Has been a few years, charts updated
Updates- Added Total Ex-DT Members overview chart with trendlines, similar to Included DT Members chart. Per the
criteria from the data, these are now referenced as Ex-DT. Previous versions of
this topic can be found here per
changelog.
- Added Total Ex-DT Total & Average Negative Strength charts, similar to DT Positive Strength charts. I'd avoided these previously as it's not representative of all negative DT strength, but it is nonetheless representation of all current Ex-DT.
Analysis- Despite the
increased centralisation within the DT1 network, DefaultTrust remains largely unaffected. Average Positive DT Strength remains around it's trendlines and long-term moving average while the total number of DT members remains stable.
- There was a notable increase in Ex-DT Members early last year, this is likely attributed to the
change in DT1 criteria and the knock-on effect for DT2 members, based on the timeframe. Regardless, this had limited impact on number of Included DT members.
- There has been a slight increase in DT members with higher strength (such as DT>+4) since DT1 changes occured, while this minor concentration of strength has been offset by DT members with lower strength, resulting in little to no change in overall centralisation within the DefaultTrust network. However based on the increase in DT1 metrics of the same ilk, DT2 has in fact become more decentralised as DT1 has become more centralised, by means of comparing the relevant charts.
- Average Negative Strength of Ex-DT Members continues to decline, as has been the long-term trend since 2019. This demonstrates the increasingly centralised nature of DT1 members with their exclusions of Ex-DT members. In contrast, DT1 members have become increasingly decentralised in their inclusion of DT2 members, which has resulted in offsetting centralisation of the DefaultTrust network itself.
SummaryDefaultTrust remains remarkably stable and is becoming neither more or less centralised. With DT1 becoming more centralised with the inclusion of their own, the continued inclusion of DT2 members has counter-balanced centralisation within DefaultTrust.
