If you are looking for a mentor, you may look for like three good traders that can mentor you. To talk about the price, the mentors will be the ones that will tell you that this is the amount of money that they want to collect. with the situation these days, very few people care about what you are doing, unless, they can get something out of it. this is why it is quite difficult to find a sincere mentor who will guide you in every step of the way. much better if you don't look for strangers but person who is closed to you who knows the market. because this person, won't force you to give certain percentage of profits. he will be more than happy to succeed your path in trading more than anything else. it means, he did something right for you.

Honestly you wont really be needing one considering that those mentors are speculators too on which dont think that they are really that better since they do have that called title "mentor" but this is something that wont really be that you could trust yourself on hovering yourself into this field of trading. Dont make yourself that believe that they are surely profitable.Also if you are really that serious on stepping up your game or skills
then making yourself learn on solo way and also there are groups which are totally free on which you could really be able to snip out some trading ideas on which it would really be that something ideal or would really be that helpful on your part or with your progress. Maybe what is more appropriate is fees, and usually this is discussed at the beginning before starting mentoring unless the mentor is the closest person in your community and he doesn't charge fees, so if he doesn't charge fees it shouldn't be a problem no matter how much you give, although of course it should be a gift that can please him or you can give it when you have progressed in your trading or when you have been able to make quite a lot of money and you can leave a few percent for the mentor's gift that has made your trading progress well.

Hard to drop some figures on how much legit mentors ask since maybe they have different figures set and asked to those people who want to learn from them then maybe try to seek for a person who offer the said service then try to negotiate with him regarding to the figures he ask. But try to make it face to face teaching and seek for trading mentor that can go to your place or you can go to him to avoid getting scam. Even when we do more of trading class sometimes I think one might still need some physical coaching from those who are experienced so that we can have a one on one question and answer section, most of the time trading practice through demo account can be little deceiving as their is always a higher chance of the person trading with such account winning trade that’s how I believe those memo account as been designed to do.

I notice that when you learn to trade and you decide to start with a demo account, you might be winning, but if you decide to switch to your main account immediately, you will start losing. Why not avail those free trading courses online? there are so many of it available since you don't need to pay mentor with that since it just save you some money and reading the articles offered by those free courses is much more helpful to you. There are so many scammers online and might they will take advantage on you especially when you are posting or stating your want to have some people like this. But to be honest we don't really need this since we just need to exert more efforts on researching since for sure we can learn how to trade. If you are worried that you can't learn by doing this since you feel bored reading any articles that can help you then think about that if trading is really for you. Nothing is a fit for all in every situation. Whatever decision you want to take as reward system for your prospective mentor will depend on the mentor. If someone is going to mentor you for free, the best thing you can do for them is pay attention to what they're teaching you. No mentor likes a student who doesn't pay attention to what they're taught. Fees vary from one mentor to the other and  It is not in our capacity to decide what you should compensate the mentor with. What you should be concerned about is getting a dedicated mentor. While you are in search of a mentor,  it is important to note that you do not rely on  the mentor 100% . You can still do your findings/research on your own. This will help you know where exactly you need clarity.  Will also help you know when the mentor is being cunning or digressing. Most self acclaimed mentors do not give full disclosure on how to trade effectively and efficiently.  If you are lucky to get someone who will teach you whole heartedly, then good for you. But remember this, do not rely solely on the mentor's advice.

Everything could be taught but except a few, which is risks management/emotional handling/discipline/risks tolerance. You could really be that able to know on everything sample in theories but there are things
which cant really be that be taught or be teached up on whose mentor or teacher you would really be having since these things could really be acquired just through real experience and dealing and this is something that would really be just that normal that everything could really be applied on the time that you would really be personally dealing up with things on your own. If you think that hiring a mentor will improve your trading skills, then go for it. But it's hard to look for it on some random strangers that you only find online. Of course, they will surely claim that they have been successful and profitable in all their trades which I think is not true at all since even professional and expert traders still lose in trading. I suggest that you find some personal friends that are into trading, at least the chances of not to be scammed is still high.

