Hello everyone,

I hope this post finds you well. I understand that job hunting can be a challenging process, and a well-crafted resume is crucial for success. That’s why I’m offering free resume advice to anyone who needs it.

A little about me: I have 7 years of experience in the field and have worked on over 500 resumes. I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and how a great resume can make a difference in the job search process.

Here’s what I can help with:

Resume Review: I can provide feedback on your current resume, pointing out areas of strength and suggesting improvements where necessary.
Formatting Tips: A well-formatted resume is easier to read and makes a better impression. I can share tips on layout, font choice, and more.
Content Suggestions: Not sure what to include in your resume? I can help you decide what information to include and how to present it effectively.
Tailoring Your Resume: Every job is unique, and your resume should reflect that. I can provide advice on how to tailor your resume to specific job postings.
To take advantage of this offer, please reply to this post or send me a private message with your resume attached. Please ensure any sensitive information is removed or redacted as necessary.

Looking forward to helping you land your dream job!

Best, Moe

If you have experience creating more than 500 resumes, wouldn't it be better for you to attach your portfolio here?

I see the advice you gave in this thread seems very general and I think everyone does that for their resume. Yes, I know looking for a job is something that is challenging, but having your own business is much more challenging than that.

I don't need a resume at this time, but if I ever do, I will consider consulting you

Attaching portfolios is tricky with resumes since every case is different and that's someone's info, even if the data is anonymized it's still someone else's private data.

tailoring to the job is priority

many resumes are not read by humans (unless small business)
HR departments use software that reads a resume and looks for keywords and then scores those resumes by what keywords they include that meet their requirements. meaning they create a short list of applicants that closely fit the business needs on a rating system of keyword use

work out those keywords by seeing what the job criteria/description/requirements is.. and include those words specifically.
dont use synonyms or adjectives that elaborate to mean the same. actually use their words.

EG
if they ask for a team leader
dont write "i oversaw projects that required many employees to work together"
even saying "lead a team" can lower your score

write "i was a team leader for many projects"

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

This is true we were taught to adjust our resume depending on what is needed and if there are any information we feel as though it would not be really useful or appropriate for what we are applying for then we could just remove it

Resumes are supposed to be straightforward so get to the point and show the employer that you already are what they are looking for

Even with the best resume reviewers, one needa to remember about the actual job position and the company that you are applying for.

You really have to adjust your resume or cv whenever you apply for specific positions.

One generic resume for all the jobs or positions that you are applying for might work but what I am saying here is that, it is still going to depend to the company you have applied for so, mostly sell yourself out in the best that you can because every recruiter is different.
