@OP you are lucky that the person who received your Bitcoin is a kind-hearted person and you are able to know the owner of the address.  You should be more careful next time and double check the address before executing the transaction.  You are lucky this time but may not be on the second time.
To buttress the point already made, as long as you had sent the coins, you already gave up your control over its reversal. That is if you hadn't sent the coins and noticed that the wallet address was wrong, you could have easily deleted it and inputted the right address. The reason you got back your coins is because the recipient willingly sent it back. And you should count your self damn lucky.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Lol so I still don't know how it happen but somehow I sent some money to @rat03gopoh how I get his address copied to my clipboard I don't know but I was searched on Google for the address and come up with the holder then contacted him and hope to get it back, 😅  funny story

You were lucky in this incident as you were able to get your coins. If you would not have find him on the social media then for sure he would not have returned. Also he is a kind hearted person that listen to you and return your coins otherwise there was no legal obligation or anything as he could just block you and keep the money with him.

I will suggest you that instead of being happy about the money you got back, you should need to know why it happened that you copy the wrong address so that in future you do not repeat the same mistake. There can be number of reason for this and the one common factor which most of us not aware is that our computer maybe malware infected and when we copy the address it get replaced by any hackers address and our coins are send to the wrong person if we are not careful in rechecking the address that we have copied and pasted in the wallet to send.

That's a good luck by the way because if you send your coins to a wrong address so you can not recover them except that the receiver will send it back to you. So luckily you got them back so this is really good thing and also you got an experience that you always should double check the address where you are sending you amount. This will decrease your risk of complete funds loss.

My advice to the OP and all member, just checking the first and last characters of the address is not enough, some digits in the middle are also necessary and must be checked at least 3 times.
That's close, sometime I didn't check the middle digits, but I use CTRL+F to know if I didn't mistakenly copied the wrong address.

I don't know how much the amount is, but since @OP seems not familiar with this forum (for leaving feedback), I will leave a neutral tag on your profile because you've done a good deeds.

. OP previously had a tx output to a destination address that contained the first and last character digits that identical to mine (a rare coincidence).
As an illustration:
A1b2Cdfdruirj4grhg2urh5ggriorjf3D4e5F : belongs to OP
A1B2c1jijrj5ofmmf8jkfidk0mawq3d4E5F : mine

We have never done any business before, I'm wondering how my address ended up on his clipboard. As you can imagine, that it is really very deceptive for users who are used to rushing, it took me a few checks before I noticed the difference.

Very interesting to see that both address first and last characters are same and we often checking only these two before sending payments. This story makes me more cautious and now I will check full address before sending payments. OP is so luck that the sender address owned by reputed member otherwise lost was confirmed. OP can better gives reply that how he copied address but I think OP copied you Proof of Authentication or something where he copied your address too.

I sent two times fund to contract address instead of exchange address by mistake and lost forever. we should also double check our wallet, not only first and last. Hackers are also doing this track when they hack keyboard. you will be satisfied after confirming last characters but you should be smart here to save your fund.

In short, before I refunded it, I investigated OP's wallet txs. OP previously had a tx output to a destination address that contained the first and last character digits that identical to mine (a rare coincidence).
As an illustration:
A1b2Cdfdruirj4grhg2urh5ggriorjf3D4e5F : belongs to OP
A1B2c1jijrj5ofmmf8jkfidk0mawq3d4E5F : mine

That's an interesting fact. But I am still confused about how he copied your wallet address instead of his wallet. After reading your post, I guess  I always did it wrong. I always check the first and the last few characters to ensure where I am sending it. What is the odd of copying a similar address? No matter how low the chance is, a single transaction can cost me a thousand dollars.

Op was lucky that he sent the amount to you, and he was able to contact you within the forum. Almost 99% of Bitcoin address are anonymous and we don't know the owner of those addresses. So it's impossible to contact the owner to get the money back.

You are still lucky to send to the address of an active and trustworthy forum member. But why does it have the address rat03gopoh, you must have searched for it via that address. You were also quite careless because you didn't review the address where you were going to send the assets. If you send to an address that is not well known and perhaps someone else's address outside this forum, then you will no longer get your assets.

Interesting case on this one. That is really tricky when you just look at the beginning and ending of an address. Still unknown how your address ended on him because even if he randomized the middle characters it wont be identical as yours. I guess it is better to leave it as a mystery that someone might explain how it happened in the near future.

Firstly, you could say you are really lucky to get your coins back, this rarely happens. This is probably the first time I have read this.

Second, the sender is a very kind person. Imagine if he took advantage of the coins you sent and he acted indifferent to you. Of course you will lose these coins forever. But here, he's really nice enough to send the coins back to you. It's rare to find people like this in a digital world like this. It's more like you didn't know each other before, right?

The third is to make this a valuable lesson. Be more careful and thorough when you want to make deliveries or various other types of transactions. Because it's not certain that you will meet the same good person again.

Yep its funny someone returned the coins. Hard to believe I guess thats why you find it funny. You are lucky to have sent the coin to someone who has no intention of keeping it. If it's someone else, you'd be posting your rants already.  It is not every day a person receives some coins that they don't expect and for that, they will consider it sent by God.

You are right, because I think he wouldn't find it funny if actually the address he sent the coins to wasn't someone he can relate with or the person didn't want to send the coins because not all person has that humility to actually send back a coins that was accidentally sent to his wallet.

It's some confusing although how the whole mix up occured with the address finding it way to his keypad or clipboard but I would like to think maybe he copied the wrong address from someplace where the actual wallet he needed to send the coins was also there.

You got lucky that the recipient sent the money back but if you know how to use the fee bumping method, Replace By Fee, you can sort of "cancel" an unconfirmed transaction and have it sent to a different address instead.

Searched the address on Google and it came up with a user,,, just how did that happen?
What was the chain link to usage that brought about tying a user to an address?
Was it by the forum or through some other means?

Don’t mind my asking because I really want to know as, anonymity is one priced asset in the cryptospace and without that, we’ve just had one of the priced asset dilapidated which I don’t wish to believe would be the case.

Yes there are mixers to prevent this but then, how is the Google search engine coming up with the user! Perhaps the forum remains the only thing that links the user with the account.

That’s unbelievable. Honestly, if I ever made such a mistake (which I won’t  Undecided) and send Bitcoin to the wrong address, the best idea in my head will be to send a second transaction with a description pleading to send it back. I know it may not sound really effective but that’s just what I think. But yours is pretty unusual. I’ll like to know what you were hoping to find when you searched for the address on google? You are lucky and the user who sent them back to you has a heart of gold. Hopefully you don’t fall into this mistake again.
