That title looks like something else, Instagram never banned Bitcoin, only post related to Bitcoin we're banned on Instagram, and that's because of Instagram new ad policy that seeks to restrict the promotion of financial products and services that may not meet regulatory requirements.

The biggest issue with Twitter right now is it's now a social media platform where everyone can shill their crap projects and it's hurting the platform, if Bitcoin is allowed to be discussed, many people will be taken advantage of because many people will also start talking about the next Bitcoin that has the next x1000 potential.

We shouldn't feel concerned about this, because Instagram belongs to Mark Zuckerberg, and it's not the same of Facebook, I think he feels Instagram is special and no such thing should exists on the platform, but who cares? Bitcoin still prevails without the help of any platforms so it's all still good.

Twitter is not like other social networks and that is what makes twitter different, that is freedom of speech, what Elon always wanted when buying Twitter. Although there will be consequences if freedom of speech is not censored, it also has positive aspects if used to talk about other areas such as politics...Furthermore, social media means there will be many users from many different fields, not just crypto users. If you are a newbie and fall into a scam trap, it is your greed that has harmed you, don't try to blame social networks.

But I agree with you, I don't see any effect this will have on bitcoin, bitcoin doesn't need any support from these social networks. Bitcoin is trending in the world and those who ban it are only harming themselves.

Bitcoin's popularity is not only limited to Instagram, but countries, nations, organizations and famous people all over the world are Bitcoin holders. Just banning instagram bitcoin can't stop the popularity of bitcoin. Not long ago, Twitter's new CEO Elon Musk sold all of his bitcoins, which did not diminish Bitcoin's popularity in any way. So it will be the same in case of instagram no matter how many bans there will be no change in the popularity of bitcoin.

There are many different social media platforms that can be used to promote Bitcoin. Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok, and others related to it are still there. In fact, all social media platforms can be used by exploitative people or scammers.

It seems that scammers are everywhere, especially on Facebook, but Facebook has not banned Bitcoin, except for Instagram. Well, it's their rules, and it's not ours either; probably Bitcoin can even be lost by Instagram. Maybe when the price of Bitcoin rallies in the market, Instagram will withdraw its ban on Bitcoin.

Since Meta is issuing its own cryptocurrency, it may not want other cryptocurrencies to be used and displayed on its platforms. This may be a commercial justification for the Meta but Bitcoin is the origin of crypto and making it invisible and robbing it is to the Meta's detriment. Everyone knows Bitcoin now, and bans only increase its visibility. Banning Bitcoin from the entire platform because of fraudulent activity is not wise. On the contrary, it's cutting people off from the crypto. I hope that Mark Zuckerberg will reverse this mistake as soon as possible.

This is probably what they want the public to believe but I think it’s far from the truth, they are not even entirely restricting all crypto related promotion on their profile but rather they are highly targeting those profiles that shill for crypto currency and not even bitcoin in particular.

And this their action could be as a result of wanting to gain revenue from such promotion, those who are willing to pay for advertisements be it crypto currency or not they will also allow it to be displayed on instagram, their straight rules are just targeting those who are doing their marketing and promotion using their instagram page.

If it's just because he wants to issue his own cryptocurrency, I think there's no point in banning Bitcoin from being discussed on their social media, in fact when Bitcoin is removed it will have an impact on their own social media because there are quite a few people who carry out activities on Instagram social media who talk about it. Bitcoin will certainly leave their social media and instead lose users for this action.

Regarding fraud that occurs on Instagram, of course this is a problem, but that doesn't mean that it actually closes down education about bitcoin itself on their social media, in fact there are many who have nothing to do with bitcoin/crypto, such as other buying and selling, who commit fraud, and this cannot be done can be controlled easily, that reason is quite strange logic in my opinion.

This is shocking news for the Bitcoin banned by Instagram. From its platform, the conversation about Bitcoin and Bitcoin was hidden by Instagram. Until now, Instagram has not given an official statement about this, but there are several users who have started to be affected. Why do you think it is? Is it because Libra and Diem that the project failed or was it ordered by SC or the revenge of the Winklevos brothers who are rich from Bitcoin. Instagram is clearly a platform that does not support freedom of speech and only displays content according to the algorithm they want. What do you think guys ?
This isn't any deal here. Instagram is one of the many social media platforms out there. Why do we care if they ban bitcoin. Bitcoin is like water, it will always find its way. So if you block it here, there is another opening for it to go through.
Mark Zuckerberg is pained that his own crypto project just like his thread app did get the traction he thought it would and so he ban bitcoin and all things related to bitcoin on his Meta platform. Does this stop bitcoin awareness from growing? I don't think so. How about its adoption? No. What of its price. Still now. What Instagram has done is as insignificant as pouring water in a basket and expecting it to hold.

