If I have a given MH/s how do I calculate the % chance of finding a BTC?

Thanks.

That link implies that the current rate is 98,245 hours per MH/s to generate 50 BTC.

uhhh. What?

That's gotta be completely inaccurate, Did you write down your Mhash/sec or did you convert it to KH/sec?

Probability Time
Average 18 days, 1 hour, 29 minutes
50% 12 days, 12 hours, 28 minutes
95% 54 days, 2 hours, 36 minutes
Thats what i get with 260MH/sec

I think it was a typo - 98245 hours, not 98,245 :)
98245 hours is 4093 days.

"X hours per MH/s" is the wrong way to measure average block generation time.  The average time per block is inversely proportional to your hashrate.  Your post suggests the opposite, which is incorrect.

Thanks to ye, we have the final piece.

No, he is correct. And you are saying exactly the same thing.

98,245hours/(xMH/s) = TimeToGenerate 50BTC (What he said)
is the same as
98,245hours * 1/(xMH/s) = TimeToGenerate 50BTC (What you said)

If your rig calculated 1MH/s, it would take 98,245hours to generate 50BTC.

Therefore, if your rig calculates at 100MH/s, it would take 982.45hours to generate 50BTC.

Edit: The way that he is saying it is expressing it such that if you were to spend 98,245hours processing, you would come out with 50BTC for each 1MH/s you could process.

Perhaps.  "98245 hours per MH/s" to me says that if you had 2MH/sec you would need 2*98245 hours to generate 50BTC.  (Of course, you would need 98245/2.)

A better way to express it using similar grammatical structure would have been "50 BTC per MH/s every 98,245 hours".  The "per" was in the wrong place.
