If you decide to make it public then the right way to do it is on github, that way the community can make it a better code.

But here are some ethical problems, you should not make public the work from a developer even if you pay for the code, because if that developer wanna sell more copies then you just kill his business and all his work.

If the code comes with the Installation Documentation then you should install it yourself.

But I'm of the idea that talking is the right way to fix any problem, and this kind of action never end well. But good luck anyway.

I even found a comment phoenix-gambling left a few months ago explaining the whole situation.

You say you're a developer? Then you should know that's not how software licenses work. See, when someone writes a program and shares it under a certain license they still have rights over that code.  Stuff like how it can be used, changed, or passed around and  unless you wrote it yourself or got the ok from whoever did, you can't just sell it.  Thats infringing on their intellectual property rights.

I can provide you with over 10 individual cases where Phoenix gambling scammed their own customers by not providing them with what they promised - Original developer would NOT do that.

You can ask for a refund if part of the terms is they are going to install the script or there is support for a specific time, you never resell a script you bought especially here in Bitcointalk you're going to get a tag for reselling without permission.

You got the source code, 3 updates and 1 installation.
You then reset your server for no reason and wanted 2nd installation -> you wanted this because you wanted to resell the code. (because crash and slots were added so you wanted a new version to resell)

First of all it's not always about 1 post or merit that a user intends why he/she try to share information on the forum. The decodx is a decent member and has been actively contributing on the forum for a long time and calling such things isn't fair at all.

Well whatever you said falls into stealing of someone else's work and modifying it then claiming it as yours. That's a type of copyright theft if I'm not wrong, and selling of a code that's free is a type of scamming somehow. The public code always comes with a license and selling someone's work without their permission is illegal.

And when it comes to OP, I can say that he got frustrated because someone sold him a code that's available freely on Github and that's why he created this thread and leaked the code. In fact he didn't leaked the code because the code was already freely available on Github.

I'm doing this community a favor for taking the garbage code and turning it into a usable piece of software but hey, as they say, do good, get fucked.

It was simply published by the original devs as they didn't want to continue developing the software as it was full of bugs already.

it was simply published by original devs right before they quit the project.
It's not like I took an open source code for something and decided to proclaim it mine - The devs explicitly allowed anyone to take it and use it as a base for their project. And so I did.

You can offer support, provide updates and bug fixes, and charge for these services, but that still doesn't grant you rights to the original script or its derivatives.

If there's no license then it is free distribution, when you claim to own a script then you should be the creator or you have a license for it coming from the original creator, everything emanates from the original creator if you have no deal with the original creator it's not yours or you modified it and claim it as yours.

I never said phoenix was the owner but just one of the resellers who pasted their logo all over the base code.
I will continue this discussion once someone posts the information on original owners of the code, meaning name, last name, country, address etc.

I cant prove something doesnt exist (aka the code has no owner) but you can prove the original dev exists... so where is he?

I'm not sure why are we even discussing this and not the fact the OP tried to resell my code (When i say my code i mean MY UPDATES TO PLUBLICLY AVAILABLE CODE) + my installation guide.

1) Its quite sad to see people accusing others with 0 evidence + I have all the evidence to show phoenix gambling are scammers yet people on here constantly choose to ignore it.
2) the buyer (OP) agreed with me that the installation would take place yesterday yet he posted my code (my updates) for sale on here 3 days prior and then he chose to lie to me about that not being him.

I don't work with scammers and liars and he did both those things - I'm not obligated to install it for him as he broke the agreement we had + he lied to me.

You also can create a flag against @swaga, there are elements of fraud here considering that you did not get what you paid for. Other users should be warned of the risk of trading with @swaga.

Also, he got everything he paid for prior to trying to scam me - After he tried to scam me the deal was off and I wasn't obligated to follow through with the installation.

2) I cant prove Phoenix is not original dev - It's on them to prove they ARE original devs, not vice versa.
