For me gambling needs pure luck. Gambling is not based on optical illusion which we can do a trick and consider it as skill. Both is needed in order to maximize the chance of winning.  Luck is  important because if it is with us, we will be winning for sure.  While skill is also needed to give us more chance of success and even triggering our lucky streak.  Skill is really important in sports betting because having a great prediction skill from the gathered information will greatly enhance our chance of winning.

Neither luck nor skill are part of gambling. Luck does not exist, that lets just get that out of the way. And skill? Well perhaps in some cases skill could shift the probabilities in your favor but in the end, you cannot have a higher winning probability than the house.
