Although the possibility was already hinted at a very early point in Bitcoin's existence, it was probably more of imaginary that each coin would reach as high as $69,000. Possible but highly improbable. To look forward to Bitcoin reaching $50,000 was certainly a far-fetched idea at those early moments. If you've got thousands of them for next to nothing and the price rose to $2, would you rather grab the opportunity to sell it or you'd risk keeping it for that slim possibility knowing that it could go back to nothing?

op Thank you first for discussing such an important topic. To be honest, there are still many people who keep their bitcoins in the wallet or forget the wallet password. So we have to carefully enter our wallet password so that we don't forget this password. If we are trading in something as important as Bitcoin, we must keep our wallet safe. If not, the chances of damage will be high.

Yeah, many have already lost their Bitcoins forever because of forgetting the keys, seeds, etc. of their wallets.

If it is not for those early adoptions, the market wont grow this much. But thanks to them and to those lost bitcoins forever, they have already contributed to the market for having that retained value.

It is a fact that people never imagined that Bitcoin would be so valuable. When the price of Bitcoin was absolutely worthless, people bought these Bitcoins without caring about the value of Bitcoin and even if they lost their password, they did not try to recover it. If we consider from our current position, we are not valuing this shitcoin which is worthless, just like it was when bitcoin was very low and people didn't value it that way. I haven't been on bitcoin forum for long and haven't invested in bitcoin. But I keep my bitcoin wallet very secure and password seed phrase carefully. Because I know if the seed phrase is lost, I won't be able to recover it.

We'll never know for sure... Bitcoin might either end up being worth nothing at all, or it could become valuable due to its very limited supply. Time has proven that Bitcoin has become valuable. This isn't much different from any coin or possession you have right now. As long as the future remains unpredictable, and there's no time traveler from the future telling us what will happen, we're still making educated guesses. Keeping your private key isn't a bad choice, even though in the worst-case scenario, it might be worth nothing.

I don’t think the lost coins are due to people forgetting their passwords. There are services out there which can try and brute force the password as long as it’s not too long or feature special characters.

Most people lost their coins forever because they either threw away their hard drive or they overwritten it. And in these scenarios it’s impossible to recover the lost coins.

Now a days nobody forgets their password or throws away their hard drive because Bitcoin has a huge value.

I remember before Bitcoin became what it is today but this coin started to get quite a lot of attention because several exchanges had appeared, there was a person who posted that he had forgotten the password from a Bitcoin wallet containing 100 Bitcoins and asked for help on one of the local forums in my country and unfortunately he also didn't back up the Private Key and other things related to his wallet, but I didn't follow the development of this problem whether he was finally able to take the Bitcoin or not, but actually it's quite natural that someone doesn't really care about the Bitcoin they have at the beginning of this coin's appearance. because no one knows about the future, like me who doesn't know that one of the altcoins that is quite stable and currently has a high price and lost quite a lot because it used an online wallet and was hacked.
So no one knows the future and whether in the future Bitcoin will still find its new ATH.

Those who were early adopters of Bitcoin somehow knew that Bitcoin will get huge one day and I believe most of those are enjoy their lives already and they don't have to do any work in their lifetime anymore but some of the weak hands definitely lost their Bitcoin because they just considered it as a digital coins which won't get huge by any means.

Those later people might be regretting now because they have considered Bitcoin not much worthy have already lost their wallet access and thus it's almost impossible for them to recover the Bitcoin they had earned via mining or doing simple tasks to acquire some Bitcoin.

I'm not a altcoin lover and that's why I won't encourage others to purchase and hold altcoins but surely any good altcoin may get huge in value in future but the chances of that altcoin's getting 0 in value are also there. I believe that there can be some good altcoins which may start with very low values and later grow as huge giants however there is a lot of risk in that sphere.

We were not sure about Bitcoin's value back then especially if it wasn't even worth around $1 so those who accumulated a lot of Bitcoin didn't even take it seriously to keep them safe and secure, we can even remember the story of a guy who used a lot of Bitcoin just to buy a pizza. Plus if you think of it, owning thousands amount if Bitcoins back then which is worth like a cent, once you see the market reaching almost a dollar, you would already consider yourself to sell your holdings cause profit is actually profit. You are right my dear friend Bitcoin go up a lot. When it was launched many people were thinking this is not a good idea they were commenting it will never be succeeded it will never go up. So people didn't buy it. But Bitcoin just show its colour and still showing and surprise everyone. Some of them who lost the seed phrase. They also think that this is nothing but they buy it for fun. Thanks for the advise but I think it has been mentioned thousand if not million of times in this forum about keeping our wallet/passwords/seeds  all the time , safer and being secured and yes that is what we are doing now .
though thanks for the heads up , but I think you must act with that for your funds(assuming that you are Holder) and you must not generally speaks for all coin because there are only few from many that will have great value majority will fall.

This stands true for me as well, I think we shouldn't be careless let it be any crypto whether it's Bitcoin or Altcoin we should remember password and security key, phrases safely as we never know which coin we hold in any wallet can become next big thing.. I still regret my mistake of not having a back up of the password for my blockchain wallet and also not making a note or saving the seed phrase 8 years ago.

But most importantly never leave any crypto just like that for long term without monitoring because it might lead to disasters as well like the one of FTX and Luna.

Most people did not know that the value of Bitcoin would reach the level it is now and the demand for it would increase so much. We have seen in the past many people with large amounts of Bitcoins stored in their wallets who have lost their passwords and are unable to recover them. In the past most people bought their bitcoins and kept them in wallets but now they cannot sell them because they have lost their passwords and are stuck. That's why it's important to store the keys, your funds are safe as long as your keys are in a safe place. We all know that if your keys are lost, your funds will be lost, so the most important thing is to keep the keys in a safe place. I know exactly how this feels, when something has no value we treat it like it doesn't matter, even now in crypto space I have lost access to few of my coins and I don't worry because they have no good value but imagine one day they end up have good value, that's where I will start to regret.

I have learnt to take this very serious, no matter how ridiculous the value of your assets might be right now do not think it's impossible for them to have good value some day, Bitcoin have already set a good numbers of lessons and only those who have ears will hear.

If we truly understand the benefits of Bitcoin maybe we would have handled how we keep or hold it in the first place? Well, that's just how it is because no one has ever anticipated the future of bitcoins because there was no support from big companies or popular people back then so only a few are enthusiastic about it. Now the tide has turned and everyone wants to know how they can invest but unfortunately, others became victims of cloud mining scams and Ponzi schemes in their journey with bitcoins. Thankfully I was able to move on and make a difference with my approach and found this great community and here I learn what I have been missing all these years in terms of bitcoin investment.

As far as I think, I expect that the largest losses in Bitcoin were the result of selling early at a cheap price and not the result of losing wallet passwords.

Of course, there are many people who did not appreciate the value of Bitcoin at that time, so they lost their keys or passwords as a result of negligence, but there is a larger section of people who sold their Bitcoin at the first rise and thus suffered severe losses because they did not hold their Bitcoin yet.
