I'm not sure if someone will get addicted if they gamble when they're lonely, I'm just afraid that those who are lonely take the action of gambling and because they can't control themselves they become addicted, where initially it was just to get rid of loneliness and when they gamble they may have other motives when gambling by pursuing victory, for example. You do not see anything interesting in gambling does not in any way mean that someone else doesn't see it as interesting man. Remember, one man's food is another man's poison. We cannot do without not being lonely sometimes, situations of things do vary sometimes that we are not prepared enough to plan for how we should get engaged to every aspect of loneliness in us, some are occasional while some are just indeliberate by us, getting busy with gambling is one of the means we can adopt to avoid loneliness, but we shouldn't take it as an advantage of getting addicted to gambling at that cause.

Being alone, the player is not surrounded by people with whom he would like to spend time instead of playing. Of course, there are addicted players who play when their wife and child are in the next room and this is how their lives pass by, but this is completely wrong in my opinion. They don't appreciate what life has given them. There are also situations that are completely opposite, when, being alone, a player begins to play or do something useless because he does not have a family. In this case, this reason needs to be solved by meeting people, going to clubs with similar interests, and not justifying your losses.

I think there is not an absolute answer for this as it varies per person depending on their personalities as factors.

There are people who prefer to do things alone; but this fact does not mean that they are prone to gambling. On the other hand, there are people who prefer to do activities with others but they are the ones who are prone to do more gambling. It really varies depending on the factors involved as every person has their respective and unique personalities.

Be that as it may, there have been studies that people who are indeed alone are more prone to addiction given the lack of any interaction surrounding their environment. They are also more likely to suffer depression and addiction as they have no one to run to for comfort, etc.

At the end of the day, I think it is still better to surround yourself with people even if you are struggling in gambling addiction. Peers and family members are very powerful units that can pull you out of this hole and make your lives better.

I will not agree with people saying loneliness can lead to gambling addiction, gambling is just a choice you make and the urge to win more can turn a gambler to an addict.
On a serious note I find nothing interesting in gambling absolutely nothing, people just involve them self in the act just because of the money involved.
Loneliness is the state of being alone and at that state you definitely need someone around to talk to or play some fun games
Various ways one can fight against loneliness rather than involving in gambling that plays with emotions, if possible sign in for gym class, dancing class, basketball games, visiting the cinema etc.

Becoming a gambler is a choice any one can at any point make even without been bored or lonely but turning out a an addict is when you further drive your  urge to win, by continuously putting conscious efforts daily and continuously to make sure you get to win then you gradually breed addiction unknowingly and such can no longer be blamed on loneliness.

Their are other things to do to keep loneliness out of the picture just like you rightly stated so blaming loneliness on your gambling addiction is totally out of place. Greed is the main reason you will most likely turn out addicted gambling because it's possible you could be lucky a few times but because you want more since human needs are insatiable, you end up addicted, another scenerio is when you loose gambling probably because you wanted to stay out of loneliness then you satry chasing losses instead of stopping and doing something else.

I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

Later he open up to have been using $500 for gambling per day, he said all these started when his wife left him, that he isn't into gambling at all, but I can't ask why his wife left him in the first place, but does loneliness make people become addicted to gambling or it's something else.

The issue about loneliness make someone gamble more is of a fact and I have indeed experience this myself. We tend to do crazy and stupid things when we are void and have the thought of doing things to keep ourselves occupied. Gambling is one of those activities that keeps so many people occupied, especially when the session of gambling favours you, I mean you can go all out gambling morning to night just because you don't have nothing to do and because the gamble you are playing is occupying your mind.
