the face verification could have failed maybe due to not enough brightness as at the time and place you were doing the face verification process. What was the time if it's towards evening it usually gives difficulty in completely that very process.
The truth is with how the world has become we can't entirely escape centralized  entities. What we can only do is to minimize the length at which we make use of them mainly using them if it's necessary I'm a condition that there's no option.

But before going through it there are many ways, the first way is you can still see it on the exchange Binance itself, because on almost every exchange to creating an account some information has already been given there how to do?

Second you can also watch a YouTube video for that if you got some video which you can easily understand you can go with it even you can start it with the mobile number or email, that is your choice.

Mhann, there's only one way to verify an account on binance - create an account and follow the processes... You won't be allowed to trade or fund the account until the first verification is completed - it'll definitely include informations from your local bank and IDs... That's obviously a "KYC process" which you can't escape.
Aside that, they've made a particular video that pops up like an ad or something everytime you log in - in the video, you'll be shown your way around... It's more like a FAQs( in a video form)

Just be ready with your valid ID and a selfie. Enter your details and that's it.
It is no complicated process, it will just tell you the next step you need to accomplish.
As much as possible, be truthful with the details as if they will see inconsistency with your submitted ID, they may reject your application.
I even got verified using my laptop. So using desktop, laptop would not be a problem. But of course, using smartphone may be easier once you need to capture your selfie.

@OP you cannot verify your Binance account by searching youtube or google, you can find guide on how to make your Binance account verified but if you want to verify your Binance account you need to do it on Binance platform by going on their page for account verification.

You have to do KYC. Click on the top left corner after opening the app, and there you will see an option to verify the account by doing KYC. If you don't know what KYC is, then it stands for Know Your Customer, in which we have to provide our identification, which could be a passport, ID card, or driving licence of the country where you live.

After giving them the details, they will say your KYC request is under review; you have to wait, and if all goes well, within 24 hours, your KYC will be approved and your account will be verified too. But to be honest, I don't understand this behaviour of yours, which is why you said you don't want to do KYC by watching YouTube videos or from oogle.

And in my experience, you should know that in cryptocurrency, many people prefer their privacy more and avoid doing KYC, but if you don't care, then go on.

I will trust the official guide from Binance more than other guides. The verification process is smooth, that I agree with you, so if OP can not do his own research to find guides from Binance to verify his account, he did not do his homework well.

Homework is only a kind of saying, this one relates to an account, with money in it, so it's more serious than a simple homework. One poster said above, and I agree with too, if a user can not do simple thing like this, he will have bigger troubles with more complicated things and losing money is very possible.

Its not really difficult for verifying Binance exchange account, recommended you have upload all document need trough mobile phone because Binance required with selfie take picture live after uploading front and back of document ID. Regarding with my experienced, I use document ID and upload front and back of ID card, after both process have been success they ask with take picture as live and you can't upload it trough gallery with your mobile phone.

If you use Binance application, check first with profile and set up there with verify identity by uploading what document do you have, I think not only with ID card but also licence card is allowed for uploading. Take five minutes only for KYC process and you don't worry if you picture of ID card is clearly and good qualities will automatically approved.

There are information that one would be skeptical about but in this case Binance itself has educative articles and videos that show those that are new to the site how to properly navigate around and you have been provided with a link by @gladitorcomeback to Binance YouTube channel on the subject matter, which means you should have been able to complete it yourself if you had obey the previous advice you got about using google search and YouTube. Theres is nothing wrong in learning with the help of google and YouTube, beside from I guess that's not the only reason why you don't want to use those platforms, most of the information now can easily be given by the google or even other search engines and even youtube giving you the steps as guide how to verify your account procedural way, currently the Binance now are offering a tutorial to the new comers if they want to verify the account even the withdrawal there's a prompt message if you want to increase your withdrawal limit you must need to submit a KYC. Most likely you can see it out in the Profile of your account and just contents with the basic info, email, phone, and of course ID it depends on the level and perks.
