What happened::
I received this fake Binance (phishing) email to my mail just now. I'm not sure how these scammers got hold of my email because I've never used it for anything other than the Binance exchange, so I'm wondering if Binance database was just hacked or anything. In the email, they ask users to exchange their BUSD stablecoin to FDUSD coin (I didn't click the link) prior to February 2024. If you receive this email, it is almost certainly a fraud or a phishing link designed to wipe your BUSD. Be cautious and avoid clicking it.

Why are these exchanges selling our personal information? Must be a very good business. Disappointed

I went through my email and I did not see anything. What I am think about this is that you might have used the email on a phishing website before but maybe you have forgotten. Or it may be an insider work, we should not trust anyone, including the Binance officials. I do not click on any link, I prefer to only open Binance from the app and the app alone.

It is very important that if we copy link, we should check the URL to know if truth it is correct with the legit site or not.

Be careful with centralized exchange most especially while using their mobile apps,  I discovered some funny things recently with my Binance app I think Binance users' data are not 100% secured right now.

Always check your device authorization on the app to see if other devices are granted access to your account,  because such acts even if the hackers can not carry out transactions for OTPs may have access to your information such as email and other KYC details so this could be the case in your situation.

I may be wrong though but these are my personal observations influenced by my personal experiences with Binance and other mobile apps in which securities seem to have been comprised or watched by hackers.

Maybe you're right, maybe it was just sent to targeted users, however after reading your piece, I went back through my inboxes and discovered that I used this email on Bitmama last year to use their virtual card with crypto to make international transactions. I quit using them due to their high rate. It may be either of them who snitched.

Be careful with centralized exchange most especially while using their mobile apps,  I discovered some funny things recently with my Binance app I think Binance users' data are not 100% secured right now.

I Stopped using Binance for recieving coins and P2P trading after the CZ and Binance FUD.

I Stopped using Binance for recieving coins and P2P trading after the CZ and Binance FUD.
This is the best decision you have made, and due to some of the dormant account policies on Binance, the matter has become scary. It is best, if you are a long-term investor, to hold your crypto on a hardware wallet or reliable decentralized wallets. Putting your entire capital in the Binance platform alone is a big adventure in light of the regulatory wars and the FUD that revolve around it, Binance is not suitable as a wallet only for trading and P2P.

The message you got is actually an announcement that was already published on 2023-08-31 with the title (Binance Encourages Users to Convert BUSD to Other Stablecoins Prior to February 2024) - [ SOUCE ]

I clicked on the Reference link, and it directed me to the official announcement link on the Binance official website.

As for bntrace.com, it is an official domain from Binance.

You can verify this yourself through: https://www.binance.com/en/official-verification. 1-Enter the domain link and click "Search".

This is similar to the case of shasan getting an email reply to claim a voucher but some members say it's not phishing but the link leads to the original Binance.

This means that Binance has many email sub domains that send random emails to its users.

So I also concluded that it was not phishing but we still need to be careful because of the rampant incoming emails that are not clear.

Here's the shasan thread about Binance phishing emails: Pretending Binanace to Scam People!

Regarding this email, if it actually comes from the right source or not, I'm an active Binance user. I use it both for day trading and P2P transactions. I have exchanged and withdrawn BUSD a few times from the exchange, but I don't hold a balance on that, nor do I have any outstanding balance with them.

But since all this business of a thing started, I have never received an email regarding this from them. Is it because I don't have an active balance, or am I not a relevant customer to them?🤔

But other security-related emails usually come through, either when I make a deposit or withdraw a new login from a new location or device, but not this one. Maybe it's for the best, as it might also prevent me from receiving some suspicious emails from scammers.

I also subscribe to binance email but fortunately I rarely receive messages from untrusted senders, if indeed you have doubts about the email you get then you can click on the 3 dots on the right and then click report phishing, it's very useful so in the future you will no longer receive email from that sender.

always verify any messages that come to your Gmail or email first.

This I think is a possible hack or otherwise. I do not doubt your experience with respect to the topic matter because I too had such experience from suspected scammers who sent me trust wallet pending verification message. They think I am a novice that would rush to Click the link and give them access to my details through their phishing link. It is obvious there is information or data breach somewhere. It is either data been traded or a hack must have occurred and it is kept away from the public notice so as to avoid escalations. But I am not worried because n of matter how the occurrence is hidden, it would definitely finds it's way to the people.

As I read through that email, it was a well-played email that can really make an  unexperienced crypto user fall victim. I checked my mail, and I did not receive any such mail. Meanwhile, I have countlessly used my email on several sites. I had one argument with Nwada001 in the past, although I can't find the thread again, where he explained how some of those scammers can steal users emails. I just believe that your email was obtained by those scammers through some other means; I might not be that your  details was sold out by Binance. Also, I know that Binance is a very large exchange, and they have staffs who are humans like us, and I don't know if I should believe that those staff can have hands in selling user information.

and a little bit of tip just don't click any link that is sent from your email before checking it first who sent the email, because scammers nowadays are getting smart
