Visa is making big moves in the crypto world. They're teaming up with Solana to expand their stablecoin settlements. Basically, they're using USDC for transactions. This move helps Visa speed up global payments, and it's all part of their ongoing commitment to the evolving crypto scene. Visa's foray into stablecoin settlements on Solana signifies a major milestone in crypto adoption by traditional financial giants. I just hope that Solana can finally get a hold of their scalability and security issues!

We'll see how it goes. Imagine SOL will be hacked again and millions will lose their money after that. They won', and Visa might stop working with crypto at all for some time.

In any case, this is good news for increasing the liquidity of the cryptocurrency. But big is seen from a distance. It is important that the alliance between Visa and Solana be long and lasting. I wonder why Visa did not conclude this agreement with Ethereum?

That's a good question. But I guess it should be asked not here, how could we know? I see it as a really strange choice, to be honest, if you remember how SOL was hacked last year.

They haven't left Ethereum. It's an expansion and it's pretty easy to guess the reason. It's convenience over everything else when it come to satisfying mainstream users and Visa understands this perfectly. Ethereum's higher gas fee and slower confirmation time compared to Solana will be a problem to some so it's a good decision from a business perspective.

That’s somehow interesting news to the ears. I never thought VISA would partner with existing chains to run their projects. I find it somehow ambiguous as to why they can’t have their own on chain projects to speed up the transactions. As far as data is considered VISA and MasterCard are the foremost players when it comes to instant payment settlement. Both of them are competing so it could be prime reason for VISA to make such bold move. If they get backed up with Solana then definitely that crypto coin is going to see its golden days really soon. This news does need more digging and valid docs to study further. Great share mate.

I think that's an exaggerated rumour. If everything were so simple, stablecoins would have been used in banks long ago. But so far there are no laws on crypto regulation and I don't think it's possible to realise payments via Solana for Visa. This news looks more like something like a new partnership between Ripple and some bank. I mean, it's just hype.

There are already services that allows cashing out crypto using visa networks in ATM. And as USDC and crypto coins are settled on their live price compared to USD, the users would be responsible to any loss due to volatility and accepting parties are going to deal with fiat as user pays with crypto at current price+fees+commission. Yes, it would have been pleasant if we could entirely deal with crypto but till than what VISA could offer would be helpful. And VISA always have been a fiat centered service, for them to accept crypto transaction for it's partners and now by themselves is a bold move from their side.

Its clear that standard giants are taking a big step into the world of crypto. Yeah, it does make sense for Visa to use USDC; it's stable and transfers are quick. I've always thought that big names in finance need to support crypto in order for it to really take off. That being said, I'm not sure about Solana because it has problems with protection and being able to grow. I really hope that they deal with them soon. I think there's no room for error in the crypto world, especially from a company that works with big names like Visa.

It wasn't that significant move according to markets. They usually react significant news pretty explosively. But good for SOL i guess. I don't have anything against them, but i do wonder if visa's crypto guy knows what he is doing. Is SOL really the one that is a synonym with reliability in crypto? I wouldn't count on it, but then again i am not a coder.

I might even buy some SOL. I am having a good feeling about it. It most likely means it's going to crash, so you are welcome.

This is obviously a terrible move by Visa. For a project like solana that has plenty of centralization risks and scalability issues from time to time, they should've gone with alternatives. I know solana tx fees are relatively cheaper but the downsides outweighs the upside. Except they're planning to use solana to complement their crypto department and not as the main engine, then it's not ideal.

Solana's price was heavily influenced by FTX. Since FTX is no more, there's no where they can pump money into their ecosystem. If you're expecting the price to grow anytime soon, it won't. Unless it's a bull run.

never understands how these big companies always comes in decision in utilising blockchain thats known to be not the best out there, i mean there are many alternatives as many have stated but solana is just really weak blockchain nowadays thats already falling off so sharp from when ftx was collapsing.
but I guess they could be adding more and more blockchain into their department in the future I guess they are just testing it with solana but honestly we don't know.
but whatever good for them i'm sure this decision has been thoroughly created through some research and testing so I guess they just find it more suitable with them.

I thought though that they are in the crypto world already when they realized that they will have a big profit and take a big chunk out of the pie, billions upon of billions.

The thing is that they are going on Solana, which doesn't have a good record and of course there are issues about hacks and others that can put Visa on a compromise position in the future. So let's see how long this partnership will go though.

So events like this show that banks in this generation are gradually accepting other cryptocurrencies depending on what they think will help their company. That is not surprising because many experts have noticed that the time will come when bank companies will adopt it.

However, this is still a point for us crypto enthusiasts in this industry. Then this Solana can be said to be a potential altcoin that can also provide good profit in the future; the development plan of Solana is also good, and it is one of the good cryptos to hold in the long term as well.

I knew that Solana has been to many hacks in the last couple of years, but I think that VISA knows what they're doing thus, Solana has something that we investors aren't seeing. I don't know what it is, and it's a bit curious why Solana, but maybe the main reason is the fact that Solana can handle 50,000-65,000 Transactions per second.

For Solana, maybe this might be a wake-up call for them, and we might see little to no hacks in the future because after all, it's VISA that they're partnering with. As for the stable coin, I think USDC would be better than USDT for some reasons. For those who are telling why Solana, if not Solana, what project do you think Visa needs to be partnering with, and why?

Its clear that standard giants are taking a big step into the world of crypto. Yeah, it does make sense for Visa to use USDC; it's stable and transfers are quick. I've always thought that big names in finance need to support crypto in order for it to really take off. That being said, I'm not sure about Solana because it has problems with protection and being able to grow. I really hope that they deal with them soon. I think there's no room for error in the crypto world, especially from a company that works with big names like Visa.
Many of them are already here in crypto but it's good to see that others are joining here too even though they are a little late already in the party. They realize that cryptos are the future of payment methods or money and it is is inevitable anymore.

However I think there are better coin choices for a top brand like Visa to use and not the two coins that are mentioned here, as we all know that USDC got depegged last time and have an anomaly with the banks while Solana is so controversial. Visa is so popular so it already had taken off but they can greatly benefit more if they support crypto payments. Errors are there and they are also possible here in crypto but we can only hope for the best.

they should step up as they have been chosen of one of the leading digital payments. because if they will not perform to what they are expected to be, there will be other alternative networks to go to. and they know, such competition these days is no joke. so they should address their security issues at all times and keep up with these sophisticated hacking tools that they think of.
this can actually boost their price in the market, so they should not take for granted about this opportunity to their network.

I believe that this transition could have significant implications for Solana however, I'm apprehensive because I've heard about security breaches within Solana's ecosystem resulting in substantial financial losses. It is imperative for Solana to enhance its security measures to prevent any future breaches. Otherwise, if such security issues persist, Visa might consider migrating to a different blockchain network, which could ultimately affect Visa as well.

Now, the hacking system is very strong. I had heard before some days, that the Ethereum owner twitter had been hacked, so it would be as risky that might solana be hacked and many will be in a huge loss, but this is just a thinking, we should think positive.
