Well, I honestly will not give this kind of advice because it could be contradicting, contradicting in the sense that, different gamblers may see and understand it in different ways.
For example, one gambler may see and understand this exactly the same way you have explained it, he or she may draw him or herself back from gambling after he or she remembers that he or she has alot to do with money, just as you have said.
