Most people especially kids have heard about Bitcoin or crypto currency without really knowing what it is about or how it works.recently I came across a particular video which I found online.it was an animated video giving a very brief and basic knowledge about the concept of Bitcoin. It talked about why Bitcoin was created, how Blockchain works ,as well as mining.I saw it as a good approach to teaching young ones or even newbies about Bitcoin.Without saying much here is a link to the video.

Teaching children about bitcoin may have its advantages but I'm also not too comfortable with that idea. Children should be allow to pick interest on their own and choose whether to learn about it or not. The video actually makes sense but it's passing a wrong message to children with that statement "you mentioned criminals twice" labeling government as criminals. Government has its lapses but giving children such impressions at their early age is not a good idea.

The part that caught my attention in the video is the inflation of Bitcoin. Bitcoin can actually not be inflated in the same way that traditional fiat currencies can be because Bitcoin has a fixed supply with a maximum of 21 million coins that can ever be created and once all 21 million coins have been created, no more will be created. The supply will not increase to meet that demand that would lead to inflation.

for now, I'll just teach my kid to purchase and how to make his wallet secure from compromise. nothing else to show yet because it seems like it could branch somewhere else instead of learning how BTC works. but i could also leave those for aantonop to explain. he is more entertaining to listen to than me.

l think that is a nice video and introduction of bitcoin, especially for the newbies. Although the knowledge of bitcoin is very vital to everyone, children of very low age may  not require to know everything pertaining to bitcoin.  we actually have to know what exactly that we are teaching them and their age to avoid corruption or malpractices at such tender age. .

Many videos like that are existing on the web about introduction to Bitcoin, the basics of it and the tutorials that are simplified and more interesting through animation.
I have watched a few of them and the ones with greater visuals are the ones that catches the attention of the many.
But the more we have like these videos, the better for everyone's reference and resource to know more about Bitcoin.

Why do we even teach kids about Bitcoin at the tender age? I don't think this would be a smart move as it would literally divert their mind because it will make them a rebel against the fiat system which. I think this should be taught at higher secondary level education or during graduation. I would say kids mindset might be more aligned towards bitcoin and crypto if we teach them about it and they will not be interested in the fiat system which is equally important in order to sustain.

Rather, we should be teaching them about more real life skills and technical skills to be a successful person.

Now days we don't even need to teach children much of a thing again regarding bitcoin as educational materials have been made readily available on the internet, which they can just run into.

Using their iPad and browsing the internet saves parents stress, and if the children find the information useful, they can walk up to their parent, their older siblings, or anyone close to them to ask for more knowledge and explanation. That way, it will be easier for one to know where they will focus their efforts explaining to them.

As much as this doesn't sound good, but I do agree here. Yes, definitely we can teach our kids about bitcoin or crypto or how to save and invest in general. But at a tender age, let they enjoy their life to the fullest. Who knows, maybe what you instil in their mind will come into fruition someday. But for me, I let my kids know about bitcoin, but not forcing them to learn about it. I want them to grow and set their own goals in life, just saying.

If they decided in their own to go in crypto then good I can mentor them. But if not and they want to purse their own dreams and jobs and what kind of education they want, they I will still support them.

Before a person can really appreciate Bitcoin, he has to understand how the traditional system works, he has to know that the system is built not to favor him. In other words, he has to understand the money system and know why it's good for him to look for an alternative. The person has to understand the limitations of the traditional money system and how Bitcoin solves most of those limitations and sadly, I don't think kids can understand these. Even a lot of adults in Bitcoin don't understand this and that is why Bitcoin is underutilized to an extent.
Most people only care about the investment side of Bitcoin and that's not the only too good to be true feature of Bitcoin.

Actually the cartoon was quite interesting due to the fact that it still had some humor and funny parts. Teaching kids about Bitcoin is not a bad idea but they simply should not be forced to learn about it.

I agree, I don't know what age the OP is talking about children but if he was talking about children under 10 I would object too. I am the one with 2 children and I personally witnessed raising them and watching them grow up day by day. Therefore, I feel that teaching bitcoin to children at this age is a waste and useless thing. Let them have a beautiful childhood, don't force or force them to do things they don't like. Bitcoin is just money, an investment, they can learn at any time when they grow up. To become rich, it is not necessary to invest in bitcoin early, and those who do not invest in bitcoin do not necessarily become poor.

The regular information about bitcoin is too complex for some people to handle so it is important that the information is broken down into simple knowledge for some people to be able to comprehend, this video helps with that. What age of kids are you talking about, dude? Do you think kids will immediately understand blockchain and mining in this industry field? You make me laugh, no offense. If those adults are having a hard time understanding them because they don't get the hang of it right away, how about the kids? The majority of what they want to do is enjoy the life of being children or teenagers.

