Trust Wallet users should be on alert over this recent way of scam introduced on trust wallet via link address.

NFT are not the bad actors in scam, people make use of them to launch attack on users by introducing infiltrating malwares, phishing sites, malicious links and downloads through the introduction of new NFT to intending and potential investors in cryptocurrency, you can see what appears on the scam alert hinted with the use of trust wallet, user's should be careful.

This has been one of the most common ways of getting access to one’s Wallet by phishing. All these airdrops and testnets like always requires you to connect your wallet to a particular site, some might have paid off in the past but most are definitely not worth the hassle. Do not connect your wallet to any website no matter how trust worthy they claim to be.

If at all you would like to engage in airdrops which you should know is no longer worth your time or risk anymore then I would suggest you use a different wallet entirely from your personal wallet where your coins are stored. If there is even a way to use a different device then kindly do that, because most of these sites instill malware like Clipboard Malware which would not only affect that particular wallet but also the entire wallets on that device

This is the risk of participating on all of those airdrops introduce to the public since we don't know if the owner want to launch a good project or they are just there want to scam people by those malware attach on their platform. Maybe for that we should create more dummy wallets so that we can avoid getting huge damage once we got penetrated by those scammers. We also need to avoid those airdrops which is obvious shady to lessen the chance that we will encounter those issues.

Why not avoid airdrops? I mean, they had decent value back in those days. However, I have read many negative reviews about them in recent times. There are some good airdrops, but they are not very frequent, and even when they do occur, they are generally valued at no more than $10 or $20. While they have a low initial worth, they might offer a good return in the long run. However, since most users pursuing airdrops are looking for instant redemption, waiting for the long run may be practical. In understanding, it is better to stay away from any airdrops, as there are multiple options available to obtain free tokens.

There's no free lunch.

Just avoid airdrop especially there's a token or NFT send into your address, don't click anything to receive, but just avoid or delete it. I have a wallet that also get send with this fake shitcoins or NFT, until now all of my coins are safe since I didn't click to receive it.

You can move this thread to altcoins discussion.

Airdrop is a hunting field for scammers, all airdrop hunters is also being hunted by the scammers. Researching for airdrop need much more effort then researching for investment. Anyone who doesn't have the time to be invested in researching Airdrop better just stay away for it. As my experience there is only 1-2 airdrops that actually worth some money in a year, the other will end up as shit coin, and most of them is scammer, take the actual investors money and just drop their project.

It surprises that still yet some people are hunting after airdrops when they should be busy with other things of relevance to their crypto portfolios, maybe I will have to assume some actually don't know the risk involved and how hackers are using such medium to attack them, maybe airdrops could be the best recommendation for begginers to have an avenue to learning but they should forget about the reward than knowing how to begin with the whole process in learning about cryptocurrency transactions and wallets.

Ive seen a lot of nfts scattered on my wallet that I didnt signed up or joined. Obviously these are scam one that are sent by those thieves. I am frustrated with this since your wallet is being spammed by different nfts. Before only tokens that has funny names and literally scam tokens, now even nfts are being used. As lonh as your wallet is active these scammers will try to send frees to lure into a scam so better avoid that.

That's right, this is the most common way and also the easiest way for fraudsters to access our wallets. And I'm sure people who have been in this space for a long time are well aware of this style of fraud.
An airdrop hunter should always be careful when they are working on a task and are asked to connect their wallet through the link provided. Always use a new wallet to hunt airdrops, and to be honest I am also one of those people who occasionally follows airdrops and I also always use a new wallet or a wallet specifically for hunting airdrops.

Quite a cheeky way to make use of Trust Wallet features. The scammer exploits the NFTs display tab of the application to lure the users to get deceived within their own site. What on the first hand a good idea from the wallet developers, is utilised by someone to scam many cryptocurrency users.

This is a wake up call for any wallet developers to combat by what all of their could do to mitigate users getting deceived by what is possible in this space. It would be hard since the scam methods and schemes are ever-evolving, but to reduce users getting scammed/phished they should do something to educate basic security to make them safe. It is a good thing that they are aware of this scheme and have already informed their users.

