Maybe lesser chance. Like 20-80 in percentage. Bonus play sometimes doesn't give anything and that is why I am not a fan of this mode. I'd rather get the bonus chance at grinding it in the normal way. But gamblers who love taking risks can take advantage of this. Sometimes they do give an amount that would be impossible to get on the normal roll.
I've done this before and based on experience it didn't give me that good of a result, I think 10-20 times and when I felt the losses from what I have done, it became like a trauma that I won't do such a thing again. Well they won't make as good money as you would make by getting those by accident via real game. Too high risk / reward ratio imho. It's not like you often would make much more then you originally put in. I I am not sure bout exact data, but most likely you have higher changes betting dice with 33% change to win 3x your money back then winning 3x from those. Then again you wouldn't get those satifying blinking lights. But i am not certain if those are worth $100 or $400 per bet.

But sometimes there are gamblers who like to have some fun and so they play slots the way it was design, try your luck to see if you can get that big bonus.