Do you think that in one night or just a moment, someone will immediately understand this? No one enrolled today in grade 1, then tomorrow in grade 2 immediately. You should have detailed the simple steps for the kids to understand this blockchain and mining, not what you just said here in just one paragraph.

It does not seem to me there is any harm in teaching kids valuable economic lessons at such an early age, we know very well most people will have to work 30 to 40 years before they retire, if they have any chance to retire at all, so teaching good habits regarding their finances at such an early age is a good thing in my mind.

This way when they grow up they will be able to take better decisions than their peers, begin to save, invest and obtain better results for themselves and their family.

And most adult people also don't know how their money works. They're blind as to its system and even its whims and abuses. All they know is that it is the currency because of fiat or government order and that they're spending time, energy, creativity, their entire life for its sake. All the while, it is continuously devalued by the very institution which gave the order.

I think children and everybody else should also be enlightened about the real deal of money. Bitcoin would be more attractive if presented right after.

Nowadays in my country younger and younger have learning about  E-Wallets meaning that this
 adds even Bitcoin though literally many parents have not presented this to their children but at least we can see that in
very sooner time that they will developed knowledge and eagerness to also have their own , there is a popular E-wallet
 here that can also be used by younger age as long as there is a parent consent so it will be in the next line that they
 will learn and use Bitcoin.

What I also wanted to say that with our help as seniors to let everyone knows about bitcoin ,

Yeah labeling government as criminals in the video is a good example that explains why I said let children be children because the impression or elusion that will be created in their immature minds will diffuse to seeing the government as something else.
I have seen videos of where children are interviewed by Steve Harvey on the different things but the fact is everything that has been said in this interviews are all about skills or little experiences in education and other stuffs but not in any way about how to make and save money nor how to use finance neither invest or paradigm shifts like Bitcoin. Yeah it quite unfortunate how some parents try to use their children to achieve the dreams they failed to fulfill, if you couldn't make it to be among the first people to invest and profit from Bitcoin does not mean you should in any way impose them on your children by teaching them Bitcoin and Blockchain technology knowledge at tender ages just to justify yourself that they also will be among the first and sharpest kids to know technology.

When OP said children or kids there about according National Institutes of Health (NIH) the hierarchy of range from Children (1 year through 12 years) Adolescents (13 years through 17 years. They may also be referred to as teenagers depending on the context.) Adults (18 years or older) so the age that is classified as children here can't even think of anything other than play, eat and sleep. lol that shows it quite irrelevant to teach so cumbersome knowledge.

it's a good idea to introduce bitcoin to children, but at a very young age it's better to teach them lessons that are more important to them such as mathematics, science, etc. because even if they watch the video, maybe they won't understand anything that is discussed in the video.

maybe when they enter junior high school we can introduce bitcoin to them because at this age they already understand more about the financial system and it is easier for them to learn bitcoin. we can let them learn about bitcoin and how they think about the decentralized financial system offered by bitcoin.

As a person who loves watching anime and cartoons, I totally love the concept.

Don't get me wrong. I watched the reel, and TBH, it wasn't intended only for those children out there. It can also be watched by those teenagers out there who have little to no idea about Bitcoin. It can also be watched by those adults who want to learn Bitcoin. I mean it's for everyone.

I only watched the reel, which shows the basics of Bitcoin and I would say that it's informative. I don't like the fact that OP specified the kids where in fact he can say "Most people", but nevertheless, it's a big help for those newbies out there regardless of age... I guess.

It's refreshing to watch educational content that simplifies complex topics like Bitcoin and blockchain.
For my part, perhaps I'll just let my future children and nephews/nieces discover things about it, just like how fate led me here. My nephews/nieces are still young, so they don't know much about the financial aspect yet. If ever they find out about what I do in the crypto industry and if they become interested, like asking questions, I wouldn't hesitate to share what I know to the best of my knowledge. They already have cell phones, but they only use them for watching cartoons on YouTube and Netflix. Kids nowadays are really different; they're exposed to gadgets, and they easily adapt to new technologies, so maybe they're not that difficult to teach. But, of course, it still depends on their level of understanding.

Cartoon/animated films are very synonymous with children, of course this is a bit wrong, I think people from all walks of life will like animated films. Animated films sometimes contain a lot of educational value for anyone who sees them, even if some don't. I have also seen this video last month on Instagram. The way it was explained is clear and easily understood not only for the kids but also for adults who know nothing about Bitcoin. It's a good way to educate the basics to at least remove the doubts they have because some people still think of it as a tool for illegal activity.

The video can be used if there's someone you know asking about Bitcoin, this way, anyone doesn't even need to explain repeatedly or advice to do some research. Using this video on Instagram will explain the basics and if they get interested, they can handle the rest of the research with a basic understanding.

