I follow this project for some months now and waiting for the mainnet release.

This is great, but you can mine now because the test coins will be exchanged for real ones after the launch of the main network. The price of the coin is unknown and no one knows how profitable mining will be, but if mining on the mainnet is profitable in the future, then mining now will not be a mistake.
