Hello everyone,

I am fairly new to Bitcoin, but I've got a few miners running on Slush's Pool and will soon be looking at making my own custom miner. Getting my head around the whole protocol for mining at the moment, I srota get it, but there's a few blanks that I'm sure I'll work out in time. I will also be documenting the protocol as I write bits for it and releasing them somewhere. If anyone has any suggestions on things I could read to help I would be grateful.

I'm also making a simple installer, front end and manager for Namecoin under windows, although that's just something I'm doing to make my own life easier, so that'll be done when it's done.

I look forward to being part of this community once I have broken free of the "Newbies" section.

How D :-)

Bitmining is cool, or rather warm.  I wish I lived in Iceland where electricity is cheap and the bitmining biproduct of heat is actually usefull.  (double bonus)  I'd hate to be doing it in Hawaii. :-)  I live in the US midwest plains where we get all sorts of weather.  I like the idea of bitmining when its cold out and i'm using the furnace, but in the summer when I have to use the air conditioning, I'm not sure about the idea.