It does look fun watching that cartoon, but would kids under 10 really grasp concepts like computers, money, economics, and such? It seems like material more geared towards adults, just packaged in a cartoon format. While the explanation is easy to understand, it doesn't guarantee that all kids, especially those not interested in IT, would delve deeper into it.

It's not a bad idea, but as of now, I wouldn't force this onto kids under 10. Perhaps when they're around 13, it might be more suitable. Not pushing... but just paving the way for them if they're genuinely interested in learning about Bitcoin technology and blockchain. I'd be there to help.

The concept is quite good, animated videos are really liked by children, they will understand more quickly about Bitcoin through simplified tutorials through animated videos. The knowledge they gain from the tutorials explained in the video can speed up the learning process when they are ready to learn all the knowledge about Bitcoin.

At this age, let them do whatever they want, inserting animated videos into their daily lives will also speed up the learning process for them. Of course they won't harm the children, but they also have no effect, it's just a waste of time for us and them. At school age, tuition, living expenses, and every meal still depend on your family, what did you think and do at that age? Why do you have the thought of forcing children who are still in their playful age to learn things that are not necessary for them?

Have you ever thought why the education sector doesn't teach university and high school programs to elementary and middle school students? Financial education and introducing bitcoin investment is something we should do with our children, but we need to wait for them to mature at the appropriate age.

With so many animated videos like that, young people can be attracted to learn more about Bitcoin. If it interests them, they will definitely look for more information. They are young people with a high curiosity about something and will try to find out more about Bitcoin.

Of course, they still need to be accompanied by an adult so they can explain what they don't understand. And I saw that on YouTube, there are many basic video tutorials about Bitcoin. It is a great step to spread knowledge about Bitcoin to young people.

But we should not force them to watch the video if they are not interested. Let them search first while we accompany them. Maybe we can set the video so that there is curiosity about the video.

But you know, most people, like around 90%, probably did not stick around for the entire video.
 I have noticed a bunch of people who have no clue about economics, stocks, taxes, and all that.
It just seems like some folks are not curious enough to dive into new stuff and learn about it.

Teaching Bitcoin to kids would be actually an advantage for them, but not all kids at a young age comprehend and understand complex things. It's not really advisable and recommendable to apply the knowledge of Bitcoin at an early age since in the crypto industry it is not just a simple game as you involved money for profit and losses. Plus as a parent, they should know that if their kids are really interested or not, they shouldn't be forced to understand things that are really complicated for them to understand. I think the proper age for them is when they are already 18 because I think that's the age they would feel like an adult and have their own decision in their life. This short animated video is good. The person who had the idea of making this short animated video realized that he wanted the advantages of Bitcoin to be known to all groups. It's because they keep wanting to make the children interested in bitcoin, which is a complex thing for their young minds. I get it; they are teaching a good thing to their child or to a young age, but that doesn't mean they have to absorb it. Remember, young people tend to forget what they watch or can easily be distracted and ignore certain things as they tend to explore and be curious. Yes, maybe some children might show an interest in bitcoin or crypto currency, but there are only a few; they are the exceptional children. I hope this age of bitcoin or crypto currency is a trend. I bet you that people won't waste time searching for things they need to know but will instead create a new topic and ask questions because it will be faster and they can directly participate in the discussion . But what I see is that OP still hasn't responded to everyone's opinions on his topic  . It's already existed before about a thread that is actually almost the same in terms of context and maybe it would be great if you add another existing source that provides the source because what I see is only a clip of the meta but the full version is actually more interesting and most importantly in this case I think it is not only useful for children but it is also very useful for those beginners with a simple and easy to understand discussion.

Most of the time, these users that post this don't do the due diligence of searching for similar topics because they want to contribute something even though they know that the answer is already obvious and they want the engagement and there's the chance that they can get a merit for the same topic. I don't think that's going to happen, a lot of spammers are on the forum so I don't know how the management in the forum would be able to deal. Even before watching the video, I thought about this animation. It's actually a clip from a full episode of a kids' show, and that whole episode is about Bitcoin. That episode that already linked in the thread, and I remember watching is a few months ago. I liked it as a whole because it's not just a very decent story about Bitcoin, but it has some jokes, both for kids and for adults. I think it's aimed at fairly young kids, and I can see that some people in the thread are voicing their doubts about the reasonability of doing that. Sure, kids might not get everything, but they'll get a basic understanding of fiat vs cryptos, and of Bitcoin mining. It's still a great basis, and they can learn more in the future.

This is the right education because children are used to watching videos for any introduction compared to reading comics or other materials provided. Of course the video won't have a big impact on them, but at least they can recognize the logo as a basis for them to remember about Bitcoin and animated videos are usually preferred by children. But when it comes to young people who are adults, I think animated videos like that will not be interesting because they no longer watch videos like that when they are older.

