This is not the main discussion board for the merit source application, @Charles-Tim already created an application thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5360200.0 on Meta board where such discussion and application is been made, the first application he made was the general board application to be a merit source, later he bumped the thread to add up his application to apply for local board merit source as well which you could see towards the last page of the thread, he also would have PM Theymos maybe (am not sure) about his application thread, on Meta board, Theymos take time to see into threads that deals with the forum discussion whenever he's chanced, there are many other applications as well directed to him in such manners whereby members applied to be a merit source.

I have been so much indebted about how this Merits goes, if really Merited by quality posts Or if it is a trade by barter meriting system? because consciously I have read across lot of posts that I think it deserves merit (s) yet doesn't acquire it. I am not on the emphasis of my own posts deserving merits but yet it doesn't acquire it too for I believe everyone is on the side target of the best out of other posts all to a goal of attract merits and providing quality educational informations and updates.

I am yet building my account and if I have got more merits to credit out, I would gladly do it to those quality and  creative posts I have been coming across on believing they deserves Merits award.

Some applied but it took time before theymos make them to become merit sources. Before such local board was given merit source, they can report unmerited posts here: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source

The only time you can know is when he choose new sources. Definitely that means he declined the merit source application of the people not choosen.

Let me be off topic a bit,  how can an account that was created on the 11th of July 2023 know how the merits application and the efforts that have been put into getting the local board another merits source?

I am just curious to know,  because when I first registered on bitcointalk it took me months before being able to get used to some terms and also took me almost a year to know how the bitcointalk forum politics are played.

Make in no lie for you my brother the forum na very big place and you no go fit read everything wey dey inside but you fit keep track of some discussion from people wey you see as mentor to you by tracking their posts for telegram Bitcointalk notifier, wey go send you message when once this brother them post so you fit learn from their quality posts.

There's nothing to get Surprised at here, @Wiwo. I believe you guys are all Nigerians, and most of you have love for one another. You will probably want your friends, brothers, or sisters to enjoy the privilege you are enjoying with
 Bitcoin investment, and if you luckily have a registered account on the forum and manage to attain a high rank, your comments get rewarded with some SATs. So, it's very obvious that you can basically refer someone to the forum, and before then, you might have even educated the person about most things on the forum.

The OP could be a real-life friend to anyone on this forum or this local board, and if the person who refers the OP to this forum is of high rank, the OP should know more about the forum.

In respect to your question wey you just ask, I go like let you know say for our local board, na only one merit source we get, that is, in the person of "CryptoprenuarBrainboss" and nobody else, and our board dey really lack merit, which is while "Charles Tim" dey apply for am, to see if he could be granted his request, as eh for really go well for the growth of this our local board.

By the way, I have noticed some changes on the Merit Stats page.

On April 5, 2024:

There are 108 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 32890 sMerit per 30 days

On May 3, 2024:

There are 109 merit sources with a total merit generation of up to 32990 sMerit per 30 days

So I decided to use my detecting tool again. The algorithm has spotted Igebotz as a new merit source. Good luck!

This year don really favour the Nigerian local board, from @theymos giving us local board Moderator to having a new merit source, this na better achievement and I sincerely believe say we deserve am because for stats e don show say Nigerians na one of the most outstanding local board for the forum. All these na wetin we don dey wait on and I dey greatfull say at last @theymos give us listening ears. Congrats to our own @igebotz for becoming a merit source adding to @CryptopreneurBrainboss.

If I remember vividly, I applied for local board merit source before igebotz but theymos turned blind eyes on my request after sending him several personal messages. I expected to be a merit source for Nigerians as I read and post very well on the board but theymos failed to understand. I did not like how theymos did it. It would have been better if igebotz becomes moderator which I did not messaged theymos about at all of becoming. I hate this his recent decision, not for what he did for igebotz but because he did not make me a merit source. It is just a forum as some people call it but that is my mind.

Of a truth Theymos try as him give us new moderator and he is really disposing his duty very well but even though say Theymos also add am among the merit sources to make Nigerian local board to have 2 merit sources but the allocation of merit wey them get they very small when we compare am with how other merit sources allocations be but that not withstanding, our people say person wey kill goat for you thank  am so that next time him fit kill cow for you so na good achievement wey we don get for our local board this year and from all indications show say the new moderator wey be @Igebotz dey circulate the sendable merits without being biased and him they award am to quality posters.

I understand your points being made, I don't think he doesn't see you fit to becoming a merit source but probably he just wanted to add an extra features to @igebotz as a moderator but that doesn't limit making you one of the merit source in this local board. Every user in the forum knows your competency and credibility dealing with quality comments/topics and activeness in this board, I believe you are not out of the list, maybe we just need to wait on for a little while.

No be lie you talk sha, me I like the way Theymos dey do things because him dey always surprise people, no be dat time wey una dey find something wey him dey grant am but na when Una no expect am naim him dey do am so make we calm down as e be say we don dey get tins wey we need for our local board small small, no be wetin to rush at all because e get how him go do something now e go come be like say him dey incompetent and for me the two merit sources wey dey on board now Sabi circulate merit for the local board so as time goes on Theymos fit still include another merit source may be @Charles-tim fit be the next or him increase the merit allocation for the merit sources wey dey already.

Our local board don get good shape like this o and I thank the new moderator @Igebotz for arranging the local board, at least the local board dey presentable and well organized now.

There are some credible people over here whom I think can also handle merits source and again after having achieve our childboard it will be nice there's a little space overtime considering how they have been pushing so hard for theymos to get this childboard approved as well as our mod who is active making sure this whole board are in safe condition. With time as the local board keep getting more attention and new user coming up we could either asked theymos for increase in our previous allocation of add more source such as Charles-Tim, Upgrade001 some other people like Mpamaegbu and Coyster because I know there is no enough merits circulation.
