The 16 year old guy is a fool, sorry for saying that. He thinks the gambling site will give him back the money? That is never going to happen. Only what can now happen is for people to open a lawsuit against the gambling site for allowing underage gambling but I do not think that is going to happen. We saw on this forum too as a young school guy gambled and lost the money and killed himself. In those countries that things like this is happening, gambling is not well regulated and nothing will be done about it.

For a company that have long standing operational success and reputations,  they won't care about whatsoever social media pressure or campaign that the boy will pull that will get they attention since of obvious that the boy played and lost the bet so I don't see any reason why the casino should refund or even listen to the boy in any ways,  because the boy have violated the casino rules by all means since he know that the age limit on gambling before going ahead to gamble and lost.

So he should be able to handle whatever outcome the result of his action become and leave the casino out of it and I am also sure that from his complain the casino is going to discover his real age and ultimately block or can the account access.

No and I do not think that his money would ever be given back.

When people gamble, they fail to realize that this is also a risk for the gambling company. They either win or lose some money, although they have a slight advantage, depending on the outcome of its games. If you plan to gamble your money, then you should fully understand the risks that are associated with it.

With this example, the boy risked his school funds in order to gain some profit for a good cause. But he failed to understand that by risking his money, the gambling company is also risking their money and the result could go either way. This is the reason on why I fully believe that underage teens should be banned from gambling due to incidents such as this one.

However, there’s a chance to refund this if he will bring this to the court since he is minor which he has an advantage to convince the judge to refund his money. He needs to find a decent lawyer that will do pro bono case for him to make this possible. But I bet someone will be interested to do this trouble just to refund kids money.

Before I give my two cents on this issue lemme ask one question. If the reverse was the case what do you think social media will talk? Let’s say an under aged boy played with his school fees and won a huge amount of money do you think that social medial will pressure the boy to return the money that he won because he’s not up to gambling age? I highly doubt they would, you’ll only hear things like “he’s lucky”, “let him go”, “it’s God’s doing in his life”.

No matter what the media will talk in this issue, sportybet will not refund the boy’s money… he did accept the ToS of the casino. The only thing that can happen or that will happen is for social media handlers or celebrities to help the boy pay his school fees I have seen something like that happen before.

Na, I don't thinks it's the guardians that should be blamed here. Parents aren't always aware of their kids in and out. kids these days tends to play smarter. As long as they have a mobile phone which is normal, there's nothing impossible for an underage kid even to register on these casino or some adult sites. Restrictions don't hold them anymore. It's funny to see the boy begging the casino to send him back his fund. This typical shows why children shouldn't be allowed to gamble. They will create problems for these casino any time they loss.

As Cantsay has said, he won't get the money back, but maybe some celebrities might just be pitiful to assist him with his school fees. I guess that was his plan initially before making his loss a trending story.

This little kid should know the risk by using his school fees for gambling. The gambling site is not even making a mistake here. I meant if this kid would not gamble his school fees and that's fine, nothing happened with the gambling site.
That's pure kid's fault. That kid can try go bet till he will pass 18 years old and he will able to withdraw his money after he will able to fulfill KYC requirement.

The kid won't even care to read TOS. he is only caring to play and beg to the site once he will lose his money. What a poor kid. He should be able to do better with his money.

I doubt he'll get his money back unless the gambling site knowingly allowed the teenager to gamble on their gambling site, then the kid can try and report a complaint against the gambling site and ask for a refund(or something, not really sure what are the consequences if a gambling site knowingly allowed a teenager to gamble on their gambling site). I hope this incident becomes a lesson for that teenager, using school tuition for gambling is a huge NO NO! As always, only gamble what you can afford to lose.

saw this part in the article, that kid(from what I understand this is a different kid) is going lose more money. A lot of gamblers who think like this will end up with more losses than wins. I just hope he starts to realize when to stop and give up the losses.

As long as betting or gambling is concerned, money lost is lost, regardless of age or whatever be the main purpose of the lost money, casino can never return such money to the gambler, even if the parents of the boy drag the casino to court, lost money can not be returned in gambling or betting, even the law recognizes this.

So the boy should stop chasing clouts, he is even underage and shouldn't have an account on any casino in the first place, this is one of the reasons why it's important for kyc enabled casinos to ask gamblers for kyc verification before allowing them to deposit to the casino, not just ask kyc when withdrawing.

I don't think so, since before you can sign up, there's a rule that you must be 18 years above in the terms and conditions. The boy ignored this agreement and gambled his school fees. In my opinion, once the Sportybet company refunds the money in this case, many will copy this kind of scheme. Or the boy will not learn his lesson. It was purely the fault of the 16-year-old teenager, how could the platform return the money that had lost the bet, it was obvious that the child seemed to be addicted.

I want to put it that the school lost to gambling is the tuition the boy has paid for his naivety and silly just to put it mildly. For the rest of his life, he won't ever forget thos experience but whether this painful experience will make him quit gambling until he is mature enough, that is why we do not know.

If I were the owner of the gambling platform, I would not yield to the kid's request, It is a bad precedent and it would just encourage minors to gamble because they can always request a refund if they lose their bet, in the first place even if the minor win they should not allow the minor to cash out, again it will encourage minors to gamble.
The gambling platform should be very strict in implementing its rules and they should never allow minors to gamble if caught they should confiscate it to discourage minors from gambling.
Here in our country, we are very strict if the platform is caught letting minors bet the government will impose a heavy penalty, the gambling platform should call out the parents of the child so they be the ones to discipline him.

The only one who has broken the law is this 16 year old kid.Now this kid has not only lost everything in his school fees but he could also face some sort of reeducation in some reeducation centers if the casino is bad enough to open a case against him for cheating on the platform.

The casino platform has a ToS which clearly states that all players must be over 18 years old and players must be aware that the money they spend on the game cannot be refunded for any reason. So the casino platform does not have any responsibility to return the money to the child because it is in accordance with business procedures.

That's a bread flag on it's own, that boy should care only about his studies for that age, the parent needs to handle that boy before he turn into something they will regret later on, I mean what the hell is wrong with kids of today? They are always in hurry to make some money, what is he trying to use the money for at his age?

The casino also didn't do well, they shouldn't have allow any underage of 18 to sign up on their platform and gamble, it's the boys fault to use his school fees and I don't feel pity for such person, this will serve as a lesson for him and also, his parent will be able to know what he is up to right now.  

This is how children lose their heads at a very small age and they will start skipping classes, if I own that casino I won't listen to the boy, he deserved to be punished by the school or by the parent, there is time for everything, he is too young to get serious with gambling.