First of all I would like to thanks to you for bringing this topic, because I think it will gives a notification to many beginners.
Now get into the point, this is not the first time that was happening Because this has been happening before. These types of scammers are increasing day by day as the cryptocurrency world  become larger. We have to be careful, initially when going to invest in all these types of investment things, he should first see if there is a beginner on the official website of those projects. As I see that you have taken the screenshot from the official Twitter page of Trust Wallet. In this case, this thing should be noted that you are following the official page of the project. Thus in every case the original sources must be followed, and we must prevent ourselves from being too greedy because in most cases greed pulls us to these things.

This isn't new and likely these airdrops are done automatically when  these malicious actors see if you're have an active wallet being involved on airdrops as well. Good thing crypto wallets these days have that feature to hide these lousy tokens on your wallet so always update it and exercise the necessary procedures to secure your wallet.

Same thing happened in my trust wallet. But I didn't understand one think, that somehow from the verified twitter account with having more followers of trust wallet, bnb etc. posts the fake and scam links. So, mostly people thought that the links are real but It is just a scam.

This is not limited to trust wallets, somehow they find our wallet, but I think the snapshot system in the smart contract can detect the last activity of the wallet and then sends this kind of NFT. For example, every wallet that has ever interacted for mint NFT on Opensea, I think smart contracts can do a snapshot of the transaction. Because, before I had NFT, I didn't have scam NFT as shared by OP, but now I received more than 5 of those scam NFTs. We can't do anything about it, we want to throw it away, we have to get it approved, and I'm worried that if I do that, then the smart contract will drain assets when I have a number of valuable tokens in my wallet. These scam NTF mostly sent from Polygon network.

I'd first like to thank the OP for writing this cautionary post. I often receive different types of fake tokens in my trust wallet. If we want to swap these tokens, our wallet is getting hacked. After that, the new trap started again through airdrop. We can't be too greedy and click on any links sent by strangers.

It's happening on everyone.

It's based smart-contract, each time you doing transaction on the chain then you will get a random (NFTs) after that. Always, never reaction anything to kind of asset you are not own (or randomly get from somewhere else).

It's just like spam token but the different with NFTs.

I used to be careless in storing different altcoins in my wallet before regardless of their legitimacy or value. I often joined different airdrops before not knowing that I could get hacked or scammed by clicking different links as part of the requirement to join them. Since I've heard from a friend that he has been a victim of fake altcoin and scam airdrop before, I've been really skeptical and I avoid joining untrusted airdrops as scamming and hacking might happen if we will be reckless.
We better avoid projects that we aren't sure about. We should do deep research to check the legitimacy of each airdrop that we're joining so we will not fall for scammers. We have to be wise or else we will surely fall for their trap.

Those that are into these NFTs and airdrops are the targeted people of these scams. It is because they're gullible and think that it's nothing to be aware of. But upon experiencing that, they'll get to learn the importance of being vigilant on matters like this. They shouldn't be easy to connect their wallets whether it is Trust Wallet or Metamask or any other wallets that's being used by these scammers to trick the users that are keeping up with the free money that they are following.
For the sake of the newbies which are most likely the victims of this type of scam, you need to be chill and researchful when you're checking out these airdrops.

Beginners beware of Airdrops that will redirect you to their website through the provided link around the shiny coins you see on your wallet, where you will be required to fill in informations in other to claim the reward, follow the instructions as provided above and avoid their website as it leads to scam if any information is provided.
I have joined some crypto based groups which are specifically airdrop hunters on facebook which they do really share up tons of airdrops and including that minting about those NFTs
which links are given which needs to be approved or be allowed and ending up on some users that stolen up their assets with their Metamask wallet which it is really that truly devastating.

Example is on this one
Someone Lost Millions Trying to Claim $2K Crypto Airdrop

In speaking about airdrops then its literally free, but clicking out random links in the internet is really just that a suicide things if ever you would tend to do so.
Dont make yourself that too careless because this would really be your demise.

The Trust Wallet team may be late in publishing this warning to their community. I have had NFTs for years, and I did not mint them and found them in my wallet without my intervention, The suspicious thing that made me stay away from them is that one of these NFTs can give me thousands of dollars by staking it on the scam site that appears in this NFT information on Opensea and for sure anyone who opens a scam site and deposits a certain amount of altcoins or stablecoins to get the stake rewards, will lose his funds and may lose all the available NFTs on his wallet, these NFTs are like scam pump and dump tokens that we find in our wallets and lose our money when we exchange or send it, or after purchasing more quantities of it, so any NFT or token that you found dormant in our wallet that we do not know its source, I recommend that ignore them completely without doing anything.
