I Think being private is very important, here is why:
If you are into crypto you should not post winnings this will lure bad people especially in your area and during this situation were we are just in the middle of the recovery from pandemic.
Posting negative experience people will not look good at you since you are posting negative things and they will not follow and will dislike you.
Being private is good although we can't hide everything but we should live simple boasting and showing up what you have, is okay but people this days envied people who reach an achievement so , if you have earn a lot in crypto better keep silent, share it with those people who are close to you.

I think it's important because when you're start become an anonymous, you're free to choose to become anonymous or not. When you've did overshare your private life etc in your social medias, you can't delete it anymore. It become worse if you did something stupid and it goes viral, many people save it.

That's why you need to be mature first and know the risk of everything you choose.

Privacy really helps limit other people from accessing personal things on data that are considered important, actually privacy is very important to protect, but there are certain times that you voluntarily share all personal data to register on an exchange or what is called KYC verification. The exchange does not demand that you share your privacy with them, but you cannot use exchange services without passing KYC verification. You can maintain your privacy safely but at certain times you have to voluntarily share personal information with other parties.

In the Cryptocurrency world, all systems lead to centralization, only Exchanges with a centralized system apply KYC verification to their customers. But if you use a decentralized platform, you can avoid KYC and you have a great opportunity to remain anonymous in your crypto asset trading and investment activities.

For all matters, privacy is very important, although in some places we cannot escape the provision of personal identity, such as when dealing with state administration.
In trades conducted in countries that allow crypto activities such as in our country for example, almost all exchanges impose KYC on users as a condition for being able to make withdrawals in fiat. I myself do not question this.

Regarding the importance of privacy, we still try to protect it as best we can by not doing careless things.

Did your privacy as priority in bitcoin investment? not matter you are beginner or not when entry in bitcoin community you need to expose all your document needed for passing KYC in exchange market account. If you don't know about bitcoin is not matter about how important your privacy and more selective for exploring document ID, but remember you will face difficult when withdrawing, trading and deposit fund in your cryptocurrency assets if not KYC with all exchange account. Actually your privacy have been expose when using internet online and your browser have been expose which one site you search.

If you keep priority most important and won't to expose, I don't think how possibility you can withdrawing your cryptocurrency fund after several P2P exchange required with KYC.

Privacy is important to me, but I don't kid myself that I can achieve it to the extent that I would like, because in addition to cameras that are everywhere, we are spied on by our smartphones, computers, smart TVs and every device that is connected to the internet.

Not only that our phones spy on us, we give or leave behind a lot of digital or online footprints; IP address, location, device etc. To all the sites we visit a footprint is left behind and our ISP keep a track on the URLs we click. All these info are/could be compromised by advertisers, identity hackers or the Government, for personalized uses, like Ads for companies and scam for hackers.

The online footprints can't be removed completely for people who tend to minimize, control or secure the kind of information they've shared online or about to give out. Risking the identity of many users and boosts sales for big tech companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon etc that depends on personalized ads to make billions of dollars.

Amazon in 2021 made $26billion in sales using personalized ads; tracking the activities of users, the products they like shopping and other shops also take advantage of users data to scale their profits.

Google read our mails to also personalize ads, aside the numerous information they get from searches and chrome browser

Facebook left hundreds of millions of user's passwords on a plaintext, not hashed. Increasing the possibility of untrustworthy insiders to access users passwords.

These are vulnerabilities we expect from top giant sites personalizing billions of users data to increase profit.

Therefore, I would conclude that privacy is a matter of personal choice, and this means that those who want more privacy must be ready to make some concessions in life if they want to succeed in this.
This is excellent, but for every user who spend time online there is a privacy breach on their personal information, which they wouldn't approve of if left to decide. Many users on social media share too many details about themselves via posts, and comments or even likes, these we can't avoid while on social platforms.

To stay on a minimal percentage of breached data, one must minimize what they share online also cut off Google (its possible) Duckduckgo for search purposes, VPN to minimize how ISPs get our information, use email aliases for subscriptions and lastly and crucial halt the use of Facebook or google sign ins to create accounts of third party sites that demands us to do so. It puts all our information at risk and when attacked the hacker can have access to other linked accounts too. That means we must make our own settings online, using default settings only guarantees that these platform would have access to more and more detailed information about us; the users.

I think it will be very different for each person, and not because a beginner on an expert just personal preference. For me I wouldn't mind sharing my real name, email or a country where I live in for them to know my timezone to any person who I want to have business with, like a potential client. For some people even a real name is a privacy they wouldn't give their real name to any person they meet online, even when they meet on a real world they would still use a fake name, I don't think that's wrong tho, just a preference. On the other hand, I wouldn't give my address, my age, or other non-business-related or personal information, but some people would just give those detail easily to everyone they meet. I am not going to judge them, I just think that's risky.

