So, rich people will control the quality or whatever content that are posted? Is that not what are happening with mass media today, where super rich people own large amounts of shares in media companies and thus control the content that are pushed through that media...?

Yes, I understand the goal is not to give rich people the control to censor content, but rather to improve the quality of the content that are posted, but it is unfortunately one of the disadvantages of a "quality control" system like that.

This makes sense. A quality article will always bring more interest, therefore it has a greater potential for profit (displayed advertisements, for example). But such will be suppressed because someone paid a bust for the content of average quality. It sounds quite centralized for a news portal.

No thank you, i still preffer the merit system on this forum. More merit more rank, more rank more payment in signature campaigns, a single quality post here can pay som 3500 sats without payanything for write it.

I'm not yet use this website, but my assumption is a newbie can able to post for free with limited visibility and when someone send him 1 sat, he can't post for free anymore and start to spend 1 sat if he want to keep posting.

In terms of money, it's obvious this forum is better than their site.

But the UI in this site is modern and may attract people who like to discuss about Bitcoin in a new interface.

If I have 50 BTC to spend, I can control the stacker website with my alts. Maybe I can sensor the kind of information I dish by allegedly sending bitcoin to rank my post, and in the end the bitcoin is returning to me.

But the merit system, although it has some flaws but you have to earn merits before you will have an smerit and abuse is possible only when a merit source is involved.
Every system has it's strength and weaknesses but the bitcointalk is so exceptional.

and because of that, in my opinion, mass media platforms with decentralized and centralized systems are the same because someone with their "power" can manipulate the content spread on the platform by doing it like that. What differentiates this platform is only the system, which provides rewards to users and is crypto-based, but in general this platform has loopholes and can be manipulated just like mass media in general.

and as far as i remember there is a similar project with a system like this called read.cash where people can boost posts and give rewards to their users. it is decentralized and based on bitcoin cash. but currently the platform is no longer active in providing rewards to its users, perhaps due to a lack of funds.

Wasn't steemit the same crap? Which I think is still around, Imagine going to a forum asking for help trying to learn a few things in a matter of a few month, you'd have to pay with a possibility of not getting your answer.

If anyone wants to contribute, they should do it for free as a donation of knowledge, but when you start pricing and charging a fee for that, you'll become a joke.

Maybe we should ask admin to put up free ad spaces for that forum, this way all the spamming plagiarized garbage will go there and dry them out, lol I figure if only 30% of bounty section population of this forum finds out about this new pay per post forum, they will have to close shop and retire early over there.

That's true it can be manipulated to promote a platform, you have two accounts and one of your accounts will be used to write an article about one platform, and the other one will use his sats to rank the article in the network thereby gaining more readers and followers on that platform it works like an advertising network because you are paying to advertise.

Not everyone can vote by paying and not all the best articles are ranked up because they are competing against manipulative advertisers on that platform, this is why its not gaining enough support compared to Medium and PublishOx.

Not only buy but control stacker.news and create many sites that are stacker.news related, but honestly, this site can be subjected to abuse and manipulation like a scam project shill articles find their way to the top of the news because they have the budget to push the article on top of the network and this will make stacker.news a hub of scammers.

The site may be out of their radar now but once it increases its rank it will be a target of manipulation.
I still think that Reddit and Bitcointalk are the best sources of information, its free and anyone can participate in appreciating the pieces of information provided by merits and upvotes.

I honestly doubt these extra rewards are necessary, not to mention they come from sources that normally won't give them a lot of money. Or maybe that is their goal in the first place? To encourage people to keep posting and look for upvotes instead of extra daily rewards. Their job boards are also quite empty, bit of a shame since I think that is probably better than running bots to bump people's posts.

Not true, merits or upvotes has nothing to do with information being presented, I have seen useless comments/articles/posts getting a lot of merits but technical posts get less than average.
What you need to note is the person giving merits, nowadays half of the sources are either corrupt or biased.
Never base correctness of information on likes, merits etc.
Regarding the spammers, scammers not knowing about that site, good news for them, bad news for us, they know about bitcointalk and already nested and infected every single place of this once great forum.
This forum is also filled with manipulation, censor, discrimination, abuse, fraud, lies, the only difference is how they give you freedom to say whatever you want.(just don't say anything "manipulators" don't like).

One advantage this new site has over bitcointalk, well there is no advantage, here people can scratch each others back or even their alt accounts to gain trust and status simply by transacting a few bucks back and forth, from right pocket to left pocket. In here we also have ring kissers, they do anything to please their masters.
Now expand beyond this forum, go global and you'll see the same thing happening in all the governments.
And the only solution is to burn them all to the ground, corruption has to burn from the roots.😉

I think what it has done, more than anything else, is foster high-level communication about Bitcoin between enthusiasts. Not low-value shitposts like you see across Bitcointalk. The lightning sats are just an added incentive - when you add them up, they aren't really worth much. Even the most upvoted posts there have only like 20k sats or something (less than $100).
