What do you bet on when your league is in break?

This is something I've always been wondering about. Gamblers tend to have a league, be it basketball football or any famed sport, that they tend to love most. For instance in the USA American football and NBA betting tend to be very popular, while in south and south east Asia countries cricket is also very popular among other sports. So people tend to have a league in a certain sport that they know the most about, have a favorite team in, know the players etc.

So what's your experience with this. When your league is in break, do you tend to try to follow other leagues that you're familiar with, or will you gamble on anything really? I'm interested to hear what other people have to say in this matter.

For me personally, I try to limit my gambling to teams where I know at least some players, because otherwise it's easy to get carried away. Really in my opinion, gambling on leagues and sports that you know little to nothing about, only increases the edge against you.

Usually will find alternative sports which I am familiar with but if I don't like to bet on those sports because I don't really enjoy then will just gamble on slot games or plinko since this is I think more fun to participate compare betting on sports which is just your alternative and doesn't give you feel any excitement. If I'm really bored then will stop to gamble for few more days or even a month then wait for new season opener to come up since Its bad for a person to push theirselves to gamble especially if you really don't like what you are doing.

That's why bet only on the category you enjoy the most since it will give us huge self satisfaction compare when betting on sports or games that we don't actually like or for us we just take it as our past time games.

Aside from NBA and Football then i do have interest on Esports too on which if a certain team or player isnt present or really have those accident or issues then i do tend to skip on such betting.
I dont really force myself on creating one considering that there's no fun when you do make out bets on teams which you arent really that familiar with, not unless if you do really just
that make bets for the odds or simply trying to make some patch up then its your choice but for me then i wont really be liking this kind of approach because it does really
remove the real essence of gambling when you do force yourself on making bets on something which you didnt even know or interest you in.

This depends on each individual. And if a person really likes betting, then he will always bet on any type of sport, as long as someone challenges him.

I personally made that bet, just to add to the sensation and adrenaline when I watched my idol club. And of the various types of sports that OP mentioned, I prefer football. Apart from betting on gambling platforms, I also like betting live with friends to add to the excitement when watching the match. And I only make that bet, only when my favorite football team plays.

It is risky to bet on every game without having proper understanding about the teams. This is kind of risk, and better is to spend on the games we know well and have the ability to make better prediction about the outcome based on the team and the players involved. Betting live with friends is really fun, but those shouldn't be taken seriously. Sometimes the small amount changing hands between the two could be a problem when one losses for long and the other keeps gaining.

Some sports/events are very boring for that because only a few competitions take place during the month like Formula 1 or the year like the Oscars or even the decade for the elections. One time I read an article about someone who was only betting on Eurovision, as it was once a year he was obliged to take out loans and to mortgage his house to be able to generate sufficiently interesting winnings. Soccer is certainly the sport driving the bigger flow of betting money around the world so I don't understand why main european leagues don't spread matches across the whole week like american leagues instead of scheduling dozens matches at same time during week-ends.

I like betting, but I only bet on certain types of sports. And the sport that I quite like is football, but I also only bet when my favorite team plays. For the rest I bet on other football matches, that's only when I have free time to do match analysis. Meanwhile, if I'm busy working or doing other tasks, I don't bet at all. But when my favorite team plays, I always take the time to watch and bet, because it's part of my hobby and my enjoyment.

And I think that betting on other types of sports seems less interesting, such as cricket and NBA. And maybe I can think like that, because I don't have an interest in either type of sport.

I don't force myself to bet when leagues are on break but I think it's very common for players to at most has a 1 month break, the only time they rest from league is when they are injure, if they are not playing for the League, they should be playing national games. So, I think it's easy to make analysis on national games to bet your favorite team after carefully checking their historical performances and current form.

You can also switch to other like cricket and basketball, that's what many of bettors do and it's more easy to make money on basketball than football according to some analyst which I tried and comfirmed but as of recently, things are not really going well in that games. When you are about win something will just happened that will spoil everything even in die minutes which beg the question if basketball is a control game or not.

However, as I had stressed earlier, if major leagues go to break, kindly go to break too because trying to force bet will only force loss on you which will leave you with nothing but losses. But if you are that good in predictions, it's easy to navigate through nationals and enjoy your gambling.

Well to a point while reading and are reading this thread,  I have come to realize that,  even though when your favourite leagues are on break,  you also as a gambler should take the time off to have some rest off gambling too,  this way you come back more refreshed to face the New season because doing so will increase your chances of making the right game's decision at some point in time and also help you to lose the hold of addictions in any manner that penetrated your while gambling all through the season.

