The fundamentals of the two altcoins you mentioned are very strong, so don't hesitate to invest in both of them. My own portfolio has BNB, ETH and of course BTC as the first priority. I believe ETH in the long term is very good Because the original and strong blockchain ideology is in Ethereum. The impact, I think, is where the blockchain market will definitely go. Since BNB is “centralized” in nature, if there is a more robust decentralized solution, I believe the long-term market will move in that direction as well. Those coins you mention are the current leaders of the market especially ethereum where there are many strong projects under it like layer 2 projects that are definitely getting some attention lately and I believe has the strongest potential in having a trend next bull market. The centralized feature BNB is what others like or dislike it, it heavily rely on Binance which is centralized and also having it's own chain blockchain which is decentralized. It's a product that can be used on centralized and decentralized platforms, it just depend on you on where you will use it. So many altcoins lacks potential and when you are investing in them you to make a proper research of the coin and you have to at least know some certain things that you don't about the project, unlike some of the investors who rushed to invest in a coin that is newly launched and hoping that it will make a huge profit when we enter a bullrun and mistakenly or eventually a cryptocurrency market divert us to bearish and it happens that the bearish took a long time and some of the altcoins that doesn't have a potential die off because they could not withstand it, so therefore I'm saying that investing in altcoins that have potential that can survive in all time it should be ethereum, litecoin and BNB

Investing in Binance Coin (BNB) is pretty high-risk right now. Because the SEC filed a case against BNB. We don't know what the upcoming result is; hence, I don't feel it's good to invest right now. But Ethereum has the potential to grow. There is still no issue regarding Ethereum lately, so it's less risky for long-term holding. I am one of the ETH holders, and I have been out of the BNB for some time. I will monitor the market before taking entry on BNB. Likely a small amount I can risk on BNB. I like both of em, and in fact they're two of my top holdings (ETH 1st, BNB 3rd). Above BNB tho, I put BGB because its relatively newer,  managed to thrive regardless of all the fud around it recently and most of all, garnered a vibrant and massive community thanks to its many incentives available on various fronts. Its certainly one I'd say is primed for a pump as soon as the bull market begins proper.

honestly quite often some alts are increasing on their own, it doesn't necessarily need to be so fixated on bitcoin, remember arbitrum, it increased when bitcoin was still bearish and there are many more even meme coin in general aren't really dependent on bitcoin price trend.
i think its more of unified increase for altcoin that truly dependant on bitcoin and its often called altcoin season.
only when bitcoin done increasing that altcoin season usually comes, frequently also, ethereum is the one that increases first after bitcoin increase.

  Most of the time, those two are not missing from the top crypto in the market. And then it is not often left behind when the price of bitcoins is having a rally. So it's also good to invest there for long-term investment if you hold it for a few years, as long as you have the right timing when you sell it, for example, in the upcoming halving, where for sure there will be a lift that will happen.

An altcoin that is in the top cryptocurrencies in coinmarketcap right now doesn't necessarily have to be a good coin or token in the future because different metrics are checked before a coin is given the top position on the website and those metrics can always fluctuate with time. So, investing in a project just because it's among the top coins isn't a good idea, in my opinion, and one should do proper research and evaluation before investing any money in a certain coin.

Even if it is true there is a very high correlation between bitcoin and altcoins and once bitcoin moves in either direction altcoins have the tendency to follow, there are also circumstances that allow altcoins to move independently from time to time, one of those events is the altcoin season in which the price of bitcoin stagnates a little bit and altcoins grow at a very fast speed, the second reason that could cause an altcoin to move independently is for a big event happening around it, like being listed in a famous exchange or collaborating with a big company, so as you can see altcoins can move independently, it is just that this is a rare occurrence.
