Don't you wanna have some sort of control over the things you put your money on? It's not as if I don't want to win big but I prefer betting on something that I think I have a higher chance of winning. There will be upsets for sure but what are the likelihood of that happening? Maybe 1 to 3 out of ten so I'll still take that 7 to 9 chance given the odds are decent imo.
