What are the reasons behind this picture being used to depict Satoshi?

For quite sometime now I have been curious about this picture as posted above. When ever there is any post online relating to Bitcoin and Satoshi, you see the picture next to the name or topic of discussion.  

The man's name is Dorian Nakamoto and he was among the 4 most tending people the media suspected to be Satoshi Nakamoto years ago.
In the past decade, the media always post what they want you to see, and the same thing goes with the TV. You have every right to question that by doing your own research.
He's not the only one suspected to be Satoshi but the media chose to use his picture due to his name and it could be his (Dorian Nakamoto) doing since he's also a writer.

It's pretty disgusting that media outlets are still using Dorian's image after causing such an adverse impact on his life.  This man was hounded by the media because of the false speculation of who he supposedly was.  Practically ruined his life and painted a target on his back.  There are plenty of other artistic renditions that could be used to represent satoshi, but they continue to use the wrong person's face against their wishes.

I dont agree with the association of Dorian to Satoshi and how his image is still being
used eventhough it has never been proven that he is a actually Satoshi.

I have seen Bitcoin collectibles and artworks with Dorian's image which is also wrong.
TBH I dont know how he deals with the constant misrepresentation and the
false association of him and is image just because his appearance fits a narrative.

Not only not proven but also the guy denied that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.  People are just doing anything for attention.  It is not the eagerness to find the real satoshi anymore but more on how they can get more clicks and views by recycling the previous information that can retrigger people's interest just like the use of the image of Dorian Nakamoto again and again.

Anybody can make use of any picture to signify Satoshi or anonymity just as the common ones used by people showing the image of a facial look or train with two beam of lights, another is the one some people used as a masked face that does not show any facial look of a person, since everything about Satoshi Nakamoto is all about privacy then we shouldn't expect to see his real facial expression in public, just as he has always been anonymous.

Yes, they can use any picture, but having to use Dorian Nakamoto, who has always refused claims that his is the real Satoshi (which he is not), with all the harassment he has received, I don't support the media for always using his face to symbolize Satoshi Nakamoto. Imagine calling me a theif when I am not, and you accuse me blindly without any valid evidence to justify those claims. Since I am not what many people think, it is left for you to just let me be, but instead, the media are just too nonchalant.

Don't say Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous. Saying he is anonymous is like calling him a liar for revealing Satoshi Nakamoto as his name. He emphasize on honesty in Bitcoin whitepaper.

The right thing to say when you are unsure is "whether or not he is Satoshi I don't know". That is more respectful than saying he isn't Satoshi.

We all know based on what we have heard, that Satoshi Nakamoto is anonymous and till date nobody knows who the real Satoshi looks like or resemble.

Yes, what we heard is true, nobody knows who exactly is the real Satoshi. But since BTC was created and became popular, there have been debates on who exactly is Satoshi, and because of that we get:
1) People who tell lies and claim that they are Satoshi, like Craig Wright.
2) People who are falsely accused of being Satoshi, and they have denied it, like Dorian Nakamoto.

Unfortunately for Dorian Nakamoto, he fell under the second category and really went through a lot, because his privacy was exposed and he was harassed constantly with questions and interviews, even after he had denied being the creator of BTC. Because of this, in 2014 Andreas Antonopoulos organized a fundraiser to say 'sorry' to Dorian for all he went through, and the BTC community donated a lot of money to him.

And the sad part about him was that Dorian Nakamato never claimed that he was satoshi neither, I would understand if he was going around saying he is satoshi and all, but he never said something like that and I think that is the saddest part. Other people claimed that he was satoshi, and just because of that he had to go get some sort of scrutiny by the police and all that, that is quite terrible and I feel like that is going to end up with a lot of trouble.

I know that it will take some time but at the end of the day it is going to be something that is understandable. I hope he is doing fine now, I have never followed up on what he did after this but I think it must be a hard life to live if people think that you are satoshi.

as far as i know, his name ends in "nakamoto", so when people search for "satoshi nakamoto" on the internet it will lead them to his face. in an interview that i watched, he already said that he was not "satoshi nakamoto" as people say, but in that interview he said that he was an ordinary engineer who worked on something and that made it even more believable that he was satoshi nakamoto. even though he denies it over and over again, people will still believe that he is satoshi nakamoto because it suits him so well.