So while others may seem comfortable in migrating to other sports,  I think the most appropriate thing to do is to have a break for yourself and make sure to follow up only when the league resume back from the break.

As much as I want to bet, I am also taking a break when the sports I am into, is at the break. One reason is to avoid greed; engaging to different sports just for the sake of making a bet is greed in my opinion. I’d rather not get any profit on off season than to lose huge amount of money with frustrated bets. Here in South America football is king when comes to sports and sportbetting, most of people I have met who bet on sports only bet when some important cup is being disputed, obviously the period with the most activity is when our national team plays and when there is a world cup ongoing, that is also my case. When the football season starts to cool down and there are no important or very known leagues/cups being disputed soon, people just reduce their sportbetting activies or stop betting altogether until the next occasion they have some spare money to risk and they feel excited about an incoming match.

Since you already know how to limit your self, then why not level it up and bet only to the teams or players that you know the most? In the end it won't have a good impact, let alone profit, even though we know that there are many other hobbies that we can do. for example, a more positive activity just to rest the urge to gamble while the league is on break.

So, don't ever try to do something new, especially if you are new to it, so many people get carried away by the atmosphere which ends up making them experience new habits of betting on sports betting that they really don't understand, it's important to master more knowledge about sports. which we want to bet on because without knowledge, don't expect to win.

That's the part I do not completely understand, I mean if you are forcing yourself to gamble, then why are you even gambling? It suppose to be fun entertainment thing and nothing more. I do not get people who are chasing losses for example, you are not having fun and you are just trying to get that money back, but what was the initial thought process that you had which resulted with you trying to guess what you would end up with?

I mean it's gambling, of course the bigger chance is that you would end up with a loss, that was already known, why are you so shocked that you lost your money and chase it? Isn't the purpose that you are going to end up with something that would gain you some fun times? That should be the key point of gambling, if you are having this much emotional drama then you are gambling wrong. I have been gambling for many years, and yet I have lost that emotional drama part maybe a decade ago, now I only do it to have fun, if I am not having fun, I just stop.

I mostly bet on football specifically European club football. I despise international breaks and I don’t really like betting on them. By far I prefer club football.

When there is potential money to be made though, I will delve into international football but it’s nowhere near as enjoyable as regular European club football.

Usually there will be many friendlly games when the EU major leagues are on the break (soccer), and Asian major leagues usually still playing between June and August.

So there are still many options, we havent talk about the minor leagues or other sports from all over the world yet.

Soccer bet is the favourite for most bettor and other games are optional. So I can't remember if there is a time there is not soccer game to bet on even if the choicest league is on break. There are different leagues from LA Liga, premiership, Seria A,  Turkish league , bundesliga , America etc. All countries I believe have their leads so in absense of the favourite leagues you have other leagues that you can bet on. What could be the case is that you won't bet regularly until the favourite league resumes. That is the strategy that bettors I know too that have favourite league adopts.

When your league is in break, I think it is also a time for a fans and gamblers out there to have a break too. I don't think if it's fine to some but for me, If my league is in break, then I will let myself to have a financial break in betting /gambling and will focus myself to other important things. It depends to a person as well, Others may want to try other leagues but for me, No.

Personally I do love esports whenever I can't bet in UCL or any other European Competition because frankly I have no more desire to actually watch Premier League or Bundesliga or even LaLiga as I really don't like this modern football anymore. It is true that betting on a league which you dont know about, while your known league is in break, is a wrong move to take.

But an addicted gambler will be doing the first one - they will do something in order to break the boredom of doing nothing. Or they will go with the easier and more risky modes of gambling : EV- games.

I'm a gambler who tends to bet on football leagues, because this sport is very popular, I never find a break in this type of betting. Almost every day there is a match that I monitor for the purpose of betting, although sometimes I find there are no matches taking place (usually during the day). Back to the question, will I go to another league/sport when my league is on break? The answer is no, I usually look for entertainment by playing slots or live casino.

I was a fan of basketball the NBA and the local basketball league. In the case that they are on break, I would also be taking some break from betting but still, active on other sports. I do this because wasn't really familiar with the other sports teams, I don't make my bets a wild guess so better stop and have some fun with other sports stuff. I could really control myself from betting so it was not hard for me to pause for a while. Besides, the break doesn't take so long, and I still have time to prepare money for the next season.
