How did you know the owner of that address is here on the forum?

Would you mind to tell us what exactly happened?
Without much information, we can't give you any advice on what to do.

And take note if the transaction is already confirmed there's no way to reverse the transaction.

About that address, I tried to search here but you're the only one who mentioned it.

Information is still unclear about how this could happen. OP's bitcoins can be stolen by accusing the user of being on this forum.

Can you explain in detail.

Check that the BTC wallet address has been sent to Binance.

@OP you will not get back your coins anymore, it's gone.

What you can do is to prevent you will lose your coins in the future, in case you're still interested with Bitcoin.

The first step is choosing a good wallet (non custodial and open source) e.g. electrum, bluewallet, etc.

The next step is the exchange, better to use no KYC P2P e.g. Agoradesk or DEX e.g. Bisq, in order to stay private and not make people know you're holding Bitcoin.

And the last is learn to avoid everything of making money online e.g. airdrop, giveaway etc and learn about security.

Yes unfortunately the way it works with bitcoin is that once it’s sent it can’t be reversed once it’s confirmed. You can’t do a chargeback like you could with a bank.

What you need to do is get a hardware wallet and you also need to format your computer and reinstall everything because you got some virus and that’s how you lost your coins.

Did you make a deal with someone on this forum?

One thing that you should keep in mind on internet is to never trust anyone. Even the person you are seen physically can still scam you, not to talk of the person that you are not seeing physically but online.

You need to make this clear for us. What is the Bitcointalk username of the person that scam you?

I don’t how this came about but I did scan the wallet to try and see if it connected to any wallet address that has been posted publicly here in the forum but unfortunately I couldn’t get any positive results.

I’m sorry for your lose, and right now there’s nothing anyone can do to help you but if you can provide more information about how you got scammed or if it was a business you guys did then sharing with the forum how they contacted you, how you knew the person had an account here in the forum or anything at all that you think will help the situation.

I don’t how this came about but I did scan the wallet to try and see if it connected to any wallet address that has been posted publicly here in the forum but unfortunately I couldn’t get any positive results.

I also tried doing the same things, and it led me nowhere. It seems like the address the OP posted was an address that the said person used to receive bitcoin, and after a successful receiving of the bitcoin, the coins were then moved to another address. Upon checking the address, the address appears to look like an exchange address.

The exchange in particular is . Binance according to the final address of the bitcoin receiver.

@Op If the money is large enough, you can try reaching out to Binance Support and reporting the scam transaction to them to see if there is anything that could be done from their end, maybe restricting the user account (which I don't know how possible that can be), or monitoring the user closely and trying to figure out what really happened if it was a scam or a business gone wrong.

Your money is unfortunately gone with no chances of ever getting them back, but if person that stole it active here (as you claim) then you should use Scam Report Form so we get a better idesa what has hapepned here and possibly tag and flag that account in order to prevent him (or at least try) from scamming someone else.

OP, this thread runs on evidence, we can't help you if you don't give us any proof... or anything at all. Based from the impression I get from this part of your post,

[...]
I know you are in this forum and you will
read this topic.

[...]

------ is my phone number, you know what I am talking about.

you know the user quite close, or at least had an established communication with them. If you can provide their username, the best we can do is to invite them here to talk about this matter, or to tag them [suppose your evidence are strong and convincing enough that they indeed stole from you] and hopefully they'll return the fund to you. But with the current info you gave us here, there's not enough basis to build a case.

If you know the account of the member who stole your money, why don't you put the profile link here so that all members make a red flag, if they confirm that your story is true, of course.

As for this, without any details, I do not expect anyone to be able to help you, and I do not expect that the thief will return your money to you after it is in his wallet. If he had, he would not have stolen it in the first place.

I hope I am wrong and the thief will return your money, although this is a very weak possibility because thieves do not have good hearts to be influenced by your words and return the money.

