Nigerian have used up to $56.7 billions USA dollar from the past years to this year. Only the amount will tell you that Nigeria is not playing with bitcoin. Di transaction of bitcoin in di country dey increase every year. Only dis I know plenty people don join the technology. As I said in the oda thread, wen Nigeria go adopt bitcoin everywhere go be stew. Di acceptance go dey skyrocket. And one of the thing wey dey make people dey accept bitcoin na because the Naira e no get value and im dey devalue every Month.

Dis one too will tell the world say Nigeria is very much involved in bitcoin.

We no dey carry last for things like this and for this our country wey the valuation of the naira dey decline sharp, e gud to get alternative to fiat and according to this news naija volume of crypto transactions grow by 9% in the month of June through July. The naira don experience a downside as a result of the reforms wey presido engage in. If you ask me, the best way to solve our economic situation nah to use Bitcoin, but we Govt go gree?

It is not surprising to see this number because everyday many Nigerians look for a way to beat this economical problem and the continuous Naira devaluation. The first thing I will say his how did they racked this stats because Omo he suppose to get the right numbers. The easiest way will be through exchanges that KYC but what about the other ones like decentralized exchanges where anonymity Dey. Abi them just take the amount of Naira wey don comot from exchanges. Even so the P2P wey we Dey do with each other selves that one too no go Dey accountable. Make we just agree say this number is just for Exchanges and I believe the actual number go pass like this.

Seriously this numbers will be increasing because the best way to save money as a Nigerian now would be to save in bitcoin rather than in any fiat

@Agbe
Please, try and include the link, there are other important information we might read from the link that you are providing.

I saw the news some days ago and I saved it on my note app. On nairametrics: https://nairametrics.com/2023/09/20/nigerias-volume-of-crypto-transactions-grows-by-9-to-56bn/

It is not surprising at all, only what to expect is an increase again next year.

This nah good initiative for the Nigerian citizens way they use Bitcoin for either their businesses or as investment purpose, although we already Know say Nigeria no they carry last for this kind of things because nah as e they hot nai we they like am.
By now e for done pass this level if to say government no stop Bitcoin transactions from banks but still we they use the P2P, I believe say sooner e go pass this stage, maybe when time flies and the government see say still people they use bitcoin, them fir tell the CBN government to approve the Bitcoin transactions way people go perform with Banks.

Naija no dey carry last o. As e come be say our currency dey devalue at a free fall make most Nigerians begin reason alternative means of financial freedom and savings. I believe say Na this ban wey dem put on banks from transacting on Bitcoin Naim make e be say the awareness and adoption dey slow. If not Nigeria for dey boom by now and e for come attract foreign tourists wey for make Nigeria a site of attraction.

So far, I no doubt that figure and if I am not mistaken, that figure is likely more than we think or they have presented here. I wish binance could do a statistical analysis of p2p transactions on Bitcoin sales and purchase for Nigerians you will be shocked at the figure they might present.

I can't but sae wow to this amount figure wey you call so. You can imagine what the amount for be if to sae our government be leave Nigerians to keep on trading their bitcoin with banks up to this time(the amount for double you know).

Even at that(bank ban on crypto), we Nigerians still find our way to be excelling in crypto, not to give up on crypto investment for a day. This na to tell you sae, bitcoin can't be stopped by the government no matter how d try. Individuals go still find ways to the trade on bitcoin anonymously without government ideas.

The most surprising part of this be sae, the price go still d increase as our involvement with bitcoin continues so.

It is wonderful to see this, because even as CBN restricted banks from dealing on cryptocurrency, people didn't bother about the challenge that they will face in using crypto. I am impressed with the figure, and I know that it will keep increasing because our currency is depreciating, due to poor economy and inflation. As more people are getting worried about the way the Naria depreciates every day, it gives them reason to think of an alternative way to save their funds, and this is where bitcoin will be the only option. Gradually, the youth will know this secrete and bitcoin adoption will increase.

I de very sure say this value na just estimated value based on either centralized exchanges or through p2p because I de expect say d value suppose high pass like this.

Nevertheless, na good news say we Nigerians de involve in Bitcoin more than almost all other Africans countries. I know say with the rate of unemployment increasing daily, so many Nigerian youths that are yet to join will soon join because we are all in need of financial freedom and ways to get money since our currency value de always go down, it is better we invest in Bitcoin to avoid lost of value of our assets.

This is an estimated amount,  and without date and timeframe for the collection of the stats,  this may not be near accurate,  but for the fact that, the figure is significant enough shows have positively involved Nigerians are in Bitcoin transaction.

I think there was a time,  Nigeria surpass US in amount of transactions volumes,  I don't know if that remains the same up till now.

Nigeria has always proven to take the lead when it has to do with anything online-related, and most especially Bitcoin in particular, which I'm not surprised seeing how much said to have been spent over the years on Bitcoin alone (i.e buying, selling and trading). As this shows that our country is indeed playing a major role in the use of Bitcoin, which we all on this forum are a witness to such wonderful privilege invested by Satoshi Nakamoto many years ago.
However, the high depreciating rate of our Naira currency is one reason that have made many look for an alternative means to save/invest their finance, which Bitcoin happens to be the answer and solution to it, and the reason why we rank number 1 on the table shown by coingesko.

Abeg make we throwaway salute for we country, we too much.

I can say this figure pass like this na only the one were dey know dey dey talk, Nigerian na better country anything were go bring money or opportunity you go see our Naija done pass Many country because we know dey carry last for anything, if our government just agree make we dey you Bitcoin for the country many people know go suffer again like that, because everything go dey go smoothly, anything where dey say make we stop dey use am for Naija, dey go get another were to get access to it , we are very talented and one day our government go allowed make we use Bitcoin and the country go dey top.

Nigeria is the Top 1 ranking in terms of P2P trading volume and Rank 2 in terms of Bitcoin adoption ahead of the United States, we only lost that position to Indian recently.

Normally na good news be this, on how say the government no want make we engage with bitcoin but yet our people no gree. Na that our stubborn head dey help us for this country.
Like this now, na so the awareness go continue to dey spread. $56.7 billion dollars no be child's money be that oh. That na like some small countries their national budget oh, nai  a small number of Nigerians don transact reach so. Imagine say this government restrictions no come dey Omo, e for be close to a trillion we for dey talk about so.
Considering say our country money value don drop, we go see more people way go dey save their money for BTC going forward.

Truth no de hide, so make I join di chorus say "naija no de carry last". For dis bitcoin matter, na so e suppose be for our side, because as we de hold or trade di coin, di probability say we go de earn from am de high, if we follow di technicalities wey de inside. Dis na enof reason for di amount wey Nigerians, de spend on bitcoin to increase reach like dat, e even fit pass am as some members don talk sef. With our economic situation wey naira de devalue everyday, people wey know wetin de, go de look for alternative currency wey go guarantee stability of dem money. And which beta currency wey no get boundaries and wey you fit take de earn money wey pass bitcoin? I believe say di number of Nigerians wey de use bitcoin, go de increase daily, despite di CBN restriction on banks to de facilitate crypto matters.
