Using A Crypto Recovery Service

I Googled for a Crypto recovery service to get funds back from a crypto scam.

This is the email they sent me.

"Our forensic team has been set up and your case has been reviewed. All licenses required are being processed, and the premium tools required have been sourced.

We have completed the first stage of analysis, which is the website vulnerability analysis.

Our tests show webulltradingbot.com IP address ports, protocol information, scripts, hostnames, ISPs, ASNs, and so on. All this is enough to launch a zero-day exploit. We will run a deeper test to deduce the exploits required to get undetectable and full access into their database. Once we have access to the webulltradingbot.com servers database we will be able to know how the system was wired the assets rotated and how the funds were transferred. With all this information, we will know the right people to attack to get the funds back, as all our operations are precisely carried out.

This is all the information we can provide for now till we can proceed with the procedure above is successively done. All the processes highlighted above our goal will be to take back what has been stolen from you from the scammers and then we will neutralize their functioning assets. So far, they have access to the Internet they are not out of our reach. let us know how committed you are to this. All this will not come for free. We will need to use high-end licenses and malware for the processes in the right hands to achieve precision to get this done."

They said they take 10% of what they recover. I'll keep everyone up to date.

I have sent an email to the recovery service, inquiring about the expected duration of the recovery process.
They informed me that it would take several weeks for the funds to be recovered. After the recovery, they will keep 10% as their fee and send me the rest.

It took Bank of America 90 days to inform me that they were unable to recover the funds.

I wonder how they are able to recover the funds when Bank of America wasn't able to?

Banks are not associated with cryptocurrencies so banks can't do anything whether it is a scam or hack unless there is concrete evidence that proves crypto is converted into fiat and the banks can confiscate the stolen funds.

Crypto transactions are irreversible so the recovery service you are talking about doesn't looks to be a legit and keep that in mind if they ever ask to pay a fee upfront then it's safe to assume the recovery service itself is a scam. If not then there can't be any further damage can be done for you.

I did a wire transfer. of USD funds from my bank, Bank of America, to their bank, Chase Bank. Bank of America filled out all the fraud paperwork and sent it to Chase Bank. It was all in the hands of Chase Bank if they would send the funds back. The fraud specialist at Bank of America informed me that Chase Bank is pretty good at complying. However, I got the notice that they were unable to recover the funds.
I did ask a Chase Bank representative who the wire transfer account was but she wouldn't tell me.

According to the website I deposited the funds to, they will automatically convert it into BTC.

I did Google the company I'm using:
"We highly recommend ASCH Ltd for their integrity, professionalism, and remarkable results. ASCH Ltd has been instrumental in recovering our lost assets after a devastating cyber attack. Their expertise, professionalism, and relentless pursuit of our stolen funds were truly impressive."

They told me to never pay any money upfront for any reason. Once they recover the funds, they will take out 10% and return the rest to me.
So if they are a scam, how does the scam work? Do they actually recover the funds and then keep the entire loot?

Well I have been scammed before for my crypto and did not end well for me. I do not think there is a problem to try a recovery service.
But I will be worried they are going to keep more then the 10% they say. They can take all of it and there will be nothing you can do about that.

I understand what you are saying - that if they do recover the funds, they will keep all of it.

But I wonder how they recover the funds? Chase Bank wouldn't give me the identity of the account holder to whom the money was transferred.

I've been told that most scammers immediately withdraw the money into another account. Therefore even if Chase Bank tried to recover the funds, there is none there.

So this is about a crypto scam or entirely fiat?

As I said banks can't do anything if this is related to crypto and they just did what you authorized them probably a chance to recover if the money is deposited into a regulated platform.

Possibly, they can keep the entire amount but never heard of this service and never heard of any crypto recovery service dealing with funds related to scams.

He instructed me to perform a wire transfer of US dollars to www.webulltradingbot.com.
Once the USD funds were deposited into www.webulltradingbot.com, they would automatically convert the USD funds into BTC.
I realized that www.webulltradingbot.com was a scam website when I attempted to withdraw money, but the site demanded additional deposits before approving withdrawals.

I reported Eddie Moon to YouTube, but I never heard anything back.

So this is not a crypto scam and the service you are talking is not a crypto recovery service.

But the good thing is you transferred the fiat which is completely controlled by banks and now I can say that chances of recovering those funds is high and it may take longer than you expected but these things requires lot of legal procedures and time consuming as well.

Meanwhile, you can file a complaint against the individual who promoted and forced you to invest in the scam platform. If the person made you to invest then probably he is part of the scam website or highly paid to make people fall.

Most of the crypto recovery services are a scam. And even the legit one that many seemed to believe that they're genuine, fell down on its on and if you're going to use a service like this, it's unlikely that you will recover any fund that you may want to recover.

Scammers will also use this as a service offered to their potential victims.

 any update OP what happened now? I wish and hope that you are dealing with legit team here because if not, then your funds will forever be gone and you will never get anyothing from them.
sometimes scammers are looking to our vulnerability and weaknesses.
Am not saying there is scammer here but being careful will never hurt us.

I see, so they are just watching some communities and message random people that asks for the same service.

Yeah, like there's nothing to lose anymore on your end when you try to recover them. I do understand but some may just ask for some top up and payment in advance and that's how the scam goes on.

So, if you're not paying in advance and you're not paying anything on these services and consider the percentage cut that they'll get, just be aware of such.

Nope.  Scammers love crypto because when properly planned, it is untraceable and irreversible.  If one falls for a crypto scam, they are most likely to be scammed again.  A CRS takes advantage of this market.  

They will not do any work for you unless there is a chance for recovery (i.e. you have a password pattern you can give them) and it's large enough for them to bother.   If they manage to recover anything, they will vanish with your coins.

If you have an idea what the password could be, go with a service that requires a set fee upfront through a licensed payment processor.   However if you want to remain anonymous while recovering your coins, you probably lose more.
