction speed.

Privacy is a necessary feature in my opinion, but why hasn't Monero become a main coin?
Monero is a privacy focused coin that makes it popular to people who wants their payments to be untraceable. And Monero is so much effective in that sense that it is one of the most used coins for people laundering money, funding terrorism and providing illegal goods and services. It's the coin of choice for darkweb marketplace. It is often associated with crimes and hence considered a criminal coin. That's why it's a prime target for law enforcement agencies. They are doing all they can to crack down and stop the use of Monero. They have made it such difficult to buy and sell Monero that normal traders and investors who have nothing to hide don't bother taking the trouble of owning it.

there are several things that make monero unpopular one of which is because monero offers a very high level of privacy than other cryptocurrencies usually that way is less favored by financial regulators who want more transparency. Even though monero may not be as popular as other cryptocurrencies, the value of monero is still relevant depending on the needs and preferences of other users.

They made buying and selling more difficult, is that so? Monero can be bought on almost any exchange, including binance. Monero is also sold on exchangers. But, I wonder why it is not available on decentralized exchanges...

Monero is still widely used by many, although there are countries where owning Monero is illegal. Due to privacy coin feature Monero bans in the EU. While I've never used it, I believe those who need privacy coins, use it. Despite these considerations, Monero remains prevalent as a top 30 cap coin.

Speaking of Monero, do you guys heard about this news? Finnish authorities traced Monero transactions tied to Vastaamo hack.Finland’s National Bureau of Investigation reportedly traced Monero transactions in connection with the criminal trial of Julius Aleksanteri Kivimäki and the Vastaamo hack. I might have my doubts though, maybe along the way when he transferred it to a CEX, Binance. And we all know that Binance works with regulators and authorities and this is how they traced it back to the criminals. And not directly breaking the privacy-centric code of Monero. In any case, the hacker is already with the authorities and it's hard for Kivimäki even if he covers his track, but still it lead him to his bank account. If the hacker used centralized exchanges, then he left a trail that would link the Monero to his identity. XMR's privacy features won't matter if you aren't cautious. I'd bet Finnish authorities will have a hard time finding the hacker if he would've used DEXs and/or P2P trading platforms. Lesson learned, I guess. Hopefully, the Monero blockchain remains private enough to combat government surveillance. It's still the #1 privacy coin in the world (despite being widely unpopular in crypto land). Maybe it will be the only coin of its class that will stand the test of time?

Monero was a top 5 coin by mcap at one point, and it is still top 30 and I would say a "main coin". Honestly I think Monero has the third biggest real community/network of supporters and true believers after BTC and ETH.

You should study about monero and its privacy protocol. Your lack of knowledge about privacy protocols is new so you should know that they are a bit different from bitcoin in terms of technology. Bitcoin transactions are publicly available for the world when monero offers privacy which is very demanded among the institutions. Institutional investor don't want to show their track record to the world for strategic reasons, so they would like to use a blockchain like monero and this is the same reason for the government don't like it.

Because most people want to trade coins, or just buy and hold them to sell at a greater price. Privacy and technology are for enthusiasts, not for the masses. It has always been like that.

Transaction speed and technology is one of the things that can make a project to go far in the cryptocurrency market. Once we understand how to get things done that would attract more investors, that project is going to go farther than it other competitors. There are many crypto projects that are pegging their values to Bitcoin which does not make any sense at all. Some would want to beat Bitcoin saying they are better than the most influential crypto project in the market.

Monero currency is generally anti-government. The government does not like this currency so much, because of which many people may not use Monero currency because it is very complicated to buy and sell transactions for those who will invest in this currency. If this time Bitcoin is not valid in many countries but Bitcoin is valid in many developed countries Bitcoin currency is in circulation. In all the countries where Bitcoin is not legal, the people of the country are able to do Bitcoin transactions comfortably and they have advanced in life by exchanging and investing in Bitcoin.

For me security is a main feature but people over looked it and see it not that important immediately after creation. except when we lost access to it before we becomes more careful or start looking for it. But for the monero I don't really know about.

Security is top priority for most of the systems including these projects. But they won't settle for the best security and what matters to most is the profitability of it. Whether we like it or not, that's how this world comes up with the idea of how good a project is and that's because on how profitable it is.

Do you think privacy is a major issue in the real estate sector? I don't think so, even though crypto supports a decentralized system, privacy is not completely the main pioneer here. If that's the case, Monero should be at the top. but until now I have never interacted on the Monero network at all.

But for the monero I don't really know about. Monero is very secured and private. This is the reason why government doesn’t condone the use it because people can easily hide their laundering and tax evasion by just purchasing this coin since there’s no way to track it. Monero is not popular nowadays for common people because not everyone in crypto seek privacy. The majority prioritize profit than privacy that’s why CEX is still popular over DEX even with the breach of their privacy. Monero is now delisted on some major exchange that makes it less exposed to traders and investors. Monero is not unpopular but not popular either.

Of course. Why shouldn't they? After all, the majority only wants to get rich with the hype. I'm afraid it will continue like this for as long as crypto lives. Only a handful of people (very small minority) will continue to support truly-decentralized and private cryptocurrencies. Monero seems to be the clear winner here in regards to privacy/anonymity. Governments don't like it because of its privacy features. Between false propaganda, and exchange de-listings, XMR has suffered from low adoption since its inception. What I like the most is Monero's resistance against ASIC hardware. Upgrades every 6 months will keep it that way forever. Since it's easy to mine with a CPU or GPU, anyone can participate in the network consensus. This means more decentralization and less inequality. Maybe XMR will outlive many of the privacy coins we know and love today?

Heh. That is rather an ironic image made by the Monero community themselves to encourage people into buying Monero. Actually, Monero is one of the cryptocurrencies I have seen to have a dedicated community behind it which is willing to actively donate to the developer team and also donate for projects to further sow awareness about Monero in people interested (or not) into privacy. The silliest way I have seen them do that it has been by creating a common fund to hire artists and draw the Monero mascot/waifu "Monero-chan" in very suggestive and funny situations. For some reason using a representation of the coin/brand in the form of an anime characters is something which is even being done by brands like Opera GX, to appeal the younger generations of internet users and fans of japanese animation. You should look for Monero Chan, you may like the strategy Monero bros are using to make their coin well known, be advice though, some of the pictures/representations could be considered to be raunchy or even not safe for work.

It's like Monero is the super-secret agent of cryptocurrencies - so undercover it's off most people's radar. Monero's not as easy to dive into for crypto newbies compared to the likes of Bitcoin or Ethereum, which practically everyone and their grandma knows about.

Privacy is a necessary feature in my opinion, but why hasn't Monero become a main coin?
Monero isn't as popular as Bitcoin or other big cryptocurrencies for a few reasons: Not Well Known: Many people haven't heard of Monero because it's not as widely talked about or advertised. Privacy Concerns: Monero's focus on privacy makes some regulators worried it could be used for illegal activities. This has made it harder for Monero to be accepted by big companies or banks. Not on All Exchanges: Some cryptocurrency exchanges don't list Monero because of its privacy features, which can make it harder for people to buy and sell. Complex Transactions: Using Monero can be more complicated than other cryptocurrencies because of its privacy features, which might put off some users. Competition with Established Cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin and other big cryptocurrencies have been around longer and are more widely used, making it harder for Monero to compete. Despite these challenges, Monero still has a loyal following and is used in situations where people really care about privacy. As more people become aware of privacy issues and rules change, Monero might become more popular in the future.
