What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ? Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.
I think only 5-10% of Bitcoiners is doing gambling. Why? Because of the fact that we are here for investment and we want financial freedom. We cannot achieve financial freedom if we qre into serious gambling instead of using every penny for nothing we save it fo us to be able to buy in the next dip. Investors has different mindset than gamblers.
this is just a guesswork the percentage you're giving and doesn't in fact represent or from a reliable data. There many whales that are gamblers and has nothing to do with their investment portfolio's, they conspicuously want to have fun and be entertained with an activity that can also fetch them money.

It' is when you're an irresponsible gambler gambling compulsively that's when you are heading to a pitfall of not having money to save for investment but if you're a responsible gambler you can adequately draft your finances, demarcate and allocate each proportion into what it has been planned for. Being a gambler is not an excuse for not investing for the future.

I think their is no proper data base set up  to actually structure the correct stats that's behind the percentage of Bitcoin investor that actually gamble. But I believe alot of crypto users are not actually gamblers and I believe some of these investor can get influenced by all the ads and stories that are on going here in the community especially they these companies offer free gambling promo that non gamblers too can take part. I remember what my friend used to say about crypto users and gambling, he actually had the perception that are crypto users are gambler which is actually not the truth and also I believe not everyone that also advertise most gambling site are also gamblers.

I would say that 10-20% is a pretty accurate guess.  I know that bitcoin changed the gambling game for me entirely.  I use to use a buddy as my bookie until he decided to give it up.  I think didn't have any way to gamble as I didn't trust checks from overseas companies.  It somehow took me a little while to realize bitcoin was being utilized as a currency for gambling, and I jumped right back in.  Love the combo of gambling/bitcoin.

Would be hard to determine. Gamblers are simply gamblers and it has no correlation with Bitcoin investors. There are crypto investors who are into gambling as well, but there are still non-gamblers; let us just accept that. The only thing which links these two is risk management and risk taking characteristic. However, the risk with investments especially Bitcoin is way different with the risk in gambling. One reason is lack or pattern unlike with market price charts in crypto industry. In gambling, no matter how good your analysis is, if you’re unlucky then expect a negative outcome. Things are just different between these two.

What percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers ?  Where will this figure be if we consider worldwide users ? I think it will be somewhere between 10-20% ?
I want to imagine that this is a research and the question you have posed is your hypotheses. The next step is for you to carry out a metanalysis by visiting all the crypto forums where there are gamblers and taking a pool. After which you do your analysis and the accept or reject the 10 -20% which you hypothesized.

Quote
Also, it is possible that most of gamblers are still not bitcoin investors ? I see  less chances of the later happening.
If you gamble with bitcoin you are a bitcoin investor because you already invested in bitcoin an it is the balance from which you are taking out to gamble. Simple put you cannot gamble with bitcoin if you have not invested in it.

Its difficult to guarantee a definitive answer to your question. Even if you conduct a survey on this forum or any other platform, its not guaranteed that you will receive an accurate answer because some investors might prefer to keep their privacy and choose not to answer. We can make assumptions, but ultimately they may not be relevant.

Yeah, Exactly, and honestly, I don't think these surveys are needed. From what I've seen, there are a ton of crypto enthusiast who are more into gambling than investing. I'm even leaning towards thinking we've got more gamblers than actual investors. See, when people are all serious about investing, they usually have to throw in a big chunk of money to have a shot at a decent return. It's the opposite for gamblers, though—they toss in a little and hope for a huge payout.

Here's my guess: Out of the 100% who are investors, I figure only about 1% of them are real gamblers. And by real investors, I mean not those who bail on their investment the moment things start feeling too much like a wild gamble.

And that is where they are wrong, there is a reason why the rich will always get richer, there is a reason why investors will always have the best result,  all these requires money, I mean good amount of money, but just because you don't have the big amount for investment and gambling seem like the best solution is foolishness.

It's not easy to make money they say, and this word is so on point, this is nothing but the easy way out, if 100s of people decide to walk in this path of luck maybe only one or two will come out with good results, all the rest are going to lose their money.