In bitcoin privacy is important when you are a bitcoiner. If a newbie start his bitcoin journey it is better he learns how to keep his privacy to himself. If only we can stop using centralized exchanges and use a decentralized exchange and also using bitcoin mixer for sending our bitcoin. There are some countries that placed a ban on bitcoin,it will be easy for government to trace them and get them arrested if the government choose to.

I have come to see that it is hard for one to be live a 100% private life in this centralized world because there are some sites that we need their services, that will ask us for KYC and because we are interested in their service,we don't have any option than to provide them with our documents, like the online casinos. Privacy depends on how an individual have the knowledge of how to  keep his data and information from people. It isn't something so easy.

It is important to have privacy in every aspect of life.  Privacy is very important for things like Bitcoin and digital technology. Most people don't take privacy very seriously, which puts them at a disadvantage. Generally, digital currencies are more prone to cyber attacks due to which they have to be kept very private. Without KYC, it is not right to transact on any exchanger.  Withdrawals and deposits must be KYC. Access to cryptocurrency exchangers and wallets should not be shared with anyone else.Especially those who are new to cryptocurrency are totally unaware of kyc related issues.

Protecting privacy is important not only for newbies but for everyone.  But no one is able to protect 100% privacy. kyc is being made mandatory for gambling trading and some other things so if we want to enjoy them then we must do KYC verification and if we do it then we have to submit our personal documents there.  So in this case our privacy is not protected in any way.  Although the platforms tell us to encrypt the documents.  But the extent to which they adhere to it is doubtful. And because of this we cannot guarantee our privacy

Privacy is a big and debated topic nowadays, especially for things like bitcoin and digital tech. It's about people having the power to control their personal info, who collects it, how it's used, and how it's kept safe. But when it comes to bitcoin and stuff, privacy isn't easy. There are lots of problems and choices to make, like legal stuff, what's right, how people feel, and the tech side of things.

Seems like privacy might not be around much longer. Cameras are everywhere, watching us in public and even private places. There's this new thing called CBDC's that might replace cash and let people keep an eye on our money stuff. Our data is being taken and used without asking us. We have to do things like KYC for bitcoin exchanges, which might make us less anonymous. And they're even taking our biometrics, who knows why.

People are divided on this. Some think privacy is really important and should be guarded by rules and society. But there are others who don't really mind and think privacy isn't a big deal. So, I created thread to see what everyone thinks about privacy.

I mean privacy was already a thing in fact a lot of us here think that privacy is a thing and as we all know that is why a lot of people use Bitcoin even though it doesn't completely make you anonymous. Especially for beginners or newbies protecting your privacy is going to be an important thing, we can easily be strict on thoughts kind of things, I mean just think of it a lot of cryptocurrency websites starting to require KYC on their platforms I mean there are tons of members here that doesn't really like that since we don't really know what they can do to our data. I mean if something happened or you did give your information to some shady website or actually a scam website your information could easily be sold to hackers or scammers. possibly the worst part is it is used on some illegal activities or even used on some kind of load or they stole your identity.

There are some cases here in my country where his ID was used because he used it to pay at some store and maybe some of the employees there took a photo of his card where they used it to make unauthorized transactions on his account.

Maybe it cant be helped I mean if they really required this kind of information in order to use their platform you actually going to need to send this information but just make sure or somehow do your own research and do some kind of background check or are they legit or maybe already popular or big platforms.

I  did think the question asked in your heading was rhetorical. I think privacy is important for everyone as not all information should be shared and available for everyone to access.
Privacy doesn’t necessarily mean going off the grid, moving to some remote location with no human presence, technology bearing plans to live off the land hunting and stuff.

Privacy is also a personal choice and responsibility that is primarily left to the individual. Not everyone is aware of how important privacy is or probably don’t care much about what information is put out there.
About CBDCs, there’s little we could about them when it’s fully adopted and used. You would just have to be extra careful on what is purchased whenever using them.

Despite all the methods aimed at harvesting information about people, we could on our part, try to be mindful of the information shared with others. Some harmless bits of information here and there could together,  in the wrong hands, not be so harmless anymore.

every human being has human rights that protect them from birth and no one can take them away, therefore there is nothing wrong with people who do not care about privacy and there is also nothing wrong with people who attach great importance to privacy. I myself think privacy is important but for some things, I remove that notion and provide my privacy data through KYC, but I will be very detailed about the site I use. If it's a new site and doesn't have a reputation yet, I won't be willing to give my privacy data (you are the one who has to choose).

Bitcoin and privacy is an interesting subject because bitcoin isn’t exactly “private”, all transactions are visible on the blockchain which means that transactions can be tracked to the original wallet. Bitcoin mixers were introduced to solve this problem, a few have really good mixing methods that wash coins but the government and regulatory bodies have pushed strongly against mixers one by one. It’s almost impossible to have absolute privacy in the year 2023. Somehow in some way we all have a digital footprint that traces back to us wherever we may be. If the government want you found, they will find you.

