I am yet to see a person who made gambling his career and his source of livelihood  who is normal and celebrated. OP can you advise your child or loved one to imitate someone that lives such a lifestyle?. Of course no. There are many positions that can be chosen for a career in a gambling company, but if you have a career by being an active gambler, I'm not sure whether that can be called a career or just a gambler. The only successful career in gambling is either you start the betting company I.e if you have the capital to start or you work for the company and when you do, don't be a gambler yourself, take that responsibility and look elsewhere if you want to bet else you will lose the salary and may even borrow to play because you will always have the urge to play too of you are not discipline.

Gambling places are not for steady income, if you want steady income with gambling, online or offline, you have to be an owner, you need to build your own casino, and watch yourself growing up into a filthy rich billionaire in the world.