Instagram had been used as a marketing tool by most of the scammers. Whenever we see a post from a popular person and the below comments could all be flown with I made so and so using this much of capital and connected with a URL. This is what happening in the Instagram for a long. Maybe those could've have caused many users loss their holdings.

Instagram is just a memory making platform where users have got access to add regular photos and after years while they look it back it reminds of old days. With more and more features getting added to it, users started using it for different purposes. This is where the management would've decided to end the bitcoin related posts and allowing the shitcoins.
That's actually the top 1 reason. Meta stated that this is to protect the users from scams. Bitcoin becoming more popular and being advertised as an easy way to make a profit out of your investment. There should have multiple reports of scams that's why they have taken action by adding a restriction when it comes to promoting Bitcoin. As I see it, this is for the safety of the users to avoid exposure to fraud/Ponzi schemes.

Exactly, a platform that should be for posting a photo of your daily activities and such but getting used as a channel to promote fraud/scams. How people use Instagram is not aligned with how it was designed. Many people are taking advantage of promoting on Instagram as it can easily be seen by a lot of people.
Cryptocurrency-related advertisements are also banned on Facebook/Meta; it's quite reasonable and no surprise to see why they prohibit anything Bitcoin-related on Instagram too. It's not like it makes any difference, who bothers with cryptocurrency discussions on Instagram. However, I highly doubt that Meta actually cares about their users. I'm seeing a double standard here if we suppose that cryptocurrency advertisements were banned due to the large number of scams, since Facebook is filled with fake advertisements posing as a large corporation that is handing out free or extremely discounted products. Fake Temu ads have been popping up like crazy the past few months.

However, I'm now reading that the ban on cryptocurrency-related services was reversed in 2021 and instead has some relatively strict requirements. Although I don't recall seeing any featuring cryptos for quite a while, Perhaps I've seen it on Binance or Crypto.com, two of the most well-known exchanges, but I wouldn't take my word for granted.

I don't know why Instagram banned it, but it seems that not all accounts that talk about Bitcoin are banned. I still find one of the accounts I follow on Instagram still posting something about bitcoin, especially about trading education and also investment and opportunities. Obviously I'm not sure whether they will also be banned or not, what is clear is that Instagram is just social media and it is not a discussion forum.

Would someone expect there to be a major impact on bitcoin just because instagram banned bitcoin or something about being there? I don't think that's fair, but some in the media would probably make it as FUD.

Instagram due to its nature is not really the best place for those that want to find out more about bitcoin or to promote it, so this soft ban does not really have too much of an effect on the markets or on the way its users could use this platform, now if we saw the same happening at X then that could bring way more disruption and it could allow the media to generate a more effective FUD as people love to use X to discuss all kind of things related to this market.

Instagram was developed as a place for sharing captured moments at first before a lot of persons start using it for advertising and brand marketing. The main reason for the sanction of crypto related content is because of the security of the community. Scammers are impersonating rich individuals and stealing their content by creating fake clone accounts on Instagram to defraud people by promising 10000x of investments and lifetime wealth. The profile of people mostly used are crypto influencers that have a lot of money made from crypto especially Bitcoin precisely. I remember once when i wanted to go into cryptocurrency i joined a crypto pumped group on Instagram and they directed to me Telegram after i joined the Channel i participated in their first pump i was able to buy 100$ of the coin. After some time, the coin raised and i was seeing 1500$ as my profit but i could not withdraw or place a sell order till the coin dumped to nothing. That was a bad experience for me so i am not against what Instagram has decided because it will do more good than harm.

True. But what are they going to post on Instagram about wealth+bitcoin anyway? A picture of their hardware wallet? A screenshot of their wallet app balance? It doesn't make much sense. The only photo I could think of that someone might post are photos in a Bitcoin conference/meetup, and that's pretty much it.
How is there nothing to publish? In addition to photos from conferences, you can publish photos with lambos, yachts, huge villas and, of course, crowds of mulatto women around - like real goals achieved with the help of bitcoin. Smiley Although, wait a minute, in Instagram they post photos with this and without reference to bitcoin.

And what's shocking about this? Instagram is far from a top platform for discussing about bitcoin (or disseminating information about it). This is a platform for photos of cats, schoolgirls, blondes with plump lips and vacation photos. How much damage will bitcoin experience after the ban on Instagram? About zero, because there is no target audience there.

