Winning triggers excessive gambling in most gamblers. When a gambler wins, he'll think of doing it multiple times and if losses increases, the winning of others can influence a losing gambler to continue staking funds. And not all gamblers are coached to gamble responsibly. Their fun depends on the gambling result; win or lose. Because the winning goes back into gambling the fun diminishes gradually. Their wins don't shape their life positively, but their minds keeps telling them that gambling is the right path to follow. And in the society today, with difficulties and expensive produces, friends and family care to help their wards stop gambling addiction. Causing anger on the side of the gambler, even while he gambles. The fun goes, money brings it back then the money goes. Seasonal fun is not complete, and only those who focus on the gambled money get such fun. Professional gamblers may have constant joy, because it doesn't affect their entire wealth. Personally, gambling became entertaining to me the moment I started gambling with only the money I don't have urgent needs for. Before then, it was really a serious painful venture for me because I was practically playing with funds I would have used  for urgent needs. I don't know if I will call it addition that was propelling me then and due to how curious I was to win, I end up loosing more amidst excruciating pains.

As of now, I am not desperate to win because I plan ahead of time and I also don't play regularly... only when I see something convincing with high probability of success. Funny enough, I win more now than ever and I am a kind of enjoying the fun.

If you want to succeed in gambling, get other sources of income to cover for the immediate needs because gambling can mess one up if relied upon as the only source of income. This is from my experience and I know a lot of people are already going through "that circle of doom". Let gambling be just another stream of income; that is how to make it big. I agree yes to take a break allows your brain and mindset to reset  properly so that you can think straight and not just to act on the impulse and drive to always win. Having that mindset always make us to make silly gambling mistakes. Like some gamblers I know do complain sometimes of ignorantly including a game that they didn't intend to bet in their slip and most times the game is the one pulling them down. To take a break helps to calm the brain and you get to think straight after being refreshed. Taking a break is not just for 24 hours, it could be for a week or two on a vacation.

I also do the same thing, and it's an effective solution to break the pattern if you can make plans for yourself, so I agree. Sometimes it's not about the money, they could be unaware of how terrible their decision can be until they start losing all the money in their account. They'll assume it's easy to win back what they lost, but that's only the if part, it's never guaranteed unless you're playing with promotions that could secure you some profits. It usually goes the other way because they overestimate their luck and dig themself into a deeper hole.

Gambling is fun as it relieved one from stress after a long week at work. I do gamble with my friends and I don't let it sink into my head so that I don't see gambling the other way round which to make profit. I know that the economy is hard buy bringing out a few bucks for fun is worth it.

Getting wins and profits in gambling is a big hope for everyone involved in gambling. This is a hope but not a goal. And I think that gambling is all about fun. That is what I'm currently doing right now. I've been exposed to gambling since I was an addict and there are games that are used to be fun and now it's quite boring even I know how to play the game and I can possibly earn money in that game. I only play occasionally nowadays and most of my gambling sessions are for past time and fun purposes only, not for the sake of money anymore. I can control my spending even I only play sometimes because I have a allocated budget for it. If you are not having fun, take a break and slow down your gambling activities.
