This is rich coming from a company with one of the earths biggest scumbags to ever live, a guy whos uses things to cheat and scam people left and right, a guy who also SUPPORTS bitcoin and other types of cryptocurrency.  Zuckerberg has like a goat named bitcoin, something like that.

I have several posts about bitcoin that have not been deleted.  Is there an official statement about this anywhere??

They did not ban BTC only, instead, they banned all crypto-related posts published on their platform, well, I use Instagram almost daily, and I rarely find any BTC-related posts, maybe that's because I don't follow crypto-related channels but I do follow one and there posts are save. I will say, if they did not make any official statement then we should not panic and should not give that much importance to this controversy.

Because if they are even banning such posts, then let them, it is in their own harm, as they will lose the users that are there for crypto updates only, and if only a few user's accounts have been banned by the Instagram then they might be violating the rules.

And you care totally right about freedom of speech because all centralized platforms of Meta (FB, Whatsapp, Instagram, etc.) are so manipulative, that they even give like from your Facebook page, or profile to Israel-based pages without informing us.

Instagram Banned Bitcoin is not very regretted for Bitcoin lovers because it is far from what people want who do not like to show off wealth and show off things that are privacy on social media.

This will mostly affects those people who promote their project using that platform because I don't think instagram has a positive effects on bitcoin growth, so far bitcoin has already gain popularity even though instagram decided not to allow any content that involves cryptocurrency or bitcoin to be published over there doesn't restricts the growth and widespread of bitcoin also the entire advancement of blockchain technology.
I won't be surprised because of facebook do tried their best to make sure they launched their currency but so far I didn't hear any news about them anymore, so I think that same thing could likely affect IG as well.

Facebook and Instagram are no longer as effective as they used to be. In fact, it has no effect in most countries. If X had done this situation, I couldn't say the same things because X's impact is quite big.

This decision taken for Instagram does not bring any change to Bitcoin, on the contrary, it results in Instagram putting its name in the wrong place. Social media can no longer influence Bitcoin like it used to. In other words, it is not news that deserves much attention. Bitcoin is stronger and more robust than social media.

Ehh whatever. It doesn't really make much sense to have Bitcoin discussion on Instagram — an image photo sharing platform. If I were to guess most of the Bitcoin-related posts there are scams anyway.

Scam indeed, they are indeed lots of scammers who have used that platform to exploit weakness in most of the users there and one thing that is certain is that no matter how they continue to warn people still fall victim of the cases. For Instagram to ban Bitcoin, well I would not be surprised although I know they are also benefiting from some of the video ads that some of major CEX and wallet software like LUNO do on their platform.

When some government is trying to ban bitcoin then why should we care about a social media platform that has such a strict policy towards bitcoin that they won't allow their users to chat about it? Also that platform is popular for its image sharing so what is the point of talking about bitcoin there anyway? Who is going to notice or how does it make any difference for the bitcoin community.

I am not sure if this is true, but also I am not sure if its true but just purely ignored. I still have over 100+ accounts that I can follow, they are mainly crypto fun stuff not crypto advice stuff so its mostly jokes and not real like trading advice type of stuff maybe that's the reason. However, all of them are still valid, if I missed a few then maybe they could have gotten banned and I didn't notice, but there is a total of 100+ crypto related places that I still follow, some of them serious news related crypto websites that have thousands of followers too. I guess its not really followed up that carefully and that could be one of the reasons why they are still there. All in all, twitter is still by far better for crypto chatter.

I don't know why there should be much noise about Bitcoin being banned on Instagram.
Instagram is a social platform that is picture and video conscious along with promotions it offers. It isn't an exchange nor does it use the decentralized system or network to function.
There's been so many cases of scammers therein and many of which come in the form to accept BTC as payments only to turn out to be scam.

I have met one or two persons there that were of the ploy to give directions to an NFT site that accepts crypto but isn't legal, or better put, it's a scam site.

Am sure with this ban, the consciousness of dealing with scammers on the platform will be woken and more alert to potential scammers, unless where it's a business account and BTC is acceptable for them, then it is their own egg to fry and not a concern of Instagrams'.

