Recently, I found this topic written by buyingtechnow, which strongly smells like a scam.

buyingtechnow is linked to at least 4 others accounts with a Telegram username and an email address (email shared between geartips50 geartips paypaltocrypto and phil.simpson)

The evidence you presented isn't enough to lead to these accounts getting banned, you should find a plagiarized post of one of these accounts from somewhere else without a source. They clearly belong to one person so copy pasting posts between those accounts doesn't constitute plagiarism. The heaviest penalty that a mod might give is nuke.

If you dig deeper, you will find more accounts. These scammers do not simply leave the forum and may continue as long as they make a dollar a week, but despite all that, there is not enough to ban these accounts. If you find an account that is plagiarizing, then it may be banned, and accordingly all alternative accounts will be banned.
Otherwise, all we can do is make a negative trust (which I will add to them if you found high-rank accounts)

You should know that the forum don't moderate scams or anything like that - if the forum did, I'm sure 1xbit wouldn't have a chance to promote its typical campaigns on the forum. In the meantime, the best thing to do is to tag all alt accounts - you can even tag them even if you haven't used DT. If you have feedback that proves accurate - someone will probably add you to their trust list. So don't just hope DT does it – do something if you believe there is strong evidence in your favor.

This tempted me to check how long you are in the forum. Well obviously you are not here for enough time and don't know much about the code of conduct of the forum. Yes, scam, and things like ponzi, mlm, bad business, nothing are moderated by the forum officials. You must read forum rules before starting an argument of why and why not. The reason is known to all of us for years. There are no need for me to explain it again.

My understanding up to this point was that nuke won't be accompanied by a ban (only posts cleanup) because in the unofficial of forum rules thread both are mentioned separately and it can also be done by local staff which I know they can't ban users. No, it means that the forum cannot effectively protect you from scams so you should learn to protect yourself proactively and not believe that there is a security cover which protects you from scammers, just like with Bitcoin.

I don't agree entirely with the idea and feel that a little more strictness on proven scammers and scam posts will help, but it's my personal opinion.

The thing is Mods can't always know 100% if something being promoted is a scam, Take whirlwind promo as an example here on the forum, If the mods knew there was going to be an exit scam by them then their account(s) would've been nuked, banned long before it happened but sadly it didn't happen. (Considering scams are moderated)

Secondly with Ponzi schemes most of them these days are being put in a grey zone taking the example of some sort of Online mining.
Again the Mods can't be certain or verify if it's a scam till it's too late and damage has been done.

That's the reason in my opinion why scams aren't moderated on the forum.

What are you talking about? You don't have to "find" any connections, if you click on the hyperlinks in the OP you'll see that I've included everything you need.

In any case, the only thing I asked was that a DT member tag it -which is done now-, apart from that this post is more for future reference in case of problems with these accounts.

I agree with you on this point, it is true that protection from scammers lies primarily with members themselves by doing their own research and following safety rules, but there should be more strict measures against scammers in the forum.

Strict measures may help reduce these incidents somewhat, although fraud cannot be completely prevented because fraudsters will return with new accounts, new names, and new methods, so it is very difficult to control these matters.
