Luck shined on you OP  that you know the owner of the wallet address by virtue of your findings. I think you are very much lucky and you be thankful that you received your coin back but you have to be careful next time so as not to make or repeat such mistake again because you just might not be lucky the second time if such mistake repeats itself.

It is very much advisable that one double check their wallet address before transacting so as not to make any mistake. Such as you making sure the wallet address corresponds with the receiver address so as to avoid transacting with the wrong address because most times virus of such nature might have invaded your gadgets without you knowing but crosschecking before transacting might put you and the know.

Lol so I still don't know how it happen but somehow I sent some money to @rat03gopoh how I get his address copied to my clipboard I don't know but I was searched on Google for the address and come up with the holder then contacted him and hope to get it back, 😅  funny story
Can't blame you finding it funny and probably in awe that you had your token returned in one piece after sending it to the wrong address, the world now has more bad eggs than good so when things like this happen we imagine it if it's a dream but no it's ain't a dream good people still exist and here's one in the forum that has proven it not just in words but in deeds by returning what he knows morally isn't his.

My advise is be careful case of next time you might not be lucky in this way and also not find it funny by the time you come to reality that your token is gone never to be returned.

There's no way that a transaction can be cancelled or it is irreversible meaning once you sent the coin then it will be sent and it cannot be undone. There's no way you can get it back unless the owner of the wallet address return the coin that you have mistakenly sent. There aren't lots of people who return what isn't theirs but there are some people who will return it to thr owner. Try checking your device as I think there's a malware in your device and that's why it happened. You better learn what is Clipboard hijacking and what will happen if your device have clipboard malware.

I'm not sure if it's clear under what context you experienced the error, but I imagine it was a transaction within some private community because it's impossible to randomly come across a known address.

Something similar happened to me when I tried to get an airdroped NFT and ended up signing a blind transaction for purching it. When I explained it to the seller, he refunded it me (If he had let me keep the NFT, he'd have been a fucking hero, but no, haha). It was about $250, which speaks volumes about the seller's honesty. In this case, it happened in Decentraland, where the NFT name linked to the wallet is widely used. It's about individuals aiming to establish a good name and reputation.

Transaction can be double spent, as long as it has not yet been confirmed.  Double spending can cancel the previous transaction that has not yet been confirmed since the person is sending the same Bitcoin to other address with a higher transaction fee to get confirmed first.  But I think this is way beyond the thread discussion.

@OP you are lucky that the person who received your Bitcoin is a kind-hearted person and you are able to know the owner of the address.  You should be more careful next time and double check the address before executing the transaction.  You are lucky this time but may not be on the second time.

I wouldn't say that you can double spend it rather I would say that it is like RBF where you replace the transaction with a new one although what your mean doesn't have parent where the child will pay for. I get what you mean about double spend which is to replace the previous transaction with a new one and doesn't the previous transaction will be replaced since it isn't possible to send the same crypto from your wallet going to two different wallets.

Yep its funny someone returned the coins. Hard to believe I guess thats why you find it funny. You are lucky to have sent the coin to someone who has no intention of keeping it. If it's someone else, you'd be posting your rants already.  It is not every day a person receives some coins that they don't expect and for that, they will consider it sent by God.

It isn't funny man anyone with a pure mindset who believes in hard work rather than stealing someone else's money will do that without any question. In the OP's case @rat03gopoh is that guy who proved that he's someone who believes in earning money via ethical and legal ways rather than stealing someone else money. It still won't be an act of stealing if he didn't sent the coins back to the OP but it would be rather ethically unacceptable and anyone with good morals would never do unethical things.

The ones with no moral may find that money sent by God even if they know that the money is someone else's money. A good person will not do that man and @rat03gopoh is the best example we can see right now. Something that you get for granted isn't worthy to keep until you don't earn it with effort.

Incredible fortune to get you BTC back. Always take the time to double check the address as you enter it, as others have mentioned BTC transactions are completely irreversible.

Hopefully the recipient of the coins will immediately return what is not his to you. Next time, you have to be more careful before you actually send it, first make sure the first and last letters are the same as your wallet address. This is a small mistake that most crypto asset holders often ignore, but this small mistake can become a big mistake when the coins are sent not to the intended address. Malware virus attacks could be infiltrated into your device that you never realize.
So always be careful before sending coins to another address, to prevent the same mistake from happening, always check before you press the send button.

I feel lucky that I found the owner of the address and he seems like good person and very reputable on this forum Smiley
Lucky you OP, you should be regretting by now assuming, you sent your coins to a dishonest person that wouldn't return it back. This is why you need to cross check the address which your want to send your coins to over and over again to avoid mistake of such that happened.

Scammers can also send malware to your clipboard and if you are the type that is not cautious with what your are doing online, you will fall victim for this. rat03gopoh is a good person with good reputation and that was why we are all saying that you are lucky. You would have learnt a hard lesson by now.

Still, the luck is on you, how does it happen that you made a copy of the address of rat03gopoh and pasted it to your address destination, did you commit already a transaction to him or just accidentally copy is address for some reason? and that address is still on your clipboard, if other people will receive those sure low chance of getting your asset back. Good to know he gave it back, make a double-check before proceeding with the address next time.