Investors don't find it easy to invest, but they get used to it, they also need money but to get the best result they have to wait for years, those who don't have the money don't want to wait, it's not that they can't find the money, it takes not so much money to be a good investment, but many people just like the idea of quick result.

Most of the so called investors that has few money to start with investing are not so patient, so their approach would be aggressive even consider their type of investment like a gambling, you know, when it comes to investing in the crypto space, bitcoin nowadays aren't really bringing much profit unlike in the early stage, so they are looking for an alternative coins that is quite new to the market and hoping it will boom like x100 return but without realizing that the level of risk is very high, that's why it's comparable to gambling since both have higher risk of losing while despite there's a better side, you'll only enjoy if if you are are lucky enough.

Success does not measure through luck, it's more on how you handle your investment using your knowledge and skills and it will not happen overnight. Take that world "patience", and everything you do is considered as gambling.

Determining the percentage for this is actually hard, you won't get the right figures here as there's no stats yet for this.
He will only be concluding here without solid basis. Also, what's the significance of this figure?
If he does really want to estimate the percentage for this, as suggested above, he can make a poll/survey in bitcoin-related forums and start from there.

we will never be able to get 100% accurate data about this possibility (we cannot possibly survey them one by one because it would take several decades), however there are quite a lot of bitcoin investors who never use the bitcoin they own for gambling, they use altcoins for gambling because of fees and so on, I rarely use bitcoin for betting capital Me, I more often use Litecoin or Tron because the fees are quite cheap, while I keep the Bitcoin I have as my long-term investment.

Uhmmm, the digital currency has had its way into the current renaissance globally - that, infact has been a "problem" and also a solution to different other problems...
I think with that little analysis, coupled with the fact that we've got new peeps evangelised on a daily, I'd say that atleast 68% of gamblers are crypto base. All the same, I think others may have a different view to it.

We will not know something like this because in the end it is a condition that I think cannot be predicted because however to verify every person who gambles with all existing investors it will not be possible considering that most people still want anonymity and when gambling only a small percentage of sites have done KYC as one of the requirements so this will not be able to be used as a speculation with a percentage of what percentage of investors are gambling. But certainly in this case when gambling using Crypto as a gambling tool that is done then he is an investor but the scope is also still very broad because in the end even though bitcoin is the biggest chosen as a tool for gambling but not everyone also does the same because there are several altcoins that are choices.

I tried to find out if there had been any research on this, but I haven't found any results. Of course there are some Bitcoin investors who also gamble. Because gambling is an activity that is sometimes fun for some people and also provides good returns, especially these returns can be used for additional Bitcoin investment. Because as we know, there are many online casinos that use Bitcoin nowadays. So this will make gamblers even closer to Bitcoin. but as for the percentage, I'm not sure about that.

but that doesn't mean that Bitcoin investors are gamblers. Because there are many people who invest in Bitcoin as an asset that is worth it for long term holding. But on the other hand, they really hate gambling activities. Because remembering the negative impacts of gambling, especially if you are addicted. So this could be a problem and personal opinion. Basically,

There is no clear data to answer your question about the percentage of Bitcoin holders or bitcoin investors that are gamblers, but however, I think that the number should be above the 10% to 20% you said about, we should consider that more than 50% of Bitcoin investors are gamblers. This is because the crypto-currency market seems like gambling since the price of coins is not always determined except by speculations. This is a kind of gambling and that is why I believe that anyone that has the audacity to involve in cryptocurrency can still be a gambler. Cryptocurrency is the industry that wholeheartedly accepted gambling in all ramification. So they are just like birds of a feather. So, it is not difficult for anyone to begin gamble with their tokens when have excess of it.

In my opinion, the percentage of gamblers who are not bitcoin users is greater than that of bitcoin users. I don't know and can't predict the percentage of gamblers who are also bitcoin users because I haven't seen any surveys regarding this and maybe conducting a survey is also difficult because of the anonymous nature of bitcoin.

Do you think Bitcoin is still often associated with gambling so you question this?

