But it does not matter if its 9 years earlier or 9 years later. He should get the money, and in case of getting it later he is getting 6% interest per annum, but he should also have gotten money for even having to endure almost an entire decade of having to battle needlessly. I am sure that he wasted a lot of money on lawyers and a lot of personal time that could have been spent, making money or doing other things.

Gambling businesses should be held to a higher standard and given much harsher punishments.

This surely is a life-changing experience and case. When someone knows they have solid proof about something and their confidence about winning the case is certain without feeling intimidated, consistency is always the key. If the person has given up over the years, it could have been another added fund to the Lotto company.

Yeah that's true a win-win for him, even it takes that long but still he can enjoy that winning amount, he can use the money to start a business or to invest to try growing his savings, whatever the plan for me it's really great outcome for him, taking the case to the higher court and getting the favor is something that unusual especially that the opposing entity is one of the government own entity.

It will be extremely difficult to win a lawsuit against a casino, because the financial capabilities of the casino are much better, and accordingly they can afford the best lawyers.

But on the other hand, casinos record every step and if the truth is on the player’s side, then this evidence can become decisive for the player if the court works honestly.

It would be good if this player could get his winnings, especially if he returns from abroad every time to attend court hearings, this shows how important it is for him to get this winnings and win the case.

Firstly, I will like to commend his doggedness in the fight for his right, the whole challenges he had to put up with just to have what legally belongs to him and not to be docile.

But I must also state the risk involved, this is not to say that he would have forgone his supposed win but he made it through the "eye of the needle".

What if the company had declared bankrupcy amidst the legal battles  and folded, how on earth will he have recovered from the expenses incurred in the process of the legal proceedings?
How will he have apologised to his daughter for fighting what seemed like a lost cause.
Lastly, considering the cost acrued during the legal battle, whats the profit ratio (although I know the cost of living in philipine isn't as expensive as the US)?

True that. In such cases, the judge announces that the opposition party has to pay the compensation for the harassment the victim had to go through.
So if that was provided then the fees for the lawyer and other expenses would be covered in the compensation.