We are bare naked when dealing with the state administration or the government.  The moment we were born, our information is already registered to the city office.  But in terms of financial status, there is an option for us to keep it secret to the government but we will be in trouble when they find out that we are not paying the right taxes.  From the previous to recent threads, many people jump into Bitcoin for profit yes, but there are few wealthy individuals who get into Bitcoin to hide their financial status so that they can pay less to the government.

I always believe that privacy is important to individuals, the need to keep their identity and wealth from the prying eyes of hackers and scammers.  It should also be secured when interacting online.  Whether a person is a beginner or an old user, privacy is always important.

Regarding the importance of privacy, we still try to protect it as best we can by not doing careless things.

In terms of Bitcoin usage, we should not connect our Bitcoin stash to any centralized online platform and any addresses that we connect to exchanges. So it is recommended to use mixing services in order to erase the trace of the Bitcoin saved in our stash.

But when it comes to bitcoin and stuff, privacy isn't easy. There are lots of problems and choices to make, like legal stuff, what's right, how people feel, and the tech side of things.

Privacy isn’t easy even in our everyday life. But privacy is essential because of what it entails that can be breached and cause us a lot of harm when a third party comes in contact with the information there. In bitcoin, privacy is essential and should be taken with high priority and not neglected.

Quote
Seems like privacy might not be around much longer. Cameras are everywhere, watching us in public and even private places. There's this new thing called CBDC's that might replace cash and let people keep an eye on our money stuff. Our data is being taken and used without asking us.

With government, you can’t have a total control of your privacy. To some extent, this is good as it helps to find wanted criminals easily when there’s a breach of insecurity or involvement in illegal activities that can cause harm to the general public and peace of a nation.

Quote
We have to do things like KYC for bitcoin exchanges, which might make us less anonymous. And they're even taking our biometrics, who knows why.

This is optional because their are many exchanges that don’t need KYC before you can use them.

Quote
People are divided on this. Some think privacy is really important and should be guarded by rules and society. But there are others who don't really mind and think privacy isn't a big deal. So, I created thread to see what everyone thinks about privacy.

Those that don’t regard privacy have nothing to lose when their privacy is been breached. Those that value and acknowledge privacy will not think otherwise because of how precious it is to them. Privacy is very essential and their are no two ways about it.

Everyone needs to be careful with their privacy whether a beginner or an expert. Ideally, we don't share whatever the personal information to random people. I also never share my real name, my residence (address), age, email, country, or anything related to my secret information. Even I rarely posted photos on social media to avoid the misused of hackers. We must be aware to keep our privacy because hackers are getting smarter. Moreover, the technology always develops, there will be more ways to hack/scam people. So, it is stupid if someone easily share their personal data to random people. Or share the information to social media channels.

Privacy should be given with high emphasis not only for beginners but even to those who have been here in crypto market for long. If there are traces of scam in the beginning, then don’t be confident because you might a victim in the future because you care less of your privacy. That’s why never compromise your privacy in order to gain quick profits. You can give your KYC but make sure you’re giving it to the most reputable and trusted exchange you ever know, and not just some random new exchanges in town that are promising huge profits.

Privacy is an important and fundamental thing after all. Keeping our privacy safe is what most of us here always prioritize. But it's a fact, sometimes we can't keep our privacy completely private 100% in certain places. Especially indeed on centralized exchanges which require KYC. Even though they state that our privacy is safe with them, is that true? Nothing guarantees 100% it is safe. But on the other hand, sometimes we have no other way, buying and selling, especially when we want to cash out via P2P, sometimes we are not so sure of someone's reputation. Well, what is certain, however, is that we have to optimize maintaining our privacy not only for security but also for our own convenience. And guard our privacy and the assets we have to avoid things that we don't want. Avoid posting on social media the various crypto assets that we have today, this is also very dangerous.

Privacy shouldn't be a subject of debate because everyone is meant to take their privacy very seriously, it's because of lack of privacy and transparency that the idea of Bitcoin was convinced. For anyone not taking their privacy very seriously that's on them and provided they're not putting others privacy at risk then they're free to do as the pleased. We still have many methods that we can use to keep staying anonymous when we're carryout transactions and it's not mandated to use those exchanges that demand we complete KYC before we can make use of their exchanges.

We still have Peer2Peer platforms that offers opportunity to keep our identity safed while exchanging our bitcoin or other coins to fiats or vice versa. As a newbie one of the things you should pick interest in as you have already involved yourself in the industry is privacy. When your prioritize privacy it'll help you not only stay out of unnecessary problem but also hide your wealth profile and avoid you been a target to scammers, hackers or probably some people that would want to extort money from your hands either through kidnapping or other illegal ways. Privacy is essential not only for your safety but for that of your wealth as well.
