Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Splitters do not work correctly with all motherboards, so you may want to ask your splitter dealer about this.
This is an old motherboard for Intel 4th Gen Core processors.
Take a closer look at the classic options for 8 video cards

It depends on the CPU for how many lanes are available, Core has more than Celeron.
Check the specs to see if any lanes are shared and if you can or need to disable some other peripherals.
Try to get a 4 lane splitter, one with USB connectors, but be careful it's PCIe and not a USB card.

If you want to mine on old motherboards, then find a kit with a 2-core processor and 3 memory on this motherboard GA-970A-DS3P.
I've used them and they work well with 5 video cards. On old motherboards through adapters there are problems with mining on new series of video cards.

It did not not try with h81 but tried with h110. It works for some time but after it crashes or low performance on some cards. After that i never used pcie splitters.

I used a long time ago PCI-E splitter on 775 socket motherboard based on Intel P43 chipset which older than Intel H81.
AMD GPUs worked well, but Nvidia GPUs don't detected correctly on it.
Most mining board used the same chip which used on PCI-E spliters e.g. Asrock H110 Pro BTC+, ASUS B250 Mining Expert (ASMedia ASM1187, splitters usually used for 4-port ASM1184)
Success depends on many reasons, but mainly the implementation of PCI-E bus lines on the motherboard, presence 4G Decoding in the BIOS for proper allocation of address space, the freshness of the chipset for example on H110 newer the chance is much higher, on older chipsets only experimentally with a particular model.

last time i tried using z87 msi gaming mobo, but isnt worthed for the price pcie splitter + mobo, and quite pain in ass, sometimes crash and annoying to fix it, really annoying
i would suggest proper mining mobo and basically cheap + included with cpu.

He's already got the mobo. Buying a mobo & a splitter would just be silly.

Adapters in mining on such motherboards are random in stable mining on video cards.
What video cards do you plan to use on this motherboard? If you want to use new video cards later, then I would buy a more modern motherboard.

Do not experiment with such old hardware. If you have too much time, sure buy a splitter an test it. But it is better to buy newer used parts. I get mining mobos for around 20€ or a normal z270 board with cpu and ram for 50€ or less. Chinese mining motherboards with CPU and RAM is available for around 80€.

Just yesterday i bought gigbayte b250 fintech with cpu g3930 and 4gb ram for 40 bucks  Grin if i were you i will look for that.you will pay 7-10bucks for splitter. Add some money and you got proper mobo no need for headache.

GA-B250-FinTech is also a very good solution, but lately I prefer that the motherboard have USB connectors for raisers. It seems to me that this is more reliable and helps to avoid beginner mistakes when the raiser is connected to the motherboard incorrectly.

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 motherboard has only two PCIE slots.
I used two PCIE splitters: DCBTC2 PCIE Splitter.
It drives 8 GPU without any poblem.

I asked about the other mobo because I found really cheap price mobo + cpu + ram.
So i asked about it. I think i will buy one set and try.
Then i will decide to buy more or not.

What video cards will you install in the farm?
Raisers do not have protection against short circuits and therefore video cards can burn out in the event of any malfunction. Miners don’t use this method now.
If you want to mine coins for a long time, then my experience has taught me to use new equipment. In the interval of 2-4 years you will lose more on failures and time on setup and so on. What you want to do will only work as a temporary solution, but nothing more.