I would say this is  something good because the scams on Instagram ads are getting crazy nowadays. It looks like is the favorite way for the hackers to get new victims, so, I'm not surprised by their decision.

But isn't clear at all if they only banned Bitcoin or everything related to cryptos. Or if they only ban bitcoin on the ads or users are getting banned if mention it. Let's see in the next days how this results and if other social networks takes the same initiative.

maybe, they are just playing safe on this matter, and banning crypto-related things on their platform. at least they won't be blamed when scammers attack their users. as most users are still naive from potential fraud owed to crypto-related activities, it is no doubt they don't want themselves to be entangled on this problem.

They can ban all they want, sooner or later they would really be able to realize that they are already late in the game once this crypto market would really be making some moon.
Its not really that totally shocking that there would really be platforms or companies that would really be that banning bitcoin just because of some personal reasons or whatever views that they do really have.
Wont really be that get shocked on the time that they would really be reverting their decisions and telling that they are really that accepting Bitcoin payments instead. lol.

We've seen several similar banning situation but ending up on reverting or revoking those decisions and rather they would really be that getting in line with it.
It is really just that pretty normal that not everyone could really be please out by BTC but those decisions will really be reverted and we are much sure.
Just incase if they would not, then it wont really be that an issue, recognition is really that inevitable.

I'm surprise that you are surprised, it's not something odd or new about other centralized platforms. Instagram is own by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Facebook don't like crypto related activities, even when they allow people do post, they only allowed them because they aren't to strict about it but the truth is that, they don't like crypto related activities and that's why Facebook and Google don't like crypto adverts, they don't want to feed people with crypto related adverts.

X(formerly Twitter) is the only platform that recognized bitcoin and crypto, could be because of Jack Dorsey influence as he loves bitcoin back then and now you even get a customized tag for Bitcoin. They should continue but if most people that use all this platform decide not to use them again, I believe they are going to see heavy decline in revenue. A time might come when we will start to have our own social media strictly bitcoin and crypto.

I'm not on Instagram and yes, it's owned by Meta(Facebook) too and I don't know if that actually happened for some reason. If they have banned Bitcoin, it is the actual word? What is it for them? Just like some few platforms before that have banned crypto related posts and then reverted it after a while. I'm not shocked and there's nothing to be shocked of with that. It's fine to see do platforms do whatever they think is necessary.

We're done to that period that we're too worried about them banning bitcoin, ads related to crypto's etc. Honestly, I want Google to ban more of these crypto projects that uses them to maximize their viewership because many of them are scams. So, like what I've said, the platform itself can do whatever it want. If management wants to ban bitcoin, the word on their captions, chats, etc, that's their decision and it won't stop us from investing and holding bitcoin just because of that news. And they can't stop the push that's currently being seen and done for bitcoin's price.

But remember that bitcoin needs mass adoption and reach more people in roder to get less volatility, also there is no such thing as bad publicity.
So as a bitcoiners we need that bitcoins become more popular outside of our circle.

But inasmuch that Bitcoin needs mass adoption and awareness to a whole lots of people who haven't know about it's existence, I don't think there should be any issue while it been banned on instagram will stop people from  still creating further such awareness on other alternative social media such as the likes of TikTok, Reddit and Pinterest where they also have larger audience too, and even physical seminars and talk shows will literally also go a long way in creating such awareness too, rather than relying on only just one social media, because one thing I have seen about social media platforms is that it's policies are changed from time to time.

I totally understand how shocked and confused you are by what's happening. The fact that people cant talk about Bitcoin on Instagram does bring up some important issues. Its interesting to think about the Winklevoss boys, but its very important not to jump to conclusions without solid proof. That's actually the top 1 reason. Meta stated that this is to protect the users from scams. Bitcoin becoming more popular and being advertised as an easy way to make a profit out of your investment. There should have multiple reports of scams that's why they have taken action by adding a restriction when it comes to promoting Bitcoin. As I see it, this is for the safety of the users to avoid exposure to fraud/Ponzi schemes.

Exactly, a platform that should be for posting a photo of your daily activities and such but getting used as a channel to promote fraud/scams. How people use Instagram is not aligned with how it was designed. Many people are taking advantage of promoting on Instagram as it can easily be seen by a lot of people.
