Need some support for Nexus (NXS) thread transfer

Hey guys - Theymos asked me to post here. I’m currently trying to get our old thread transferred to me from 2014. I’m the creator of Nexus, as you can see I made the second post here. Unfortunately KryptoKash was helping in the early stages of the project so he is the OP:

He asked me to see what you guys think on transferring this thread to me. The reason being is it is our initial Nexus history, like the mailing list was for Bitcoin. It would be great to be able to keep the OP updated and keep this piece of our history in-tact. KryptoKash left the project in 2015 to pursue his own projects and seems to have made a bad name for himself…

In my own opinion, if you're the founder of Nexus then it should be transferred to you but you may or may not be able to manage it yourself because I believe it will been complex handling both the project itself and looking at what people think of it. So you should be getting any assistance from someone but where the problem may lie is being the OP you only have access to editing and rewriting the thread so even if you have an assistant he or she can't have access to your account to write and edit the thread.
So it all end with you still being the OP, therefore I suggest that you should hand the thread and/or be the OP of your Foundation.

Correct, the @OP didn't even moderate and discuss in his new thread, so I don't see any reason he need to ask theymos to transfer the old thread to him. If your reason is worried your project get moderated by scammer or anyone that has no relation with your project, anyone including myself can create a new thread about your project. So it will not prevent anyone to scam.

You only need to ask theymos or moderators to lock the old thread for you, have you report the thread? I'm going to report it now.

Unless moderators or admins make a special exception, there's no way to change authors of a post. What might be able to be done is for you to make a new thread with your OP, and maybe, the posts can be merged. The only issue with this is the integrity of the timestamp, and the inaccuracy of the timestamp:
- If posts are merged, OP timestamp will be after the merged posts.
- If OP timestamp is modified, there will be a problem with timestamp integrity.

I think that you'll need to either reach the OP, or just make a new thread.

There is nothing wrong with a new beginning and referencing the old the thread at the top/bottom of your new one, and referencing old posts if the same questions get asked.

It is possible for theymos to change the OP of a topic from SMF, he has access to the database anyway so it should be a trivial change. This would not be the first time such an ownership change happened either. I vaguely recall at least one Meta topic discussing that some other topic had its OP changed.

If theymos asked you to post here, it means he wants to gather the community's opinions, which is an excellent decision-making approach.

For quicker results, I suggest creating a poll. To do this, go to the bottom of this topic and find the link add poll.

Now, about KryptoKash's absence – he was last online on April 10, 2023, at 10:12:17 AM, which isn't too long ago. If KryptoKash responds here and agrees to transfer the topic to you, that would be ideal for theymos to decide.

However, if this option doesn't work for you, it seems you'll need to prove ownership of nexusearth.com (or nexusoft.io) for the community's satisfaction. I noticed your GitHub profile at https://github.com/VidereLicet with a similar name "Videlicet," but this alone doesn't confirm ownership of Nexusearth or Nexusnewsletter.

By the way, why is nexusearth.com redirecting to ethereum.org?

Since you say that Theymos asked you to do this and you also say that KryptoKash, the owner of the original thread, left the project and created a bad reputation for himself, it is certain that Theymos believes that this is the best for the benefit of the community, but he wants to take everyone’s opinion and perhaps it would be better if there was a poll.

Of course, Theymos can change the OP easily, but he clearly wants to see the community’s opinion on this point before he does so. It is clear that everyone welcomes the decision and there is no opposition to this opinion.

The old thread that KryptoKash opened has seen no traffic since 2020. The one you opened has some posts from 2023, but like I said, your last updates came in 2019. But if theymos doesn't mind and you can prove those projects and websites belong to you, why not. I just wonder what is it that you want to write there that you couldn't have done in your old thread that you abandoned in 2019?

Now that you make these very good points...it's possible that the OP just wants to capitalize on the past traffic, as it might give off some form or credibility to members.

My opinion, if meaning anything, is no.

If anything, the OP can create a new thread with all of the latest information, make a post explaining why there is a new thread on the old thread, and ask an admin/moderator to lock the old thread. This way when people visit the old OP, they can get to the new Ann easily from the last page.

Why change the OP of the first topic, instead of creating a new topic?

This topic has not had any new posts since August 30 2020, more than 3 years ago. After 300 pages of the topic, many images are broken, information is de-accounted, among other things. Recovering all of this can be hard work.

For you to be making this type of request, it is because you certainly want to present new things about the project and revive it in the Bitcointalk community. In this sense, I think it makes more sense for you to create a new topic, with all the new information about the project, making reference to the old topic. It was like version 2.0 of the project on the forum.

Remember, the topic will not disappear from the forum, so this historical element of the project will always be ensured.

If you have somehow verified that you're the founder, I think it's fine to "take over" the thread. I also see that OP's entire layout is very messy now (especially the images not loading).

I think, but I am not sure, that there was an OP change in our local Croatian board. Lauda was a moderator of the Croatian local many years ago. I think that a sticky thread that he/she started changed ownership to marlboroza. And now marlboroza is gone, so we are going to need another OP change.

We use nexus.io now, I own that domain. The OP hasn't been updated in many many years because KryptoKash tried to extort me to transfer it. He wanted a lot of money, nexusearth.com is our old domain we used, and again that was extorted by another member of the community that owned it (you guys know how crypto can be). When we didn't do what they wanted, they made it redirect to ethereum.org. Yes I am VidereLicet on Github, you can verify my commit history I've been developing this protocol for a long time. We made a new thread when KK tried to extort us, but the old thread still shows up on google as the one for Nexus. I'll go ahead and make a poll, happy to verify anything you guys need, I can make a record on nexus.io to prove I own that domain. You can see that is where our current website is.

Any other methods of verification please let me know, I've been around since 2014 and have developed a lot of serious technology to improve Bitcoin and the industry in general. It would be really nice to have our old thread back so I can keep this community up to date and keep a piece of our original history.

If you are the creator of Nexus or its head how come you do not own the domain nexusearth.com linked up to the project, the protocol is the head of the project should own the domain or there should be a reason not to.

You deserve to get the transfer unless one or some former members of the team dispute it claiming that they have a stake in the project.

I support this proposal based on my conclusions:

• checked out github account have been actively contributing since nov 2014 in the nexusoft repositories.
• the first reply on the old ANN was posted just 22 secs after the thread created, which means it was published in good coordination between the two of them.

And what keywords you've used for Nexus that make the old one appear more than the latest one I checked some and your thread appears to be on top.

I think it is the specific keyword "nexus bitcointalk", I tried it the old ANN was in the top results followed by the new ANN (2019) in 2nd.

The only way to keep history intact is by not editing it.