There are not so many platforms that support freedom of speech and are becoming fewer and fewer each time. Instagram was never like that.

I didn't find any official statements from Instagram banning Bitcoin subject from being mentioned on the platform. It seems like the ban was directed to some Bitcoin posts only, and not every Bitcoin posts. They may have their excuses to have done this, like fighting misinformation on the platform. People are still free to talk about Bitcoin on Instagram, and if any further censorship happens, the affected users should come in public and show what kind of content was censored, so we can have a better understanding if it was really about misinformation or or just persecution against Bitcoin by the centralized platform's operators.

Have you seen the amount of catfish accounts on Instagram? There are countless number of accounts posing to be successful traders, bitcoin investors or financial experts. They showcase a luxurious lifestyle knowing that will easily catch the eye of people. Scammers use Instagram as a tool of engaging their victims, IMO I think this ban will do more good than bad in terms of reducing investment scams online.

It’s silly to think that Instagram ( a social app where people post happy moments and lifestyle) is a place to get financial advice/investments, there are social media platforms that are “business and employment-focused” like Linkedin.

Although I don't recall seeing any featuring cryptos for quite a while, Perhaps I've seen it on Binance or Crypto.com, two of the most well-known exchanges, but I wouldn't take my word for granted

https://cryptobriefing.com/facebook-reverses-crypto-ad-ban/
Banning wont really be that shocking anymore on which platforms could neither be that allowing crypto related ads or post but doesnt mean that they are really that against with it, there are really that post or things involved with scams on which it would be normal that they would really be moderating for potential scams and just for the sake of peoples safety which it isnt bad. When it comes to decisions something like this then i dont really see for it to be that an issue because crypto community wouldn't really be caring at all because we been through lots of bans and restrictions but the price didnt really that go down hard.
There's always that recognitoin, it might be having some temporal dips but we know that in the end of the day, it would really be that going that low on which it wont really be that
shocking anymore.

They can ban all the ywant but pretty sure those effects wont really be that long lasting. If the price would dip because of ban news but it would really be making out some recovery
later on, on which its not really that shocking because community is really that strong and really that being supportive on what Bitcoin is really that making.
Banning is not new but doesnt mean that there would really be no u-turn on the future, lets see if they would really be making up such opposite decision.

Instagram banning bitcoin is good according to me because there have been several scams going on in Instagram.
So it's good that they suspended those accounts because they were promoting scams anyway.
Besides that, bitcoin doesn't need the support of any social media platform because it has it's way to reach the audience anyway.

Since Bitcoin conversation has been banned from Instagram I think it's good because Instagram doesn't need Bitcoin that much. Where the discussion of Bitcoin is criticized on various big and popular platforms, there will be no negative impact on any Bitcoin even if it is not discussed on Instagram. Where Bitcoin is discussed on Medium, Twitter, Reddit and many other popular platforms, Instagram is not very important. As it becomes popular, more and more platforms will quickly transact with Bitcoin and discuss Bitcoin as a whole. As the demand of Bitcoin is increasing day by day, the number of investors of Bitcoin is increasing, so I think even if Bitcoin is banned on Instagram, it will not have any negative effect on Bitcoin.

Who cares? Instagram isn’t the only place we can talk about crypto and it certainly isn’t the best place. People there want to show their new car, how fun their vacations was, their shiny jewelry etc… Maybe some crypto people spammed their stuff too much on the platform and it triggered Zuck. In the end most people on instagram don’t want to see crypto or talk about crypto. They want to see pretty girls and happy people doing happy things. When people saw too much crypto in their feeds, it drove people away probably and Zuck didn’t like it.

There are plenty of other platforms where we can discuss crypto. Twitter, reddit, btt are still alright. They can have instagram. I never visit it anyway.

Without a doubt, banning something has become such an old trick, right? When there is a ban or restriction, there is a shock wave that goes through the market, but let's be honest: the core community is still strong. The core of crypto, especially Bitcoin, is built on being strong and flexible. These bans are only short-term problems. The neighbourhood? Very strong. As we can see from past, the crypto community has been through a lot of bad things.

The never-ending cycle of bans and returns is now easy to guess. At first, theres a drop and maybe a little fear. But what happens next? Get better. Because people in the community know that crypto has worth and potential on its own. There have been many times when Bitcoin has shown its strength and shown doubters to be wrong. Today is a ban? A possible U-turn tomorrow. We can only wait and see what happens, but what about the community? We plan to stay here for a long time.