However, I must say that not everything in trading is learned through mentoring, because some are self-learned just like managing your own emotions in trading, dealing with the high risks in trading, and making yourself at ease and calm with the high market volatility. I agree with you, but because there are so many mentorship programs available, the fees are affordable. However, this does not imply that they are poor mentors; there are some mentors who simply want our money despite the fact that they are aware that they cannot foresee the price of bitcoin and do not know how to trade. My own opinion will be different from other people's. Why I said that is because I don’t think a mentor is necessary in trading, and I won’t advise you to get one. The reason you lost money for the first time is due to your ignorance, which means you don’t have sufficient knowledge that is needed, and you went and started trading.
That is why knowledge is very important; you need to be knowledgeable about everything you are about to do.

However, a mentor is not necessary since you want to go back to your trading journey. I think it depends on the level of knowledge and experience and the track record of the mentor about how good he has been doing himself in his trading career. It also depends on what kind of guidance and mentorship you are looking for. If you are okay with someone with not a lot of expertise but are doing okay themselves, you will probably need to pay less to them for mentorship. However, if you want someone who is an expert in the market and can also educate you about fundamental and technical analysis and all other important things, you will obviously need to pay a higher amount.

While getting a mentor for trading is a good idea, I don't think it'll be worth to pay for that mentor who is only getting some insights also with other people. I agree, real traders don't need to add a hustle and mentor any one who wants to be taught. Perhaps they are your friend, or relative then you can hand them some money from your profit. Not all mentors require some kind of reward, Most mentors are in better position than their mentee's so they know that their service to you in form of mentorship cannot really be rewarded. Some just need to be appreciated every now and then with little gestures of appreciation like gifts etc. They do not need to demand it of course before you act.

The best reward for some other mentors for their mentorship is also you their mentee striving to become better and more independent enough to mentor another person, so they can be proud of you.

He said "when I met" so I think he doesn't have any mentor yet. But if the mentor is like you said (the people we already knew) it was actually easy to negotiate with them and it's also easy to learn because we are already comfortable with them.

We are lucky if we have such people because we don't need to put in much effort to look for a legit mentor and may be most of them can ask an expensive fee for their service. It's normal that the people we know can't decide if how much is the appropriate fee for their service when we ask them. Mentor is there to teach you and to guide you, and not to feed you so this is the biggest difference between a mentor and a trading signal. So having a mentor can be a big help as long as he’s a legit mentor and just asking for something based on what you have agreed on. You absolutely got the OP wrong, such is at the right lane in trading as knowledge is power and the OP seeks it. The OP seeks mentorship, this is not a signal provider, a copy-trading arrangement or a lazy approach, and it's better than having a teacher in trading who will only teach and abandon the student. Mentorship is sharing your knowledge and technical know-how with someone in a bid to groom such a person until the knowledge and experience of the mentor are successfully passed to the mentee. This arrangement will show the OP how to trade and will reduce the time to be wasted by such as direct knowledge would be transferred without try-by-errors.

You cant blame out people on having that allergic kind of approach towards mentors yet it is true that everything could really be learned or could really be searched online on which there's no need for some mentor
or gurus that would really be teaching you up into those skills that you do want to learn but its true that if you want to fasten things up a bit then its not bad to consider on getting one but of course there's always a fee or subscription that you would be needing to pay but i dont really see the difference between those paid and free ones yet approach towards the market will really be always that speculative and  this is why

Right. Personally, I would prefer having a mentor. That is what I’ll be doing. But I understand why many traders dont want this kind of setup. They might believe in a trial and error approach because they think that they can learn best from their own mistakes. I would say classes would be a good place to start, I do not have anything like that near me, I do not think that there are trading schools where I live as a whole nation, but if there were any places like that I am sure that it will be filled and everyone would be trying to get a place there.

 If you happen to bump into a high quality mentor, I believe giving him some shares of your profits is not enough. Although everyone is up for profits, but the best thing that you can reward your mentor is your success that you obtained from your trading career. Trading can be for everyone but not everyone is capable to trade and make it work. And if you're lucky enough that you are gifted with the skills in trading, then most likely you don't achieved it just by your own self but you also take credits from your mentor. Because a mentor that is not motivated with greed for profits is most likely the mentor that will help you throughout your trading journey regardless of inevitable losses in the process.

