I do understand where you are coming from here.
There may be a chance that some gamblers do play tournaments only and I actually know one of my friends. But he doesn't play slots or dice, and other casino games. Poker is his game and he also doesn't do buy-ins and sit on one table. Even though I've just heard of tournaments like this, I'm quite pessimistic that it will have a big impact on stopping them from gambling addiction, because what gambling addicts actually aim for is real winning money (they've lost a lot so they hope to be able to get their money back missing). You are right about that, with a tournament even though not risking money it is the same as still playing slot games and has no effect to leave the game, in fact the addict will be more active in participating in the game and more likely to be able to return to betting with money.

It's a massive stretch made by the user to sell Social Tournaments for some reason. Logically speaking there's no way these "free tournaments" are made to help the average gambler who's addicted to relinquish the bad behaviors in my opinion it even promotes it which is a massive kick in the balls for those people who wanted to quit gambling. I would agree with you too, there's no real solution to solving gambling addiction than quitting gambling outrightly.

Only an addicted person can cure it, and it is the intention to cure his gambling addiction. Without having a strong intention, they will not be able to cure it but will return to gambling again, and there is a possibility that their gambling addiction will worsen. I would rather see the different thing in speaking about stop gambling addiction via having that kind of system on which you could play for free but having the chance on winning up some prizes if ever you would really be able to hit up those top spots. Plus you have to remember that these "trial accounts/demo funds" are made to give the people a general feel of the site and the process, in hopes of reeling them in into actually putting in money on the process. Never knew this until you've shared it here and I think the cause is very nice but is there some statistics that shows it reduce the addiction of those who joins here? What you say makes sense, however addictions by definition are behaviors which do not make sense as people are engaging on attitudes that can destroy their health, finances and their most important relationships, and yet we see people choosing their addiction over anything else over and over again, so while this is a good move for those that may have some gambling issues, I do not think that it will produce the results that you could expect out of it.

This site is not intended to rehabilitate addicts directly. It does seem to work for gambling addicts who have independent therapy initiatives. Instead, their main goal is to get more exposure from the new machines they present.