If I'm not mistaken, some time ago several members raised a topic related to scammers, the target of which was a copy-paste device that automatically changed the copied address to the scammer's address. and for several reasons like that, it would be better if you just scan the barcode directly to make the transaction. or if we make a transaction like the OP did, we have to double-check the address we pasted before we send it.

I don't know how the OP managed to connect to another member's address on the forum. he was quite lucky.

Unfortunately there is no way to cancel or rivers are transaction in Bitcoin. That is one of the biggest issues with Bitcoin.
Yes, you are right that Bitcoin transactions are irreversible; they cannot be reversed or canceled. The design of the transaction on the Bitcoin network is irreversible. This means that if you send the transaction and, after broadcasting it, verifying the miners, and completing it, you can neither reverse nor cancel the complete transaction without any reason. This is impossible, and even more impossible given the nature of Bitcoin.

But, sir, I have the right to disagree with you that irreversible transactions cannot be a misfortune of Bitcoin; rather, they are a virtue of Bitcoin. This is the reason why Bitcion is called decentralized. The second is that due to this irreversible transaction, Bitcoin eliminates the risk of chargebacks, and if Bitcoin did not have this quality, then the circumstance that is based on the decentralized standard would not fit in, but it would also be like normal centralized authorities. It would not be good.

It was a good idea to google the receiver address in the hope that it would be posted somewhere online.
You are considered one of the lucky few who were able to correct their mistakes by chance. Fortunately for you, the title belongs to one of the most honest members on the forum, and I am almost certain that it would be impossible for him to think for a moment about keeping it.
But at the same time, I was surprised how you stumbled upon that Bitcoin address, especially since your account is new and you are not an active member on the forum. Or are you using an alternative account?

But at the same time, I was surprised how you stumbled upon that Bitcoin address, especially since your account is new and you are not an active member on the forum. Or are you using an alternative account?
No surprises - you shouldn't assume all newbies are inexperienced users, you'll be fooled if you always think of it that way. OP may be a newbie - but I don't think he's a new user here. I checked the bitcoin address, of course I found that there were many transactions sent to different users whose addresses could be found on the forum. If you are interested in finding out more facts - check out the address.

I don't know how the OP managed to connect to another member's address on the forum. he was quite lucky.
He searched for the address on Google and it pointed out on the forum posted by ratgopoh.
He didn't know how it copied to clipboard and that's the mystery but still, he took it back because the receive is kind and with reputation.

how I get his address copied to my clipboard

You may have to reinstall back your PC using the clean OS because I guess, your PC has been injected clipboard virus and malware which may still settle on your PC.

I often hear that Clipboard Hijacker is a very dangerous virus which is changing cryptocurrency wallet addresses from those saved in users' clipboards to others owned by cybercriminals. I don't indict the owner's address, but when I read your original post, and you don't know where the address comes from, that possible it is something strange for me.

By suggesting this, you are indirectly accusing rat03gopoh of hacking Bitcoin. rat03gopoh is a forum member whose wallet address is known in the forum. There is no reason a forum member aware of scrappers will share the same address in some clipboard-hijacking software. I don't think some forum member could be that much dumb.

It could be an honest mistake of OP. Maybe he copied the Bitcoin wallet address from the forum somehow and then forgot it. But I also doubt that he did it by mistake. It's more like he did it intentionally, knowing the forum member with a reputation will likely return it, or I will destroy his account. Pretty simple math!

Since I ignoring the B&H board, I don't know if @OP brought up his experience inti this topic (I realized after checking OP's profile via Ninjatic tool, lol).
Firstly, our conversation was via PM forum (OP PMed me first and informed me of the mistakes), then I returned the funds. I won't publish any evidence here for OP's convenience and because this matter we consider to be resolved. If then the OP wants to publish that, I personally have no problem with it.
In short, before I refunded it, I investigated OP's wallet txs. OP previously had a tx output to a destination address that contained the first and last character digits that identical to mine (a rare coincidence).
As an illustration:
A1b2Cdfdruirj4grhg2urh5ggriorjf3D4e5F : belongs to OP
A1B2c1jijrj5ofmmf8jkfidk0mawq3d4E5F : mine

We have never done any business before, I'm wondering how my address ended up on his clipboard. As you can imagine, that it is really very deceptive for users who are used to rushing, it took me a few checks before I noticed the difference.
Actually, I'm still curious about the chronology on OP's side and what wallet app he's using, I'm just reluctant to ask after I know OP's wallet is somewhat active (I think OP is busy with his business, I don't want to bother him anymore). And one thing, OP rewarded me with a decent amount of $.
My advice to the OP and all member, just checking the first and last characters of the address is not enough, some digits in the middle are also necessary and must be checked at least 3 times.

true, especially when there is a scam called "wallet poisoning" going around, what the scammer does when they do "wallet poisoning" is they find addresses that have similar characters at the start of the address and at the end of the address to theirs, then they make a transaction with the targeted address with small amount of crypto, and then they wait for the target to make a mistake. people really need to be cautious.