Yes, determining the actual percentage will be difficult, but any speculative financial trade should be seen as gambling. Although bitcoin is been used for trading purposes but on the other hand, traders and investors still do this, carrying lots of risks in their bag. The only relationship between the possibility of traders who gamble is that it's closely possible for a crypto trader to gamble. I don't think any trader would see gambling as a wrong thing. So, bitcoin investors can as well be seen as gamblers because they don't actually know what the outcome of their investment would be. I'd say in the process of figuring out this in a survey. It'll be easier to begin with the number of gamblers who play using bitcoin across all online casinos. You'd notice that most of them are cryptocurrency investors who use a fraction of their investment to gamble. With the sole purpose of trying to quickly multiply their investment. In similarity, they shouldn't be any much difference in comparing the both online activities. In the sense that both doesn't have a specific reliable means of succeeding in the act. So, I can say that a very high percentage of bitcoin investors are gamblers. Not minding the kind of games they play. In addition, some traders of bitcoin still get addicted just like in gambling. While some still chase loss by trying different kinds of altcoins in the market to be able to regain more profits. Which lands most traders into bankruptcy. The similarities are crystal clear, that we may not need to take any further survey about bitcoin investors being gamblers. The probability is high. Talking about KYC a good number of crypto casinos now conduct it, to keep track of player's real life identity. It could also be a better means of getting an accurate result. Then the rest, that is those who do not gamble in platforms requiring kyc can be exaggerated, to get a perfect result.

I obviously think that there is no way the information will render any help to the gambling space or the Bitcoin space. That's why such research has not really been carried out. There is no data for the information; roughly, I think that there are more Bitcoin investors who are not gamblers, but most of the gamblers—a very significant number of gamblers—have gambled with Bitcoin. They might not actually be Bitcoin investors who hold Bitcoin for a long time for the sake of making a profit, but they could just be gamblers who prefer to deposit and withdraw their winnings in Bitcoin or cryptocurrency generally.

I have no idea what percentage it is, but I'm sure most crypto gamblers want to have a lot of Bitcoin or accumulate it in the future. This is the reason why they are here in the crypto space business industry.

Because everyone who enters the community bitcoin business industry knows all the opportunities just so that they can have Bitcoin in different ways. And there are others who are not yet capable of buying a large amount of bitcoin but hope to gamble in the crypto casino to get a big profit so that they can buy bitcoin in the future, in my opinion.

i won't guarantee such statement that most crypto gamblers would want to have btc stash as more then likely, they would spend it also with their games.
but learning the percentage of these gamblers won't give us anything. just give an idea that a lot of crypto users are also gamblers.  Grin
also, i believe a lot of crypto holders are also nongamblers as they would just want to take advantage of this opportunity to increase their crypto portfolio.

It's too hard to determine this information because not every Bitcoin investor is interested in gambling. Investing and gambling are two different activities that can be done without the need to experience both. One crypto user or the investor can focus on investing, the other can do gambling or both. It depends on the person that's why it will be too hard to say

For which particular purpose is this question raised? I mean, what's the relevance of this question?

Anyway, I haven't heard of such kind of data, but your guess might be right. It might be that low. Probably even lower. Before, that percentage could be higher because gambling was among the first use-cases of Bitcoin. During those times when Bitcoin wasn't really a popular investment option, it was already used by gamblers. Now that Bitcoin has been labeled as a new asset class, the number of non-gambler owners must be the huge majority.

I think there are many risk-takers among us Coiners. Otherwise we would be tremble over holding our fiat money, like the nocoiners peasants currently do. Tongue Roll Eyes

But in all seriousness, since we have so many risk takers here, they probably easily get into gambling without much marketing effort from the casinos side. If I was to guess a solid number, then probably around 30 % of us gamble, at the very least every now and then. You could perhaps derive the approximated number from the popularity of the gambling forum, but it is hard to tell, due to all the gambling spam from all the signature campaigns. They could be gambling fans posting, or just some people trying to make some money by posting. Who knows?
