Group phase of this season of SA20 is now complete, and we are into the knockout phase now. Hapless Durban's Super Giants ended up with just 2 wins from their 10 matches, and for next year we can expect some strong reactions from the team management. This team is owned by the RPSG Group (Sanjiv Goenka). There is a good chance that the captain Keshav Maharaj may lose his job, although his own individual performance was really good. Paarl Royals won the toss and they decided to bowl first, that was a good decision according to the pitch but those Mumbai Indians proved it was wrong. The pitch was grassy that often provides the advantage to the fast bowlers. And Paarl didn't have a good bowling attack.
In the start Mumbai Indians were equally good, little bit partnership between Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen. After the first wicket down the next player, Dewald Brevis also scored fifty, the top-order performance deserves millions of appreciation. However, the middle order did not put much effort but at the end of the day they achieved a win.

But when I saw Delano Potgieter was the player of the match, I did not like it because there were other players in the team who made more runs as compared to Potgieter.

Yes, I agree, and also to play in the starting overs was hard for top-order batsmen because the pitch was grassy and until Delano Potgieter came to bat the pitch had been very much converted to normal condition.

Faf du Plessis will captain the Super Kings, while for the Sunrisers the skipper will be Aiden Markram. Faf has been in great form so far, and just a few days back he scored 87 against the Royals. All that said, one thing you might have noticed is the dominance of IPL franchises. In SA20, it is more evident when compared to the other teams. All the 6 teams are being owned by IPL franchises. And they are expanding quite rapidly. Most of the Hundred teams were also recently brought by these guys. Only exception was London Spirit, which went to the consortium headed by Nikesh Arora.

Yesterday there was the Qualifier 1 of the South Africa 20 league. It was set to play between Mumbai Indians and Paarl Royals. I was so excited for this game from the start because this time too I wanted to see MI Cape Town as the winner just like the previous season.

Today Sunrisers Eastern Cape will play the Eliminator match against Joburg Super Kings. The team losing will be eliminated from the series while the winner will play the qualifier 2 match against Paarl Royals. MI Cape Town have already reached the finals.

The first innings of Desert Vipers has been finished, it is the first Qualifier round for the final. Desert Vipers were badly missing Fakhar Zaman as he has returned to Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy but Muhammad Amir is there as well as Alex Hales, could balance the game. However, Desert Vipers batting has been finished and they gave the target of 189, It is good that even without Fakhar Zaman they made a big total because Alex Hales and other batsmen did not disappoint in this important game, hopefully we will see Desert Vipers playing final.

Khulna Tigers performed strongly in the eliminator match by making the right decisions and they won that match, but they could not perform as strongly in the second qualifier match.

Khulna Tigers suffered a batting disaster in today's thrilling match, in particular we saw that their team's top-order batsmen suffered the most batting disasters. Alex Ross had the worst performance in this match for Khulna Tigers, he played very recklessly today, which is why he didn't score any runs. This match is going to be quite intense as both the team play hard and play well which will give us an enjoyable finish.  A good effort from SEC as their batsmen have lost less wickets and scored more runs.  Their batsmen have score 138 runs in 17 overs who can play well in the next over and make a target above 160 which will become very difficult for JSK. If JSK bowlers had play hard and well they could have got an easier target but they couldn't do it either way. They still have a chance to play well and stop the run and win the match. In this match I hope that SEC will win this match as it shows more effort and hard work from their side.Also they can lose if their bowler play poorly.

Austria worked very hard to win matches and they have won. Malta set a record total runs for 168 and lost the match. Austria chased a record total runs for 170 and won the match. The 5th match between Malta and Austia team was played at Marsa Sports Club The best batting performance in the Austria team was by Mark Simpson-Parker  scored 63 runs and 26 balls hitting 6 fours and 3 sixs. Khuzaima Bin Tanvir scored 15 runs and was not out. Desert vipers ended the innings with a score of 189 by 7 wickets. Dubai Capitals had Adam Rossington and Shai Hope as openers and they had partnership of 61 runs. Gulbadin Naib showed an outstanding performance in this match with a score of 62. Sam Billings scored 38 runs. Rovman Powell scored 20 runs. Dasun Shanaka and Sikandar Raza were not out till the last over. Dubai Capitals chased the runs to 193 with a loss of 5 wickets. Gulbadin Naib scored highest runs and made his team to win this t20 game.

After winning the eliminator match, Sunrisers Eastern Cape also beat Paarl Royals in the Qualifier 2 match and reaches the final. I was shocked to see this result as we already know that Paarl Royals were the 2nd best team and they failed to qualify for the finals. Now Sunrisers Eastern Cape will play MI Cape Town in the final tomorrow.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape had a big win in this Qualifier 2 match. They beat the opposition by 8 wickets. Their top order is in good form and if they continue this batting form, they may give hard time to MI Cape Town in finals. Tony de Zorzi 78 runs at the top set the tone for this match.

Throughout the tournament Paarl Royals felt to be the strongest contenders for the final, but lo and behold despite they getting two chances to reach the final, they couldn't do so while SEC had slow start as they had lost 3 matches in row in start but they caught up well in the end — reaching the finale, is the third trophy coming for them? 3 seasons and 3rd trophy, that'll be quite a dominance.

Just remember that Sharjah Warriorz has beaten the in-form MI Emirates in the Eliminator match and they are favorite for today's match too. They have started well after being put into bat by Vipers. They've lost three wickets but have scored a decent 70+ runs in 10 overs. I do not say that this is a match winning score but at least they have set the platform and now its rest of the batsmen to utilize this launchpad.