Many might claim to be mentors yet they lack all it takes to actually mentor someone.  Potential mentors are hard to find. The few we see around only do it for the sake of the rewards they'll get after the mentorship.  Some mentors are trick, they conceal vital information from their mentees.

Getting a mentor is not a guarantee that you will do well in trading. Having a mentor is not bad either. While undergoing the mentorship training,  we also do our research and practice on our own too. The mentor will only teach,  he won't be held accountable for your mistakes later in the future. Ask questions,  check trends and histories. Copy trading will help too. By doing this, you are getting knowledge from different sources which will help you make decisions and trade effectively.

I suggest do not focus first on the rewards you can offer to the mentor. The fact that you pay him decent amount for every trading session, then that's enough for now. Focus on how to build your skills and strategies as a trader. And you can achieve that through frequent market experience as you become highly exposed to what real trading is all about. I think I'm missing something here. As a learner you have no chance to decide on the reward to gift your mentor unless it's a free course, the mentor will decides on what he/she will accept and you may either chose to agree or disagree. But as you requested, I assume it to be a free class and in that regard I will say it depends on individual but regardless, the best reward for mentorship is gratitude and appreciation. Although everyone value gratitude in different ways, to some it maybe material gift or cash while some are satisfied with a mere thank you. So you need to figure out which one the mentor prefer and you can start from there. As for frequency, it will depend on how long you both agreed with each other but it is also good to keep up with the appreciation even after your learning period.

Give him the profits he deserved. You won't be that capable you envisioned right now without your mentor that has been guiding you all the way. And if asked if how often this should be, as long as you want to share with him your profits. That's how simple it is. And as a suggestion, find a mentor that is already close to your heart so that you can easily trust him and the doubts if he will only scam you will never happen. There's a lot of good mentors around, but only rare of them can be trusted and can entrust yourself as a trader to be the best that you can be.

Meeting potential mentors is hard to come across these days because some claim what they're not. Honestly, I understand this feeling. At some point, I started using copy trading to fill up the space of my earning while I learn. I don't think it would hurt to have a mentor. But you must be careful about who you take on as a mentor. Because you may not be able to do much without a good and wise mentor. Your mentor should be someone who has already reached the destination you want to reach and has already led many people to that destination through his orders. Not everyone is always able to learn easily by watching videos and reading books, but if there is someone who can teach him offline, then it will be better. According to the Op, he already tried and lost money. I have a fair knowledge about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I can hold down a good conversation in it however when it comes to trading, I have come to the point where I need to up my game. In my opinion there are two ways to pay a possible mentor that is going to help you with trading. It's either going to be a fixed flat fee that you agree upon before the mentorship starts and that you would likely pay in instalments over time as long as the mentor helps you. Or a second approach would be to give him a percentage from your first trading profit. It comes down to how much time and effort the mentor invests in you. For example, if you meet in person a few times per week and have long conversations where you discuss possible trading strategies in detail than letting him participate on your profits sounds fair to me. Especially when the trading strategies are being developed together with a lot of input from the mentor, than giving him a percentage of your return would be a nice incentive. A 10-20% profit participation gives a good incentive for the mentor to develop the best possible strategy together. Whereas with a flat fee there is not such a high incentive for the mentor to get you the highest possible return. You could also combine the two payment models, agree to a smaller flat fee being paid per month and give him a bonus at the end if your trading have been profitable and successful.

Appreciation can be done by doing many things and I think showing respect to a mentor is enough. But if we want to do something more than that, maybe one of the things I would do is to give a gift to his family. If a mentor already has a child, it's great to give the child a gift. Even though it's not much, it's a form of appreciation for the mentor through their child.
What I see from my experience when I have a mentor, they will be very happy when we as "students" give more attention to their family, one of which is their child.

That's the truth because they don't need excessive appreciation when they have received payment according to the agreement. The most we can do is promote his trading to other people, that he really has good skills in teaching trading, so that many other people will learn from him.