For me, the video wasn't only to educate kids, but also to teach those new to Bitcoin like the Average Joe the basic understanding of how Bitcoin system works. For someone with little or no Knowledge about Bitcoin, just a gasps of the major points from this video, he will be able to start his journey into the Bitcoin world. The animation video was informative and also interesting of which I enjoyed watching.

It seems hard for me to find the post link but just to clear things out, this video does make sense but still, it will not clear all the doubts of a newbie like the architecture of the BTC blockchain and how a block connected with each other, why we can't hack or modify the previous blocks, etc. type question is advanced questions.

Actually, if we look at the video, it is quite interesting, it is presented with cartoons which will definitely be more interesting for kids to watch. However, judging from its contents, this is quite difficult for kids to understand. Indeed, in the video it seems as if children can understand it, but in reality, if it were a child, then I'm not sure I would be that focused on a long and heavy explanation about Bitcoin. Unless it's a teenager, perhaps children's tendency is to play and whatever they see is for entertainment. I agree with your opinion not to involve children who still have the obligation to learn what they want and when they are around 20 years old just give them an understanding of Bitcoin so that they will easily be able to understand so they can use it and can also make investments. Teaching children about bitcoin may have its advantages but I'm also not too comfortable with that idea. Children should be allow to pick interest on their own and choose whether to learn about it or not. The video actually makes sense but it's passing a wrong message to children with that statement "you mentioned criminals twice" labeling government as criminals. Government has its lapses but giving children such impressions at their early age is not a good idea.

We can even see this behavior in our own children at home, how they spend their internet quota every month watching animated videos although most children don't watch bitcoin animated videos specifically. If content creators understand the desires of young children, perhaps they can make animated videos about Bitcoin as interesting as possible and will slowly make young children interested in watching them. This can also provide benefits for content creators because the more viewers there are, the greater the profits they will get from the videos they upload on their YouTube channels.

I have several times seen children watching videos about cryptocurrency though they are not specifically about bitcoin. When I tried to search the YouTube history of what they watched, I was quite surprised by the videos they watched over and over again. Just as you’ve highlighted you need to have good understanding of the crypto market before doing anything. Bitcoin is very important for people of all walks of life especially in countries where Bitcoin is officially legalized, it is easy to spread the knowledge of Bitcoin among all classes of citizens and there are no legal hassles. I acknowledge the fact that no knowledge is a waste but bordering kids with Bitcoin knowledge is completely irrelevant, at some age let children be children teaching them about bitcoin could be beneficial at some point but where they can't put this knowledge use for the time being then it should be set aside till when it is due.

I agree, I don't know what age the OP is talking about children but if he was talking about children under 10 I would object too. I am the one with 2 children and I personally witnessed raising them and watching them grow up day by day. Therefore, I feel that teaching bitcoin to children at this age is a waste and useless thing. Let them have a beautiful childhood, don't force or force them to do things they don't like. Bitcoin is just money, an investment, they can learn at any time when they grow up. When I came to know about the new Bitcoin, but I did not get the idea about Bitcoin through any animation related to Bitcoin, but I got interested in Bitcoin after seeing a report about Bitcoin by a news channel in our country. When I first came to know about Bitcoin I opened up a lot about Bitcoin and it took a lot of effort to get here. While dabbling with Bitcoin I found the Bitcoin Talk forum and came here to slowly learn about all things Bitcoin and I succeeded. My point is that people who are interested in Bitcoin can learn about Bitcoin anyway and they don't need any specific animation or other promotion to know about it. Personally, I have a little difference of opinion on this matter. I don't think this kind of move is good for teaching kids about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is not yet legalized in many countries so it is important to consider the legal and ethical implications of involving children in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency related activities. I think there should be a certain age limit for learning Bitcoin. So, regarding my last sentence, it is straightforward and self explanatory. Many people venture into different things/fields but never completely understanding about how it works. Good example is the bank where we’ve all deposited money before. Not everyone understands how the banks work, not everyone knows how the subtraction is done in one account and the same instance, an addition happens in a different account of a different bank. Same thing here in crypto; there are people who know what Bitcoin is, they have traded it like they have transacted with fiat but do not understand how exactly this digital money moves.

Kids are highly fascinated with animated videos and they learn easier and faster if what they're also seeing are of their high interest. But we all know that bitcoin is a broad topic, and even if you say this is a good strategy for kids to easily grasp the idea of bitcoin, but haven't you realized that bitcoin is not actually for kids but for young adults and higher who are matured enough to understand the core of bitcoin. Still, even if they become fascinated with this video, we can't expect from them that really get the main point of bitcoin.

I'm hoping that visual learning will be more recognized in schools and organizations to aid people like myself.
  Visual memories are the strongest ones. So, when you read or learn something, try and visualize those things. Here’s an example: You are more likely to remember directions to a destination if you have been there before rather than just the verbal directions or if you know the nook and corners of the place like the back of your hand.
