The security of this great nation has been brought nothing to the extent that the cost inflation in the society use them as if they are nothing because they are been paid peanut is that they can be used when they are been called upon, sometimes I don't blame this security person for not taking their national assignment serious because someone can not give you outdated weapons to go and fight your enemy that is using a modern weapon, that's not fair when this fight against Boko haram was much active, I was opportune to discuss with one of my friend who has been in war in Maiduguri northern Nigeria, he told me that the kind of sophisticated weapons this Boko haram set are using, that Nigerian soldiers don't have anything near to it, he said that's why it looks as if we are not winning the war, he started narrating how our so-called govern the work with their high ranking officers to siphon the funds meant for the purchase of this weapons and sabotage them in return, which way Nigeria, which way Africa.

Day after day, Nigeria's security is threatened because it keeps depreciating for one reason and another and there's nothing that can actually be done about it. The leaders on their part are not even trying because the funds used are not circulated rightly and the ones that are even directed for the security personnels are not judiciously dispensed. There are still leakages that needs to be fixed and worked on.
The insecurity issues won't stop increasing and the solution would begin from our government genuinty in dispensing the allocated funds and for the bodies to use it rightly.Terrorist groups would continually capitalize on these leakages and won't stop posing threats to the lives of the people.Nigeria as a country is financially capable of affording sophisticated weapons we need to combat crime and injustice, all we need as a nation is right leadership. This is an issue of both Nigeria and the continent Africa at large.

The success of every nation is a reflection of their security architecture. When the security apparatus is solid and in tandem with the vision of the founders of the nation, every other segment of the country will align. But when the security system, that is supposed to be an institution, is compromised, every other thing will fall apart; this is the case with Nigeria.

Nigeria's security institution is burdened with corruption; from the army to the police and virtually every arm of it. It is rather unfortunate that the top military hierarchy are just politicians in military uniforms. As it stand today, laws are made only for the poor because the rich are under the protection of the security forces who are ready to kill to protect them

It was so frustrating seeing that Nigerian police, the army and civil defense personnel played key role in rigging the 2023 General elections as they were practically involved in ballot box snatching, and even protected hoodlums that came to disrupt elections in many places. Furthermore, they watch INEC officials collude with thugs to change results of elections in many places. Now how do we make progress as a people when the security that is supposed to enforce laws and orders are the prime breakers of same laws?

We knew how several accusations have been raised by prominent Nigerians like T.Y. Danjuma that the security forces collude with terrorist and bandits to kill Nigerians. These are not just casual statements or speculations... the man is am authority in that area.

Until our security institution is reformed and made to stand for what they are supposed to, I don't see us making much progress as a people.
Let's understand the fact that the problem of Nigeria is not one you can just conclude from a single point of view like pointing blames on the military, the politician, the institutions, or any other segment of our society. One thing you should understand is that this office her not held by robots or foreigners, they are occupied by the same Nigerians who are complaining and will still complain about this faulty system that they are very much a part of.

The policeman who harasses the youth on the road still goes back home and insults the legislators for not doing their jobs properly.

The same youth that shout and chant on social media for a change in the types of leaders we elect as presidents and governorship are the same set of people that would be used by these same politicians as togs to rig the election and the ones that are left will receive peanut and forget everything they ones said about the politician. And then after a year, we continue the old chorus of things being hard and that our leaders are bad.

If we are truthful to ourselves, we already know that we are our number one problem in all the sectors where we shout and claim that corruption has eaten deep into.

What Op posted is true. We all live here and we know that security personnel in this country are not doing their job to protect citizens. For those asking for proof, haven't you seen police officers collecting bribes on a major road without doing what they are asked to do on the road?
If you have a case of a stolen car or anything, if you don't have money, forget about it because the billing these officials will bill you, nobody will tell you to forget about the case.
You can't count on them when you truly need them. Even though not all is corrupt, majority of them are.

I still believe in new Nigeria some day, despite all those bad things we are going through in the country because many developed countries experienced such insecurity before, until both the citizens and the bad leaders come together to solved the issues that is making other people to travel to their country to enjoy good life over there. If you listen to what happened to kogi state election and IMO state election on Saturday you will know that people will soon stand up to end this vote buying, Ringing and insecurity in the nation.

Many people are going through a lot of things in this insecurity that will not take my village people to handle with their native power within a year insecurity will be a thing of the past, but some people in government offices are using it as a source of income by making it to be all over the country without considering the lives of the citizens..

A lot of us in different fora have talked about the rot and decadence that has enveloped our security apparatus, the system is almost at its breaking point, it seems as if there is no solution almost at the immediate.
The security forces even on the recent elections collude with criminals and thugs to rig the elections for a certain candidate or a political party, and the security forces are there to supervise some of these miscarriage of justice.  The electoral umpire has turned itself to a political party where is directly and obviously seem to be that they are favouring a political party or a candidate.
The big question is, who are those that will reformed the security architecture, is it does of them in power that have directly kept the system like this or can the system reject itself?
