CSK vs Punjab underway in my favorite cricket stadium of all time(Dharamshala). Kings fighting it out in a stadium fit for kings. Chennai were cruising until Chahar screwed them through a double blow.

Mitchell got unlucky. I feel that Chennai will end up scoring something close to 170 which might not be enough against this Punjab side. Let's see what happens.

IPL is now in very interesting phase. Apart from RR there is no confirmation that which other team will make it to play offs. A win today by CSK will take them further up on points table while if PBKS wins then there chances of playing play off will increase. CSK not in good position at the moment, after 17 overs there score is just 136/7. In IPL target of anything less then 200 is vulnerable.

CSK vs PBKS, 53rd Match at Dharamsala, IPL, May 05, 2024. Punjab Kings won the toss and chose to field first for that Chennai Super Kings are playing batting. already completed 19 overs then Chennai Super Kings collect 150/6. All top-order players can't collect a rich amount of runs for that they appear a poor score. It's not a big score to fight against Punjab Kings. I hope the Chennai Super Kings can't collect 170 or much.

There seems to be an Afghan cabal inside the selection committee in GT. Omarzai, Rashid and Noor Ahmad were assured of slots in the playing XI despite repeated poor performances.  

Lol, it's indeed quite funny that most of times GT's foreign slots are occupied by Afghans.

I agree that Noor and Omarzai has been ineffective but Rashid is top-notch all rounder, there is no reason he should be sitting on bench, you can't exclude him cause of few poor bowling performances.


Back to today's match, this is best Harshal Patel I have ever seen, Dhoni getting out on first ball, such a feeling, I can't describe.

Csk has made 167, I 'd call it decent, wouldn't yet bet on Punjab though that they will chase it easily.

Top class bowling from PBKS today and the now have an excellent opportunity to grab 2 points. CSK are able to score 167 runs in there 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer with 43 runs while 3 wickets each for Chahar and Patel. MS Dohni was clean bowled on first ball he faced. Target is low but PBKS still need to be careful as we have seen teams failing to chase such small target in IPL.

In today's match Chennai Super Kings top order batsmen did not perform well especially Moeen Ali batting in ODI style did not play a good innings and some other batsmen could not score well for Chennai Super Kings. Harshal Patel and Arshedeep bowled well towards the end and Chennai Super Kings' innings could not be taken above 168 runs. As Mustafizur Rahman is absent in today's match, the bowling line of Chennai Super Kings is very weak. So it will be very difficult for Chennai Super Kings to stop Punjab Kings from the target of 168 runs in today's match. It is assumed that the defeat of Chennai Super Kings in today's match is mandatory.