OP should not speculate and he should tell why he concluded that the scammer has an account here, without sustaining his conclusion it's like suspecting that Bitcointalk is a hub of scammers, you don't come here and post something like that without evidence dragging members of Bitcointalk, tell us the whole story and why you have a hint that he has an account here, checking the address there's only four transactions how much amount and why not post here earlier after you've been victimized its been a month since this happened.

Can't find that address from the forum so how can you be sure that he's from here? Also, transactions are irreversible and a robber won't return anything that he has stolen. So, if the funds from that address has already been moved or spent then there's no way that it will be returned back to you. Well, even if by just chance, a hacker/robber will not return anything to you. Sad to say OP but consider it as gone forever and review how did that hacker was able to take your funds. Did you unknowingly gave your seed phrase or private keys to a random guy that has messaged you out of nowhere? Following where it's been sent, it seems that it landed on Binance. Maybe from there if you truly want to do something without assurance that it will be taken back, contact the support and give all proofs and necessary details to prove that it was your fund that was sent by one of their users.

Looking at the address provided by the OP, these funds were transferred out on Aug 29, 2023, 6:52 PM UTC but unfortunately there isn't enough information to work with...

And with Bitcoin being Pseudonymous and anonymous in nature, you can not track down a user using a Bitcoin address alone especially if the address hasn't been posted by a forum user here on BCT.

OP is this a deal gone wrong or something, whats happening?

@Op If the money is large enough, you can try reaching out to Binance Support and reporting the scam transaction to them to see if there is anything that could be done from their end, maybe restricting the user account (which I don't know how possible that can be), or monitoring the user closely and trying to figure out what really happened if it was a scam or a business gone wrong.

Seems this wallet was swept in one transaction and Total spent was 0.10327072BTC ~ 2,694.23USD

As for Binance stepping in, is it even possible for them to give a listening ear especially since this will be one-sided without the other party giving their side of the story on what transpired to defend themselves..?

Far as I know, if someone give enough evidence and proof of filing a police report, exchanges will help to freeze an account [together with the fund] that's "owned" by their platform. But that's that. Once the funds moved to other platform, all they can do is freezing the account, they can't do anything with the lost fund.

~snip~

Can't find that address from the forum so how can you be sure that he's from here?
~snip~

I think there are three possible options why the OP is publicly asking for something like this on the forum.

  • The first option is that for some reason he thinks that all people who have something to do with Bitcoin have an account on this forum.
  • Another option is that the scammer may have mentioned this forum to him or that he has an account here.
  • The third option is that the OP is just trying to catch someone naive and play the victim, to whom someone will take pity and send a donation.

Whatever it is, I'm sure that neither the scammer will show mercy, nor will anyone be so naive as to send a donation.

OP sorry to say this, since you know the direct person involved with the scam you experienced then you could have send a PM to the user or better contacted him through the same means or platform you both met and make the deal, but we will keep repeating this that if you did not give a scammer room enough to attack you they can't steal away your coins from you, how have you been so dependent in the past, how do you handle your wallet security, who are those that you communicate things about your asset to and they advise you, something is wrong with how you handle your money or how you trust people.

If we give OP a benefit of doubts and assume his story is all correct and truthful, don't you think that's what OP did on the first place? Contacted the person scamming him in private and ask for the fund to be returned?

Information is still unclear about how this could happen. OP's bitcoins can be stolen by accusing the user of being on this forum.

Can you explain in detail.

Check that the BTC wallet address has been sent to Binance.
OP hasn't replied to any of the posts recently which either means that OP has found the thief and that they have an amicable agreement to return the stolen bitcoins (which is the least likely thing and just me wishful that this was the case for this one) or that this is just something created to create a scene, someone trying to stir something that didn't really happened.

Yeah, all of those are possible. Maybe there will be someone who's gonna react that he's the real one but we highly doubt that as these scammers really are not going to show to the public that they are scammers. Anyway, OP seems to be busy but I think he's aware of the replies here that no one will be able to find out who's the owner of that address but then I suggested him that the funds were all sent to Binance and he can ask if the exchange to cooperate with him.
